There are other cuties on there, too....2 for $20. Not too bad.

I love it :lovestruc . I'm going to go to the website and see what other characters they have :thumbsup2 .

I would write a nice letter to the site and explain your situation. You spent 9 hours trying to upload to the site, but their servers could not accommodate all the last minute entries.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. :grouphug:

That's a great idea :thumbsup2 . I would have been really PO'ed if this happened :headache: .

Good Morning everyone!

Also, a Southwest 737 was landing at Spokane International Airport yesterday afternoon, and it ended up doing a complete 180 on the runway right after touching down! No one was hurt, but a few of the passengers that were interviewed said it was scary!:scared1:

I saw this on the news too. I think I would have been freaked out if the plane started spinning :scared1: .

Stay safe during the bad weather :scared: .

I hope those of you that went to DL this week-end had fun. We got back around 2 this afternoon since my DH had to work tonight.

I so wish I could have met up with some of you!!!! I kept looking at everyone for any signs of lime green or any familiar faces! But no luck.

We had a great time. Got there Friday late afternoon, and we must have missed any rain. The ground was wet but we never felt more then a few drizzles. We were at DL that night.

Did anyone see the commercial they were shooting?

Saturday we were at DCA all day, then DL at night. The lines were so short cause it did start to rain that night. We were able to do Alice, Nemo, Peter Pan, and Matterhorn with little to no wait, and those lines are usually always so freakin long!!

It was my first time on Nemo. I'd been on the old Submarine ride though, and I always did fine. I guess I must be getting old or something, because I did not like feeling closed in!! The ride was cute, but I won't be doing it again. LOL

Anyways, I hope everyone had a nice week-end whatever your plans were. :)

WELCOME BACK Beth :cheer2: . We missed you around here :grouphug: .

Glad you had a good trip and the weather worked out for you. We were there Sunday morning for a few hours before it started raining around 1:00 and we left. But I did get my AP dining pin :thumbsup2 .

We saw that taping a part of the "Disney Dream Suite" commercial above POTC. Is this the same commercial you saw taping?

Good morning, ladies!

I hope you are all having a great morning! DD is still sick but she is getting better.

Man, it has got to stop snowing here. Boise does not usually get this much snow. I am hoping that spring gets here VERY soon.

I hope you all are staying warm!
Hi January. I'm sorry Maddie is still sick. I hope she feels better fast. And that the snow stops!

Ok that is totally cute!! :thumbsup2

Good Morning everyone!

Geesh, our school district (Mead) actually cancelled school today. I don't remember the last time they cancelled.....I think it was during Ice Storm, which was like 12 years ago.

Also, a Southwest 737 was landing at Spokane International Airport yesterday afternoon, and it ended up doing a complete 180 on the runway right after touching down! No one was hurt, but a few of the passengers that were interviewed said it was scary!:scared1:

If anyone was coming to the Spokane area today, don't, because the whole city is basically closed.....every school, every university, and even City Hall is closed.
Yikes. Stay safe and warm.
And if I was on the plane, I'd NEVER get on another one. EVER. No matter what. That would scar me for life. :scared1:

Good Morning!
Good morning!!

Aw, thanks. I missed being here!! LOL
Glad you got your pin. And I think that must have been it because it was above POTC.

Did any of you see one another at the parks?
I didn't see anyone. I wish I had. I can't believe so many of us were there and we didn't get to meet up!!! LOL
I kept an eye out but didn't see anyone. Maybe someone saw me but wasn't sure. If you saw an blonde with a overstuffed backpack, walking around yelling at four kids, that was me!! :rotfl:

Hi all. Just checking in with a long rambling post about my weekend.
In Sept. I was able to go to my 20 year class reunion. I was hesitant to go, as I hadn't kept in touch with anyone, but I was close, and it was an excuse to eat and dance with my DH, so we went. I was so thrilled to "find" one of my closest friends from highschool there! We hadn't talked in about 18 years. I had searched and searched for her, but we both just got lost.
Well, since then, we've gotten together a couple of times and talked a few times. She has a DD almost exactly the same age as my DD. We went to DCA for the Halloween festivities.
Well, they both came down this weekend to join us for my DH's company day at Sea World. It had originally been scheduled for the first weekend in Nov., but was rescheduled due to the fires. Weather reports said rain and storms from about 3pm on. We got lucky and it waited until about 6pm to really start pouring. Though it was pretty cold. The crowds were very light, and we got to see quite a bit. The kids had a great time. We watched the employee's special showing of the dolphin show in the rain (pouring rain, actually), then decided we were pretty much done. We did the souvenier thing and got hot chocolate (which is remarkably good at Sea World, and they offer you souvie cups that make lg. refills of coffee or hot choc. only 1.99), then upgraded everyone to the Fun Pass for a really reduced rate, as we were able to count one of our company paid days towards it. So, if anyone wants to visit Sea World, let me know, maybe we can meet up with you! We headed home after that and got pizza on our way.
The weather report was pretty nasty for yesterday, but the morning was beautiful and sunny, so my friend and I took DD's back to Sea World yesterday to catch the Shamu show. By the time we got there, it was cold and windy, and right after we saw the penguins, it started pouring. But, we did see Shamu, and I did refill my hot choc. mug twice! DD was smiling most of the time! I'm going to send Beth one of the pic's, if I can find one that has me in it, for her to post.
What was even better was the great time I had with my friend. We caught up on what had been happening to each other for so long, talked about goals and lots of stuff. She's all excited about joining us for the Ladies Trip and she and her DD are meeting up with us for Zoe's b-day trip.
And, this Sunday we've made plans to meet up in DtD to see the Hannah Montana concert movie. (Let me know if anyone wants to meet up with us, we're going to the 3pm!) She lives in the LA area, and I live down in San Diego, so it seemed like a great meeting place. (Originally, I had planned to go to Hollywood and the El Capitan, but they're sold out!)
That's all for now. Sorry for the book, just wanted to share with all my lady friends here! :)

Michelle, it sounds like you had a great week-end!! I'm so happy you were able to reconnect with your friend. And that you have so much in common, like the two kids ages. :thumbsup2

I love Sea World, and once our passes to DL expire, I'm thinking I might try to convince DH to get passes there. I miss going there and I miss San Diego. Thanks for sharing about your time there. Sorry about the rain, but sounds like you still had a really good time. :goodvibes

If you can get him there before the end of April, you get take advantage of a promotion that they have going on....buy one day with no discounts and get the rest of the year for free. It's for the calendar year, ie. 2008, and it doesn't come with any discounts, but it's a great deal. What our family did was get one membership (mine) as an annual pass and the rest as the Fun Cards. That way, we get free parking, discounts on food, etc. Plus, if we have friends or family come to visit us, we can get 20% off their tickets. I'm hoping to get DH to agree to a visit to Orlando next year. If we do that, I'll upgrade to the Platinum pass, which will get me in to Sea World Orlando and all other Bush parks, including all discounts and special seating, etc. So, we'd be able to go to Bush Gardens, too, if we wanted to .

DBF and I have annual passes to Sea World too! Well 1 fun card and 1 Silver pass for the free parking and discounts. We are going to Sea world on the 10th of Feb.

My family also loves Sea World :cloud9: . But we love animals. We've had passes there for about 5 years and this is the first year we don't have them :guilty: . My sister lives in San Diego so we've had passes to Legoland, San Diego Zoo and Sea World for years, but I'm trying to save money, so all those places have been cut from the budget :scared:.

My DD is actually on the Sea World San Diego website for the Penguin Encounter tour. If you click on the link then click on Behind the Scences and then the Penguin Experience tour picture, that's my DD about 3 years ago :lovestruc .

Mamakate, how cool is that that your DD is on the seaworld site? :)

"a Southwest 737 was landing at Spokane International Airport yesterday afternoon, and it ended up doing a complete 180 on the runway right after touching down! No one was hurt, but a few of the passengers that were interviewed said it was scary!"

Kerthunk. That's me fainting.

As we were landing in Seattle I was stupidly thinking about the British Airways plane that had a difficult landing a short while ago.

Spinning is so scary. I had an accident that involve spinning...turns out it can sleet in South Carolina! If you have to scrape off really "hard" rain from your windshield to even get the wiper motor to start...just stay home. Anyway, I spun around and around while going downhill and sideways...and just as I bumped up onto the curb and was going to go down into a river...my bumper hit a guy wire just in the right spot and I was stopped completely. If I hit a bit over I would have been spun around into the river, but instead it just stopped.

I couldn't drive for awhile even after my car was checked out, just too scared. Then I was able to drive, and a friend and I went to see a movie...we saw Point of No Return, the Bridget Fonda remake of La Femme Nikita, I believe, and suddenly there's a scene involving a car that's speeding then suddenly spinning...and I just burst into tears and ran out.

Spinning is not fun! Unless you're on a spinny attraction at disney. :rotfl:

Molly--I hate these stories too--I HATE flying under any circumstances, but am getting ready to force myself so I can go to WDW.

Now--a question for all you ladies--are you all staying at HOjo's or are people "sleeping around"? I have made a reservation, but have two replaced knees so would like to minimize walking distances if I can and was thinking of making a reservation closer to the entrance of DLR. But I also don't want to be left out of the fun! I'm just worried that an extra 1/2 mile of walking (1 mile total) from Hojo's may do me in.
