Steph, I like that you can take a train. Less stress, like you said. I'm looking into taking a bus since I can't drive (my DH would need the minivan) and I hate to fly.

I wanted to let people know I'll have my minivan and am willing to pick people up at train/bus stations and/or airports, if the timing works out okay.

Does anyone know how far the train station is? I am thinking that might be a good idea. Probably cheaper than gas.

Depends alot where you're coming from. We live in the San Diego area and my DH takes amtrak up to Union Station and back a few times a month. He does it more for the traffic issues than anything else. It costs $38 round trip. It does stop at the Anaheim Station, but others have indicated that it is definitely a cab ride away from the Anaheim Station.
For us, we could drive up and back for less than $38, but I'm not sure how much more it gets as you go further away.

Zoemakes5- I noticed your DS is an aspie. My ds has ASD.

Hey Lisa. Yep, my sweet boy is a chess club, D&D playing, computer geek, huggy huggy, incredibly smart, socially awkward, talkative, perfectionist Aspie 13 year old boy. He LOVES DLR. He still sleeps with his Pooh bear that he had in his isolette when he was a baby.

What kind of ASD does your son have? How old is he?

Hi everybody! :wave2: Hope everyone had a good Monday so far.
Just wanted to give my two cents in on restaurant choices since I never really responded to that one.
I like the Goofy's Kitchen idea. I had a really great experience there about a year ago. I would love to try HOB as I never have before and it seems like such a cool atmosphere. Blue Bayou is always a winner, expensive but worth it I think. :thumbsup2
Now I'm off to check the tentative schedule on the first page! I'm not sure if it will all apply to me as I may not get up to Anaheim until Saturday morning...but we shall see. I think I'm going to try for a Friday night arrival.
Woooo hoooo! I love having this trip to look forward to!

I have to ditto the idea about HOB. I didn't suggest it earlier, but I thought about it! It always seemed like a place to not bring the kids to (both for cost and menu) but someplace that looked very appealing to me...very grown up, which would be great with having no kids with!

He just turned 4. He is HFA with severe speech delay. He LOVES Disneyland and Mickey is the only character that he will let touch him. HUGE Cars fan. The cutest little boy with big brown eyes and curly brown hair:wizard: He was dx'd in April and it has been a crazy ride.

It depends on which hotel you stay at. When we went in April I think it cost us $10 from the train station to the RI Maingate, and the same back to the station.
As far as the train being cheaper than gas, depends on where you're coming from. For me it's going to cost about $15.00 each way, plus the cab. We only have our minivan as well so I can't take it and leave dh with the 3 kids.

Lots of chatting to catch up on.:surfweb:
So, I mentioned the Girls trip to DH. He didnt really say anything. I told him that I was tentative, since I dont know anyone. And finances change quickly for me since Im self employed. To my surprise he didnt give me the look I expected. We'll see.
The proposed itinerary sound good.:thumbsup2

Hi, girls!

I am checking out some of the tentative plans. I think that Goofy's Kitchen and Blue Bayou would be a blast. I also would like to try HOB and Jazz Kitchen. So, basically, I am open to any plans.:rotfl:

That is so cool you'll be at WDW and DL in the same month. :rotfl: And don't worry about not knowing anyone. We are all in the same boat. And by then we will definitely feel more comfortable after chatting for 5 months. :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to getting to know this great group of ladies. And hey, we all love Disney so that's a start. ;)

Have fun on your DL trip!!

Hi Ashley! I hope you can make it in on Friday. We'll all keep our fingers crossed. I think Friday would be a fun night to spend some time in DTD.

But it's all tentative so we can always make changes later on. :thumbsup2

Another vote for HOB. I have always wanted to go there.

Sounds like so far HOB and Goofy's Kitchen is a go!!!

(But if there are some who don't want to do HOB, we can split into two or more groups and meet later for drinks or dessert or whatever. We can make it work.)

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday!
Hi Mary Jo! Good to see you. :)

Hi girls! Just got back from DL. Dd danced there this weekend and had a blast. We also saw Hannah Montana on Friday night here in Phoenix. We had so much fun I'm seriously thinking of writing a TR for both but I've never done one!

I'll have to catch up on all the chatting tomorrow as my eyes are drooping!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
