My DH woke up this morning and said "Let's go!" so I threw things in a suitcase and here we are!! LOL

Well I am getting the 12:15 flight out back at 8:45pm the extra 6 hours of time you get to come back a zombie not for me lol.

Any one know a good limo or car service with a driver. My hubby would feel better if we did this. We are arriving in LAX.

Sure, it may be wet and a little chilly, but then again, hopefully that will mean low crowds and short lines. Besides, Beth has her porno rain boots, so she'll be just fine, sweaty toes and all!

I now a few ladies have posted the need for this to be a budget trip. As a local person, it's ALWAYS a budget trip for me.

Something we might consider doing is meeting all together for lunch as a B.Y.O. type (either packed lunch fomr home or whatever you grab in the park) and sit at the little tables in Carnation Plaza (the area just outside the castle, where school groups play).

Or perhaps in the picnic area outside of DL?

The idea of getting together is great and for those not willing, errr bank acounts not willing?, to spend the money on table service this is a way not to feel left out of the group.

Or perhaps a set time to meet at McDonald's for breakfast
Or a stop in at night after that longish walk back to HoJo's?
I'm proud to say that I have ordered from the dollar menu many a time at that Mcdonald's

Now, which day would be good to meet?? Time??

The best part.. no reservations needed!!!!

I've actually thought of this as an option. I'm relatively local, too. I had thought of offering to do something and either have others chip in with stuff or give me a buck or two. I've successfully done this when we've had conventions that we've gone to. I've made sandwiches, hot dogs and fixin's, chili and fixin's and tacos. The rooms have microwaves. I could easily cook up a bunch of taco meat and heat it up in the micro and have the other stuff. Probably would cost less than $20 to feed us all. Sunday would be a good day for that, I think. I'm all for the mcdonalds! Anytime. This trip is going to be a big splurge for me, so I'll be doing all the planned meals and such, but Sunday is still open, and if anyone wants to do it any other time, I say go for it.
We've talked about doing margaritas at some point. I had planned to get some munchies to have while doing that, too. I'll be bringing a blender and stuff with me.
For the mornings we're not doing the planned character breakfast, I plan to have donuts or muffins that I brought in.
And, I've already offered, and I'll re-offer here, to make a run to a local grocery store, or pick up stuff for people before we get there and people can pay me back. I personally couldn't live without my Mt. Dew, and there's no way to get it in Disneyland. Beth needs diet Pepsi. I can pick up fruit or veggies or chips, muffins or whatever.
I, for one, want everyone to have a great time, no matter what their budget. For some of us, the "splurge" is to get to do some of the big events. For some of us, the "splurge" is getting to go at all. For the rest, they might be somewhere in between.

Are any of you going to be flying into Long Beach Thursday mid morning. Between 10.00am and 11.00am or so. Thought maybe we could share a shuttle to DL? And then how about those flying back on Sunday late afternoon, or Monday morning?

Or sharing a rental car??

Thought we could pool together and save some bucks!

Oh, I wanted to tell everyone, I have a good friend from highschool, that I've "found" again, and she, too is a Disney junkie and plans to join us during the trip. Not sure if it will be Friday through Sunday, or if it will be Sat. & Sun., but we have another great, fun lady joining us. I'm trying to get her to join Disboards and jump on and start posting here....so maybe you'll get to know her soon.

Your idea about the food is great too. Maybe just being able to bring drinks would be a help for us. I'm always up for McDonald's breakfast. I also love their yogurt parfaits.
I will probably be bring my own homemade granola. I love it with fresh fruit, and plain or vanilla yogurt. (The yogurt might be a problem for me to bring.)
