Give me a break-I got warned for Harassment

This happened this morning and I am still LIVID about it!!!

I was playing Pirates and was in a game with some very rude players...making comments all through the game.

Well we all know you can not say rude...so when I game was over and we were all on the dock I said....


" I hat ugly players" meaning I hate it when people playing whatever game be it pirates, HM etc make mean insulting comments to others.

I know I should have chosen another word but with VMK limited dictionary and the fact we can not say "RUDE" I said ugly.

Well some boy, I do know his name, reported me and I got a warning for harassment.

I have read over the VMK TOS and Values and what I said can not be construded as harassment I did not say it to anyone in particular and I was not harassing anyone.

I in turn reported the player who reported me ( what good it did - who knows)


VMK needs to get a better grip on who they are giving warnings too when I see everyday people saying and doing things that are much worse than what I did even taken out of context.

I guess the moral of my story is watch what you say because some other player may reprot you for little of nothing and you get the warning or a worse a ban.

And I also think I did the right thing by leaving the game shortly after this because if I had seen the little angel I probably would have gotten banned.

You Must NOT:

Use ANY hacking, scripting or editing program with the game.
Steal other Players' credits or in-game belongings.
Describe sexual acts to other Players.
Pester people who don't want to talk to you.
Swear or use sexually graphic or racist terms.
Ask other Players for their passwords, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers or other personal information.
Type your password anywhere except in the Disney registration and log-in pages, or in the Contact Us section.
Give away, trade or sell your VMK Character.
Break the law in the game or talk others into breaking it. .


Our specific house rules:

That's what I was thinking too. I think you should have had a different choice of words but I really think you should not have had to got a warning. I would transfer my good stuff now just in-case. Well, that's what I would do

No I just needed to vent. Now if I had been banned it would be another story!


I just can not beleive that I got a warning for saying what I did and players can say things like they do using the dictionary dances that they do and I continue to see them in the game hours after and continuing on with their rude comments....


Was in a game the other day and one of the players on the other team said...."I hope you all dead in real life"

and that is mild in comparsion of what I have seen the last few weeks and I get a warning.

I am really saddened by this and seriously considering my positition as a CL.

This kid had the gall to tell me "I should know better" but he was right I should know better than to think that some players have nothing better to do but than to go around reporting others for something such as this... When real serious issues need reporting.

I hope it made him feel like the big man.

Exactly! Like when I was in a gift leaving VMK room and the owner DC. This guy was taking cuts and when a girl complained he saw cursing up a storm with things like "duck you witch scrooge you". I complained and all I got back was "up to owner we cant do anything". I replied back that the owned DC.. was told then I should leave... "we cant do anything". So I guess you can do whatever you want if it is in a guest room. Way to keep up values guys!

A crazy boy in the pirates lobby was going to report someone for DANCING. He told someone to stop dancing because he will dc. The other player kept on dancing . The crazy boy said he reported. I sure hope the dancing boy did not get warned. I now see VMK really does not look into these reports much. The person who reported you probably noticed you because you are a CL and felt the need to report . Sorry that happened.

I'm sorry this happened to you Mal. I love pirates as much as you do but the amount of rude players hanging around there lately has gone up tremendously! This, howerver, has not taken away my love for pirates. I have seen some of the worst behavior in the lobby and in the game itself. In my opinion, your statement is kitty talk(if they felt the need to report it; I wouldn't) compared to what seen before.

Any kind of warning can cause any of us to feel offended or upset...as if it puts a black spot on our rep., but in the long run you have think of it only as a warning and it was understandable. It lets us know that they really do care about the way players speak to others. I know your intentions were not as some may have taken it, but you also have to understand that people can't always know what you're thinking either. Had someone said that to me, I would have naturally thought "ugly" was meant as it means. Calling someone "names" is harrassment. Even though you didn't mean "ugly" as in looks, there is no way anyone can tell that you didn't mean it that way. It was only a warning and it seems understandable. Just know next time not to say something that could offend others.

You also can't know how many people are reported daily and how many people are getting warnings and bans...just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening. I agree there are so many rude players out there, but I'm sure they've had their share of warnings.

I reported someone for being racist twice and VMK didn't even bother to reply to me with a Thank you for reporting let alone use the ignore button next time. He didn't even get banned. VMK staff really needs to change their focuses onto more worse things and stop thinking that for banning one person for something the rest of VMK will keep in line.

I got banned at FunkyMonkeyMe's room because we were telling scary stories and someone was saying they hid in the closset so I said as a joke " Heh I would have hid outside " and got banned -.- It was truly ridiculous!

They said that was SHARING PERSONAL INFO! I got banned for 2 hours but I still sent a message to VMK. That was like 3 days ago. I never got a reply.

I did not call anyone a name I said "I hat ugly players" I should have worded it "I hat players who act ugly" but I typed it fast and hit send before I had time to think....still I am sorry I do not think it consituted a warning of any kind, period. If some one thought I was talking to them or about them they could have asked. Or if they were unsure what I meant by it again they could have asked.

Never said I knew who was warned or not but I do know that I see people in the game hours on end that say things the I would have banned them permanently for saying. Things I would not repeat here.

You are entitled to think my warning was just, I still feel it was not.
