Girls-only Trip~Old thread, see first post for new one.

Knocked hair cut off the list, turned out cute. I planned to dye it but the stylist said "wait until you see the back". My last home demi- dye (non permanent, wears off in 28 days) was over 3 months ago. I still have some of the red and a bit of brown from another previous dye, combined with the new growth of my own dark brown (the grays are hiding underneath -YAY!), it looks like I got a professional coloring with mixed highlights.


Adding to my list... order glasses.

Wearing a new shirt today, it has "bling" in several spots. I usually don't wear bling-ness, thus my glasses had an unhappy cleaning swipe scraaaaaaaaatch across both lenses.
They were free ones from Coastal.com, not a big loss. Logged into my account and ordered up two more pair for $43 shipped. I was sad they no longer have my previous frame, hopefully the two I picked will be cute. Cutting it close to arrive before the trip.

I'm near sighted, I can go without them but I tend to get a headache after a few hours. I have a pair of lined bifocals, but I hate them! Tried for two weeks and gave up. I already have occasional balance/dizzy issues and couldn't get use to that see well straight on, look down and blur at the line view. A little dangerous for anyone walking with me, I crashed into hubby several times during our mall walks.

So if the glasses don't come in time, I may be a bit squinty. Not sneering at everyone with disdain I just can't see far away!

Oooo and I found another item for my villain gift at Walmart and hubby made another item.

Right now, in front of my house, I have a 40' trailer with 4 - 42" Flat Screen TV's, each with an Xbox hooked up for 16 teenagers to game their little hearts out for three hours!! A new company started up in our city called Rolling Video Games - up to 16 players can play together! Rumble seats and surround sounds - a teenage boys dream!!

Think I will sit in the house away from the noise!!

My niece is having a grand opening for her new consignment store called ReLoveIt on E. Bidwell. She has had one in the past, did very well, decided to go back to school, have a baby and so on, so she sold it. Guess she missed it, cuz she opened one up again. She is very picky and carries mostly name brand stuff.
This is the DD of my sister Renee who died this time last year. I thought I needed to be there for her, to fill in as a good Auntie/Mommy.

Come say Hi if you want. The grand opening is tomorrow night from 6:00 to 8:00. I won't have much time to visit, but it would be fun to see you. And you could check out her store!

Oh dang! I missed it - I should have logged on again last night. I hope it went well. I love going down to Folsom and shopping at the thrift stores so I will make it out there soon and check it out.

Tonight I am setting up for my son's Angry Bird birthday party. I still feel like there is so much to do to get ready! We are making a life-sized AB out of playground-type balls and cardboard boxes. I found nests at the craft store to put snacks in and found boxes of AB candies on clearance for 50 cents a box. All in all, everything is coming together nicely so hopefully the party goes well.

My trip to do list:

prepare meals for the family
prepare my M&G goody bag item
buy one more thing for my exchange gift
pack my clothes (I found an awesome teal dress for Sunday)

Hello, ladies!! I hope you all had a good day today. Mine was spent running errands. Oh, but I did find some awesome lime green nail polish. I think that will end up being the extent of my lime green. Hey, I tried.

More people are leaving early Monday than I thought. But, I do know that Jessica and Kandace will be there. They are doing breakfast at Storytellers, and then I think Kandace is there until around 1 or so.

Around 15 years ago a neighbor boy had a party and a big truck pulled up and did a magic show. I remember all these little kids sitting in chairs at the curb watching show.

I heard about Whitney late this afternoon. At first I thought it was some sort of joke.. She had such a beautiful voice... It's a shame how her life ended. Far too young.

The company is called Rolling Video Games and they are just starting to spread across the US. The one serving our area just bought into the franchise about 4 months ago.

My son has now thanked me 5 times!! Even texted me to thank me! He is usually a polite kid but this is going overboard. So I know it was a big hit. It was amazing to stand right next to the trailer and not hear a sound when the door was closed!

Ack! I am not a fan of Sundays. This morning (well, whatever you call a day that starts at 2am) was just a disaster. I really do not like working with unreliable people, especially when I'm the only one who seems interested in picking up the slack.

Going to run a couple errands today. Need to get some things to finish a little project I'm working on for the trip. A project for the trip? I am feeling awfully slackerish. Many are talking about all the preparations and crafties and the like for the trip. I am going to throw stuff in my car and drive there.

A lot of preparation, huh? Maybe it is the mentality of a local? I live 98 miles away and go fairly often...or, maybe I am lazy generally?


I do have back to back out of town-isms. My DD11 and I go to Ohio this week Wednesday-Sunday to see my parents, then the DIVA trip, so maybe that is it.

I am feeling yesterdays sugar overload. I went to get my pedi and workout today to relax from yesterday. The party went well, but the strangest thing happened - one of the dads dropped off his sons and invited himself in and through the house to the backyard where he started asking all sorts of questions about the landscaping and started playing with our giant slingshot. When he came in he asked if we had a gift bag he could use to wrap the gift. He stayed awhile just asking questions and being loud. Eventually he left, but when he returned for pick up he came in and sat down - and had brought beef jerkey for the boys. I have never experienced anyone like this guy. One of the other moms was telling me that two years ago, he and his wife and another couple left a sitter at their home with the kids, but found the stash of pot brownies and downed them with a bottle of wine. Ambulance, CPS, fireman, and police all had to show up. Funny thing is, his wife and I were on PTC together and I never would have guessed this about her. Oh, behind closed doors....

It looks like I can now add a 6th trip to Disneyland to my year! The DH and I decieded to go for our anniversary weekend October 12-14. I will miss you ladies by a week, but we need some time alone and he was the one that suggested DL!

This next week needs to be over already! I so do not want to be at work! Oh well, I am taking half a day off this tuesday to help out in my son's class for his v-day party and then I get next monday off work, so that is something. 250 hours on the nose till I leave my house for the airport and the trip! I can't wait to see everyone! And some time away from work is looking really good. I love my coworkers and all, but I just need some fun with some great divas and some decent weather!
