Hi Ladies!
Wow, so much chatting last night. Sad stuff, funny stuff, heart touching stuff. I just love you gals!
I did not multi quote, but wanted to say:
Shame on big mouth Gram. But heh, just harness the anger and use it to prove her wrong. You know that Laila is a gift and your life is far from over. I believe that everything works out the way it is supposed to according to plan, and I don't think even Grandma's know what that plan is, ya know?
Also, shame on holiday thieves! My bff just had her purse stolen from the shopping cart too. So that is now 3 people that I know of that have been stolen from this year. Is there just more desperation out there, or what?
Here is my update: My Mom's procedure turned out to be pointless. It did not resolve her dizziness, blacking out issues. Very dissapointing and she is so sad. I feel really bad for her and hope that they can figure it out soon. The doctoring is so expensive, and her medical coverage is just 50%, so she is racking up the bills too, which only adds to her stress.
Hubby and I were at Costco looking at computers. We have been struggling with our home unit, which is a Dell that I paid a fortune for 5 years ago and has been a dog from day one. Anyhow, we had been thinking on a new computer for a year or so, but not wanting to spend a ton on it. Well, after cancelling our Disney Christmas trip, we decided to bite the bullet and just get good computer we needed so that I could do the home movie editing, etc that I wanted to do. We found a $1050 version with $150 off and were set to buy it, but they were out, so we were going to have to drive to a different store. As we were leaving, we stopped to look at some car speaker thing for my phone. Bill looked up at the shelf above the speaker display and asked me how badly I hated Dell. Anyhow...long story short...we bought a quad processor 650GB hard drive 8 GBRam, with a gigantic monitor for...$400!! It was the display unit, so there were no books or discs and had a gigantic scratch on the screen. We brought it home, and Bill took a wet rag to the monitor and whalaa, no scratch! Fired it up and it works great! I have been working on my movies and it is amazing! So, Merry Xmas to me!
Oh, and I did start trying to budget a trip to Disneyland Jan 14-18, but so far no buy in from my dh. Oh well, worth a try. I know that once our AP's expire on Feb 14th, a trip will not happen for a long time!
I guess I am ready for Xmas. Bill has done all the shopping. I don't even know what all we are giving the kids. I have been in a funk. Today I will go and get some stocking stuffers as my contribution. I have not done any baking. Made a couple of batches of fudge, but it did not even turn out decent. My tree is decorated and lovely and that makes me happy. No big plans, just the kids and husband and I this year. My SIL wanted me to cook dinner and have them over but I said no thanks.
Oh, we got the Wii fit for Xmas from my sister. I am 55 in wii years. Can you believe it? Also, I am OBESE! Maybe that is why I am feeling so blue
And to top it off, it said my husband was his true age, and in shape
Okay, well I think I will go work out! Not sure if I will be on again much as I am going to be playing with the kidlets and the dog (oh yeah, we have the best dog ever!).
Have a wonderful couple of days gals!
Tracey
