Hello, ladies! Happy Valentine's Day! :lovestruc

normal_Happy_Valentines_Day_Friends.jpg

Whatever your plans are for the day, take a moment to be thankful for all the love and happiness in your life, today and everyday. :)

Hi everyone. I am Carol's (karylrocks) daughter Lisa. I'm really excited to meet you all and to get away from the husband and 2 year old boy, although I'm feeling a little guilty, but I know that feeling will go away the minute I step off that plane :woohoo: See you all in Disneyland.
Hi Lisa! I can't wait to meet you. :) I'm so glad you'll be joining us this year. I understand feeling guilty. I have to say, I've been several times now and it doesn't get any easier to leave my family. Shhh, don't tell anyone but I usually cry a bit!! But, once I am there, surrounded by Disney magic and friends, I always have a great time. And you will, too! See you soon.

I want to check the weather too, but all too often the weather they post 10 days out changes by the time you get a day or two out. :confused3
Oh, I know! I hate it when they post one thing and then last minute it suddenly changes. I just don't want hot weather. Not that it really matters. Hot or not, I haven't worn shorts since I was pregnant with Noelle. (she's 15 now!) Not even during the summer here when it can reach 112 degrees! These white, flabby, vein-covered, fat legs are not something anyone needs to see. :scared1: :lmao:

Beth, I'm not with you hoping for a little drizzle on the trip.I want warm weather. I want to eat dole whips and gibson girl out in the warm sunshine.:)
LOL I think most people are not with me on wanting a bit of drizzle. Not to worry, it's most likely going to be sunny and bright. :sunny:

DH has a job interview tomorrow. AT FIVE PM. IN PALO ALTO (2.5 hour drive from here to Stanford). Yes, on Valentine's day. And if the interview takes more than an hour, he will probably spend the night down there - he's not a huge fan of driving at night - I'm the driver in our family. It's not like we had anything planned, just lunch at Red Lobster. They will still be there later in the week. LOL.
Aw, that's too bad he'll be away tonight, but I hope he does well at his interview! :wizard:

Oh, I just found out I may be bringing a Flat Stanley with me! I'm not sure how long I'm supposed to keep him before sending him on but he should be here this week!!
Awesome! When we had a Flat Stanley here, we took him to a pawn shop and In-n-Out burger. :rotfl:
Speaking of bringing things along, I have Tinker Bites!! Anyone remember her? She's been with me and since I didn't go last year, neither did she. :sad2: But she'll be making an appearance once more.

For those of you who don't know, she is our trip mascot, complete with Diva tiara!

She needs a new cape (bib) though with our newest tee design. Unfortunately, there is no way I am crafty enough to do that. :rolleyes1

Hi all! Was gonna say "happy Monday", but now it's Tuesday! My fabulous day included laundry, grocery shopping at the OH SO FABULOUS WalMart and then a small Food Network marathon in the craft room while I worked on my little project. LOL. It also buys me another day to make his card since he has a morning meeting at 8:30 and then he's leaving here around 10AM and heading to his mom's (she lives about 10 minutes from Stanford). So tomorrow morning will be kinda hectic and then I will have the house to myself until at least 8PM. So that's all the excitement here...... wheeeee..... LOL

Good luck to the hubby on the interview! Will you move down here if he gets the job?

Neither are mine, but I have reached a point in my life where my comfort is more important to me than protecting the eyeballs of those around me. Y'all can put on sunglasses, right?

Aw, that's too bad he'll be away tonight, but I hope he does well at his interview! :wizard:

Well, on his way home from his morning meeting, he got a call with another job offer. We are waiting now for the offer letter to be emailed. If it comes in the next half hour or so, he may cancel on the interview in Palo Alto. Not so much as a nibble on the resumes he's sent out for the last 3 months and all of a sudden he's got an offer and is one of only two people being interviewed for an opening? Argh.

No moving. No way. Never. LOL

He would stay at his mom's during the week and come home on Friday nights for the weekend. We've done this before when he was on a project at SFO for about a year.

I agree.....it's so close now!!! I so need this trip!! :goodvibes
Me too!!! I need a break from the students :cutie:

LOL I think most people are not with me on wanting a bit of drizzle. Not to worry, it's most likely going to be sunny and bright. :sunny:
I am with you - I love rain and how it keeps away the crowds. Most of the rides are indoors anyways!

Lisa~ Good luck with the offer :goodvibes

My students were off today - chatty and moody - one girl was throwing me daggers with her eyes and refusing to work. So glad that my classes are finished for the day. I have to stay late for a department meeting, but should be out of here by 4:15 and on my way home. The hubs and I have date night

I made the cape which did end up looking like a bib.:rotfl:
But since I haven't seen the new tee design I can't make one for this trip.

Single digits!!!

Ok, part of me isn't so excited that we're so close. I strained a muscle in my hip and anytime I spend a long period of time on my feet I can barely move. I'm hoping if I rest it enough I'll be fine for the trip if I take it easy but I'm starting to think I'll be sitting down for most of this trip! At least I'm not actually doing the Scavvy Hunt this year, lol.

That and I think I'm going to start looking into moving down to SoCal. Ive wanted to work at Disneyland for as long as I can remember and now would be as good a time as any to apply with all the new stuff at DCA. I've just pi it off for so long because I didnt have money to move. Hmmm. Any advice?

Hope your hip gets better!!

Well no advice - maybe Jill can help out - but I say go for it! Do it now while you can - especially if it is something that you have always wanted to do!

You made that?? That's so cool. I thought someone bought a white baby's bib, and then ironed on the design. A bib would work, just turn it around like a cape, lol, but I can't do the design. I suck at iron on transfers.

 Feel better.
I messed up my elbow. Not sure how. Maybe it's arthritis. :confused3 Some days it's fine, other days I'm in such pain I can barely lift a pillow. We'll sit our injured selves on a nice park bench. ;)

Oh, wow. Now the ball will be in his court and he'll possibly get to pick and choose!

The twenty-something-year-old that lives within me says, "We could be roomies and work at DL together! And I would fly home every other weekend to see whats-his-name!" LOL

Other than that, no. I got nuthin. You are young. THIS is the time to chase this sort of stuff!

Mine is the right shoulder. Getting older is a beeyotch. LOL

Well, the job offer had the contingency of passing a physical, which is bad for a couple of reasons. So we shall see what happens.
