Got five ten for our carnation cafe res! hope the others got theirs. Going back to zzzz

I'm on hold with disney dining....called at 7 and they are already experiencing high call volume!:scared1: That's crazy, but it is probably all the other divas. Oh, I got through...My table of 4 is booked for the requested time! Hope everyone else has as good of luck!

Sarah

Yep--I know what you mean about beings selfish little piggies. It would not occur to me to go to the zoo--too much work! Sounds like your day was great.

Well, I didn't put anything up so there's nothing to take down (uh, errrr, other than the stuff in the living room I never took down LAST year . . . . .)

Ok--some of you may wonder why I'm up posting at 2 a.m.

Good news: Christmas dinner tasted great.

Bad news: I'm having to wash sheets and blankets. Apparently you can get the chills with food poisoning too because I'm freezing.

Good news: Maybe I'll lose a few pounds . . . . .

Happy New Year Divas!

 Hope you are feeling better very soon.

Merry Christmas Divas! I hope Santa brought you everthing you wanted!

Thank you everyone for the gift card. I was able to get my kids some nice things & then I'm saving the rest to put towards Laila's birthday & saving some for a rainy day :thumbsup2.

Jill my kids loved the gifts & thank you for even thinking of me .

Linda thank you for the surprise package for Adara ;). She was excited it was such a big box .

I actually got a surprise from my DD! She had $30 she was saving & she decided to buy me a present with it. She went to the mall with her friend & her friends mom last week & she bought me a bracelet with crystals & some body spray from Bath & Body Works. I didn't want her to spend her money on me, but it really touched me that she thought to buy me a gift. It was a very sweet gesture :).

Thank you, Thank you & Thank you again to all the divas who made my families Christmas a little more special. I hope you all enjoy your day with your families & God Bless .

So sweet of your daughter.

:hug:Sorry time with your parents didn't go well. Glad to hear you were able to enjoy Christmas with your kids.

Well, my family just left. My dinner was ok, not as good as I had hoped. The prime rib was kinda "chewy". What makes it like that? But the wine and cupcakes were delish!;) And everyone had such a nice visit. My mom was so impressed with all my cards and I had to fess up that no, I have not suddenly become Miss Popularity after all these years but joined a card exchange group.:)

Katie - I kind of regretted sending that package right after I did it. Thinking is was in poor taste, but it was with the BEST intentions - I'm glad you know that. Anyway, please know it was done with love cause you are such an awesome mom, friend and diva.:santa:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

...now off to finish the wine.:cutie:

mmmmm cupcakes

Hello!! I had a fab day. I love a Christmas with just my DH, DD and I. We opened presents, ate sticky buns, went to the zoo, played with all of our loot, and watched a movie.

I loved every bit of it. Sometimes it is nice to be selfish little piggies all closed up in our lair not letting in anyone else!! KWIM?

Only sour note is that my Wolfhound got grease drippings off the counter AGAIN while we were watching a movie....and last time he did that we had some serious nasties coming out of his behind that resulted in IV fluids and lots of drugs.

Think good "firm" thoughts for the Gryff man and I. An 140 lb dog is not a good experience with the squirts!!

I got my DH a Kindle for Christmas...he thinks I am the coolest!!

AmySue

Hope your dog doesn't become ill.

I would have never thought to go to the zoo on Christmas. Sounds like a fun day.

I agree with your dh 'you are the coolest'. I'm hoping for a Kindle or a Nook this coming year.

Good evening gals! Hope everyone had a wonderful day! Katie I am sorry your family is being such a pain but I am so glad that your kids were able to enjoy a good christmas.

Linda sounds like a nice day! We had prime rib too and although mom forgot to turn on the oven at first, LOL, it was really good once it was done. We had prime rib, green salad, marinated broccoli and twice baked potatoes! YUM!

We got up this morning and the girls were very excited and loved everything. They had given me a list luckily a few months back and I had gotten mostly everything they wanted, luckily they were not too greedy and didn't want a whole lot. Mostly a few cds, dvds and some games and such. Katy got more stuff for her easy bake oven and the zhu zhu pets were a big hit! :)

Shane surprised me and he had gotten me a pair of earrings that matched the bracelet he bought me for my birthday and necklace I got for valentines. I saw the bracelet on the ladies trip last year and he bought me the bracelet and matching necklace and I got one for my birthday WHILE we were there and then the matching necklace for our anniversary this past year. Or maybe it was mother's day. Heck I can't remember but it was a big surprise. Well then when we were there in Oct we found the matching earrings and I REALLY wanted them because this particular set really doesn't go well with anything else. I admired them but they were a little pricey and I didn't think anything more of it. So I was VERY surpised to get them!! I also admired a really cute vintage Disney sweater that was pretty popular at that time. It is white with a scoop neck and a hood and has Mickey on it and says Disneyland. It was more than I usually like to spend so I just passed it on by. I THOUGHT he had bought me one of the Jim Shore figures I love so much but I love these even better!!!

Then we went to mom's and I got a beautiful pair of earrings that I had seen in Truckee when I was there over Thanksgiving and had wanted but were too expensive. I also needed a new saucepan and she got me a really nice non stick one. Plus I got a gift card for penneys and I plan to buy myself a new pair of house shoes tomorrow! :) And I got a docking station for my new phone. It is a thing that I can charge my phone in that lets it sit up and turns the whole face of the phone into a clock/night light. Plus it will let you play your music (if you have any downloaded) and show a slide show of your pics etc. It is a really cool thing!

The girls were really excited and got lots of fun little trinkets from mom and Shane got some golf stuff.

Over all it was a GREAT day! Lynn came over and I will admit it was a bit awkward but I know Shane and the girls were happy to see her and visit with her.

Anyway tomorrow mom and I will probably run out and check out the sales to get our usual paper, bows etc half off for next year and then she is headed to truckee and I have a bunch of errands I need to run.

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL christmas and talk soon!

Glad to hear you had a great Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We got home about an hour ago and we opened the remaining presents here at home. I got $50 from my parents :cool1: and a cute gum drop pillow from my little sister.

I hope everyone is having a great day with family.

Amy - sending you good thoughts and prayers for your Gryff, the squirts are a nasty thing to deal with :sad2:

Cute gift from your sister.

Katie~ sorry your family was such Jack a****!!
sometimes family can be so mean!

Linda- I have never made prime rib but I really want to try. Sounds like you sent a very lovely care package!
AmySue - a day at the zoo sounds like fun!!

Oh my goodness today has been exhausting!! I can't remember the last time I had Christmas with such mayhem! It was loud, 7 kids from 13-4 opening presents, playing, wow! It looked like a paper & box factory exploded! But it was fun. Brucee got me the open heart angel neclace! I love it!! 3 books from the cookie murders! But sadly I need the blueberry cheese cake murder before I can read anymore. His parents gave me a digital photo frame! I love it! And $100.
I am pooped!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Wow that's a lot of kids. I got a mental picture of the paper & box factory expoding.

That's right!! Bright and early, don't forget to call in ladies. And hopefully I won't sleep through my alarm..... :rolleyes1 :p

I hope everyone had a wonderful and Merry Christmas today. I know we did!! Everything went perfect. The kids were thrilled with everything they got. In fact, we all got some really nice things that we'd been wanting. :goodvibes

It was a great morning, and we had the huge traditional Christmas family breakfast. YUM.

But all good things must come to an end......and I have just finished packing up, boxing up, and putting back in the garage all five trees and all decorations. Whew. I'm exhausted!! It was fun having so many trees, but I have to say, it's nice to have things back to normal.

Enjoy your weekend everyone. Talk to y'all tomorrow. Night! :cloud9:

Hi Girls!
We had a great Christmas, and our tree is down, too!

:worship: I'm considering taking my tree down today. It's a lot work to take the ornaments down as most of them have individual boxes.

Beth, I'm so impressed you already have your trees put away?

Setting my alarm to get up for the 7AM DL phone call! (this is not easy for me, the night owl)

Today, the Lakers did not give me a Christmas present - what a horrid game.

Linda, I think for prime rib to be chewy, you can only look at the quality of the meat. There's little variation in how to cook it, and prime rib should always be tender. So I don't think it's your fault.

That's one of my fav Christmas meals. This year I did a fresh Butterball turkey, cooked in a bag and it was really tender and moist. I did it unstuffed too so it ended up being fairly easy. I managed to get through two days of cooking with my MIL and not have any "moments." I think we're getting to know each other's idiocyncracies in the kitchen.;)

Deb, sounds like a great Christmas!

Glad to hear you had a nice dinner w/ you family!

Merry Christmas Divas! It is the morning after and I have been out of bed for an hour because I am nervous I will fall back asleep and miss reservation time! 2 months and we will all be together again!

Has anyone heard from KatieandMatt'smom? She is the only one that has not responded to my PM about HOB. Everyone else has responded that they are still wanting to go...as long as they are not the only one!:rotfl: We have at least 7 folks...I will pm you soon!

We had a great christmas...dh said it was his favorite in quite a number of years. We all got spoiled rotten! I got 2 new sets of pjs (pajama party here I come!), some new undies (when you lose 65 lbs you don't always realize the ramifications to your wardrobe!:lmao:), a digital picture frame (now I can have all your lovely faces flashing at me throughout the day!), a 90 minute massage certificate at my favorite place, jewelry, money, nail polish (that my son picked out - it's called "I'm not really a waitress" or something like that!), etc! My kids got way more spoiled than I did but the best part of the day was when my 18 month old daughter had her pink penguin sleeper on with pink sparkly tennis shoes and a red tutu and then proceeded to do a belly plant on this huge balloon! Her hands were on the ground but her feet were in the air so there she was with her butt sticking up and feet flying rollling on this huge balloon, her tutu sticking up! It was soooooo funny! I think we got a picture somewhere!

We made a great breakfast and I made 2 versions, regular and light (with egg beaters). You really couldn't tell the difference as far as flavor is concerned, and my mil made cinamon rolls (yum!) and we had strawberries.

Dinner was down at my husbands grandfathers house and it was quite delish! I made the green bean casserole and brought a ww pumpkin pie which was really tasty! Overall a great day!

the kids fell asleep on the way home and ds stayed asleep. I was in bed by 830 and asleep by 9...I kept dreaming about being at the Golden Horseshoe and waiting for the holiday show to start while keeping an eye out for the divas!

Have a great day after. I need to go make ressies then get ready for some shopping...need to buy my black sweatshirt, transfer paper, ribbon, small stuff for next years advent calendar, and christmas letter paper for next year! Oh, and a new crock pot....we are going to use some of the money we got to get an 8 qt one!

Happy holidays!

Sarah

Too cute about your dd.

Got five ten for our carnation cafe res! hope the others got theirs. Going back to zzzz

Hey, how did you manage to get 5:10 for the table of six?? I was told they only have 4:20 or 6:00 p.m. for a table of six - so I took 4:20........

We're good to go with Ariel's - I just have to wait for confirmation from the restaurant for the exact time because of how many in our group :thumbsup2

Okay so I just got finished with Disney Dining... And I'm sad to report that all I could get for a table of 5 was 330. :headache::sad2:Everything close that 5 in either direction was booked.

I will call back weekly to see if I can move the time. I couldn't believe that they were booked that quickly. I'm thinking the rest of you Divas got to the phone before me. I wonder how many people can be seated at CC at any given time?

Bad news: I'm having to wash sheets and blankets. Apparently you can get the chills with food poisoning too because I'm freezing.

Good news: Maybe I'll lose a few pounds . . . . .
Oh no. Feel better.

I'm guessing right now that all the other Divas called PS # just before me as the recording is telling me that they are experiencing an abundance of calls right now (something like that).
:rotfl: I was put on hold for quite a while.

:worship: I'm considering taking my tree down today. It's a lot work to take the ornaments down as most of them have individual boxes.

I had one tree that was nothing but Hallmark ornaments and those all had to be individually rewrapped, so I feel your pain. :headache:

Hey, how did you manage to get 5:10 for the table of six?? I was told they only have 4:20 or 6:00 p.m. for a table of six - so I took 4:20........

I was told the same thing: 4:20 or 6 pm for a table of 5! I also took the 4:20!:thumbsup2
Everyone must have been calling in at the same time! I was talking to someone by 7:15am! Even the poor CM sounded tired!

CC is so dang small. I had a feeling we'd run into this problem. I got a table for 5 for 5:10. I hope the other's check in soon so we know how they did......
If we didn't get enough reservations we might have to think of a plan B. Maybe just a counter service or something. :confused3

Everyone must have been calling in at the same time! I was talking to someone by 7:15am! Even the poor CM sounded tired!

I have this image of all the CMs sitting there looking at each other, wondering what the heck is going on and why they are all getting calls for the same day and time. :rotfl2:

Like you said, keep calling back. Maybe they will change it. Anytime in the 4 or 5:00 range would be better. Thanks for calling though. We had such a large group this time compared to last time, I really didn't think it would work like it did before. Unfortunately the restaurant is just too small.

A table for six - but I tried five and was told it was the same table :rotfl2: I think you and Donna must have been the reason I was on hold and you scooped up those two tables. Carnation Cafe is darn small!! At least Becci's group will be there at the same time - and maybe we'll eat up all the baked potato soup ;)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!
My kids were so excited & thrilled with everything they got!! I'd say this was the most gifts they've received....and we only bought one for each of them!! The foster/adoptive association does a wish list that the sheriff's office fills....I've been helping with the sorting, bagging & handing out & realized.....my families gifts weren't there. The sheriff's office felt so bad, they filled the wishes plus gave us extra stuff!! Then for volunteering, I also got to pick an extra gift for each kid as a thank you for my time & gas. I call these people my angels this year!!
The twins were overwhelmed....they liked the bows but really didn't want to do much else with the packages. Usually when we introduce a new toy, they walk way around it & it's not until the next day they'll venture anywhere close to it. Last night we were relaxing & next thing I know....both Shyann & Michayla were playing with the new toys!!! It absolutely made my day!

So that's the good news......now for the bad.......
:guilty: As much as it kills me to say this.......I will NOT be able to go in February :sad2:
I've tried to figure things out, but our tax money probably won't be here until after the trip & with my parents helping us out financially over the last few months....it would be really hard to explain how I had the money to go to Disneyland but not pay my electric bill. I am thrilled I've had the chance to chat with a lot of you.....you will never know how greatful I am to have a support system like you ladies....and it breaks my heart that I won't be able to hug each & everyone of you to thank you for getting me thru this past year.
We will probably try to take the family to Disneyland this next year & I will surely post when we're going in hopes of possibly meeting some of you (in the area) during that trip.

Thanx again for being there for a "stranger"!!!!!!

Ha, ha, beat ya to it! :p And you better not eat all the soup!!

OKay so you have for six. That's fine. One extra just in case. Other than that, I'm closing sign ups now for CC and Ariels. Once they are booked, I refuse to call and change them to add more. I did it multiple times last year, and honestly, it's not all that easy to do. They gave me a hassle each time.

If we get any new members who want to join these meals, they can call and see if they can get a small table near us. That's the best I can do at this point. The groups are already so large as it is, we might not even get enough seating for us. I'm still waiting to hear from the rest who called in.

YAY for a wonderful Christmas. :goodvibes

Sorry you won't make the trip. But I do understand. Real life comes before Disney. Maybe you'll make the next one, or one of the mini meets which are sure to pop up. In the meantime, definitely keep chatting with us!! You're one of the group now.

Ha, ha, beat ya to it! :p And you better not eat all the soup!!

True dat! Ariel's can't be changed now - I had to make special arrangements because we're a group of over 18......

Happy day after christmas! Sounds like everyone had a WONDERFUL christmas! I am so glad that the divas were able to help out some of us who were in need and it sounds like EVERYONE managed to have a good one despite all the stuff going on. Ah the magic of Christmas!! :)

I am off here in a second to run to target for the obligatory day after buying of wrapping paper, bows, labels etc for next year. Then I got a gift cert for Penneys yesterday and I want some new house shoes and I still need a sauce pan. The one my mom bought is awesome but not the right kind. And I really want to get some more fake "uggs". The ones I have are several years old and all the fur is mooshed down. Plus I want black or dark brown this time. I have the tan.

Anyway then after we get back we have to run all over getting the mail, paying some bills etc.

I need to get a different case for my cell cuz it won't work in my new docking station with the case I have.

Gotta run have a GREAT day!

Good morning!
It sounds like everybody had a great Christmas! But I sure hope Cheryl and AmySue's dog are both doing well today!

Today we are going to Marty's mom's house to celebrate Christmas with his family. With 8 siblings, it is difficult to find a day that we can all be together. I have a few bottles of wine packed, to help me thru the day!
And then this evening we will head to our friends' cabin near Yosemite. I can't wait to be up in the mountains!!!!
So starting tonight I'll have limited internet access, but I'll check in when I can.
Much love to all!

Sorry I haven't got back with you. It has been sooooo crazy around here. I have been running since last Wednesday and feel like I shouldn't be sitting down right now. The last family member goes back to the airport tonight. I think final head count for this year was 19. So different from last year since we were snowed in and no one was able to fly out!

I dostill want to go to HOB and I will pm you with payment arrangements!

First, thank you too all the early morning divas who woke up to make PS for us! PS confirmations always make it seem more real and like the trip is coming up quick. Getting excited!

But all good things must come to an end......and I have just finished packing up, boxing up, and putting back in the garage all five trees and all decorations. Whew. I'm exhausted!! It was fun having so many trees, but I have to say, it's nice to have things back to normal.

Hi Girls!
We had a great Christmas, and our tree is down, too!

:worship: from me too. We'll be lucky if our tree is down before the end of the weekend.

That does sound yummy. Sad I missed out. DH and I had a honeybaked ham with potatoes au gratin, potato salad, deviled eggs, green beans, rolls and some ice cream pie for dessert. There was enough left over for ham & cheese scramble this morning and some sandwiches for dinner tonight. YAY leftovers!

Ugh :( I hope you feel better soon and can sleep through the night tonight. The worst is being sick & not being able to sleep.

That does sound cute. Little girls dressed up and running around are too cute.

:guilty: As much as it kills me to say this.......I will NOT be able to go in February :sad2:

I'm sorry. But hope things turn around for a trip with the family this year.

And then this evening we will head to our friends' cabin near Yosemite. I can't wait to be up in the mountains!!!!
So starting tonight I'll have limited internet access, but I'll check in when I can.
Much love to all!

oooohhh, Yosemite! You'll have to share how it is. I've only been in the summertime.

Well, I got exactly what I wanted for Christmas this year from my and my dh parents - both got me Disney Gift Cards. Am very grateful & just need to remember to send them some pics of food & such after the girl's trip so they can see what I used it on.

I just wanted to check in and say that I got a PS for Carnation @ 5pm (party of 4).

Sounds like most had a very nice Christmas :yay:!

Amy- Was the zoo crowded?

Cheryl- Hope you're feeling better today .

Laurie- Sorry you don't think you'll make it. If I wasn't local, I doubt I'd be able to make the trip.

Hugs to everyone.

Talk to you all later!
