In March, is anyone interested in going to PFF with me? I think it would be fun to get a group of us to go in and pose with the Princesses. And I want to decorate a castle cookie! :yay: LOL It's my turn to be a kid on this trip. :rotfl:

I don't think I'll do it but I will join you. As I calculate the cost for this trip, I'm starting to get a pain in my nearly empty wallet:headache: I'm saving little by little, like for each event (food, tour, etc). I'm so glad I already have an AP.

Oh, I'll go! I'm interested in checking that place out.

So everybody, if you call and I don't answer, I'm not avoiding you, I just don't check my voicemail very often and my phone doesn't always ring when I'm down there!!!!

That's why I will text you. What's your number again?! PM it to me plz

Another tamale family here. We will be making ours in a few weeks. We also freeze them uncooked. Then steam them. They just seem to work out better that way.

Last night when I got home from work I almost dragged DD out of bed. I got the cell phone bill $400!!! Yikes! Usually our bill is about $100. I was sooooo steamed. I let her sleep but this morning her and I had a talk. She is a great kid who works hard at school and all her activities. The one place where she has been lacking over the years is being social. She has always had friends at school, and is popular and well liked, but she never brings those friendships outside of school. She started a new school this year and she is thriving. And from the looks of the cell phone bill, so is her social life. She is banned from her online chat/message board for the rest of the week, cell phone restrictions for the next two weeks, and she has to complete a honey-do list for me. She agreed that was a fair punishment.

Storyteller's Breakfast - does anyone have a preference about what time I make the PS for? With trying to squeeze everything in, I want to make sure we get a breakfast time that will allow us to do everything. So if anyone has their heart set on a specific time, let me know or forever hold your peace.

$400!!! My dad freaked out when we reached $200 and that's 3 of us. We ended up switching over to T-Mobile and getting unlimited texting, none of us are big talkers during the day. My sister talks to her BF a lot but it's a night during the "free" minutes.

No preference for time, whenever is good. I'm so going with the flow.

 I think a group of us should go buy those little tiaras, you know the ones I mean? They are small and have like a hair comb that keeps them in place. Or bring one with us. They sell them at party stores pretty cheap. Then go to PFF and take pics with the Princesses.
From there we can decorate cookies and take a group pic with our castle cookies. :rotfl:

I like the tiara idea. They are pretty cheap.

Anyone else notice we just passed 1,000 posts on this thread? My, but we're chatty. :hyper2:

OMG! I would have passed out!! That's a lot of money. Ouch.

As for breakfast, I am good with any time. If EARLIER is what it takes to fit everything in, then that would be my vote. The more we can do in a day the better. Especially that day, since I think we will have the most people that day.

I love it!!! princess:

Part of me wouldn't mind going to PFF since I have two boys, and who knows if I'll ever get a girl. Are we going to get princess makeovers first? :rotfl:
How long do you think it would take to do? Being my first time, I want to see a little of everything.
:rotfl: Princess makeovers. Can you imagine?? LOL
I don't want to go when it's busy. If you get there early, it shouldn't be too bad.

Actually I'm hoping crowds are low this time around. After the last trip, we deserve it!

My mom's family also makes tamales. My grandparents are both from Mexico and it is a family tradition for the entire family to gather on Christmas Eve and all the aunts (mom and her sisters) to make tamales. TONS of tamales. They are soooo good!:goodvibes
That is so awesome. Everyone has all these great family traditions. We never did anything like that when I was growing up. And we still don't.

Beth, PFF sounds fun! I can nab one of my DD's little crowns.princess:
:thumbsup2 princess:

Don't feel alone. :sad2:

Been there done that!!

I am game for this.

My christmas shopping is all done and gift wrapped:santa:

i just have to decide what i'm going to bake/cook for the holiday season.

Tamales for sure. { some red chili pork} { some green chili chicken} { and refried bean and asado cheese with a strip of long green chili}

Cut out sugar cookies with handpainted buttercream frosting

fudge with and without nuts

rock candy

peanut brittle

cheese balls

hhmmmm... i need to get to work getting recipes together and making grocery lists.:upsidedow

Would you like to do my shopping? I've just barely started.
And feel free to send any of those treats over to my house. :rotfl2: They sound so tasty.

Wow - I am so impressed! I have most of my shopping done, but not wrapped yet.... How do you make tamales?? We love Mexican food, but beyond making tacos I am lost. I would love to learn how to make yummy tamales. Any recipes you can share??? If I beg a little bit, pretty please???

Still jealous of anyone near done with their holiday shopping.

Hi ladies! I hope you are all having a good day so far. I've been cleaning all morning long. From 7 a.m. until about 10 minutes ago, and I'm pooped and smell like bleach. Ick.

All this talk of tamales makes me hungry! My MIL used to make them every year during the Christmas season. Now she found a great little place in L.A. that makes them just as good so she wised up and buys them. :rotfl: I'm not a big meat eater, so I prefer the chile and cheese ones.
Darn, now I'm really craving one..... :rolleyes1

I'll be spending my weekend cleaning. How is it that my house starts the week near spotless on Sunday and by Friday afternoon it is in desperate need of care. :confused3

Join the club. When I was little my family and extended family used to do a lot together, But once a lot of the grandkids hit preteen age, everything changed. There's just soooo much drama and gossip, so I try to stay away . Believe it or not, I'm actually one of the most normal people in my family .

Last Thanksgiving and this Easter I was in WDW to avoid the family get togethers. This Christmas, I'll probably be in labor or have a newborn so that will be my excuse .

And I thought I was the only one that avoided family at the holidays....;)

so I guess now I'm going to have to go out and buy a Wi so I can join in all the Mario Kart fun??????

BTW, I bought a mini-laptop from Dell--it is SOOOOO awesome. It came on the day I left for WDW so my assistant overnighted it to me in Florida--it was so easy to set up--only 8.9" screen. Mostly good for email and web browsing although I am going to attempt to download Word onto it.

Beth--I may be coming to Vegas for a meeting next week . . . . but unfortunately will be flying in in the morning and flying out that night! :sad1:

I've been considering getting one of those mini-laptop things. They look too cute not to mention how much lighter they are for travel purposes.... Maybe for a Christmas present to myself. :goodvibes

Hi ladies! I'm back from a full day of homeschool co-op and I need a nap. :faint:

I skimmed, and see y'all have been talking about tamales and Mario Kart on the Wii. I LOVE LOVE LOVE tamales. Just bought a dozen at the farmer's market last weekend. But I do not have the patience or energy to make them.

Dan's family is Polish and they do a traditional Polish Christmas Eve each year with hand-making Perogi & Kielbasa and lots of Polish pastries. It's an all day project for 20 minutes of gut-busting gluttony. :rotfl:

Oh, and I completely SUCK at MarioKart. I mean really, really pathetic. :sad2:

Ok, I have a bout a dozen emails to read through and answer and laundry and dinner to get done, so TTFN!

I love Perogi. The one thing I remember besides the drama of my family was the Perogi we had every year on Christmas Eve. I need to see if I can find the recipe for them. My kids haven't had them in some time now.

Hmm.

Well I grew up making homemade raviolis. Actually didn't make them very much, just remember eating them. :lmao: My Grandmother was full Italian.

So last year I decided it was time to start up the tradition again. Stayed at a cabin over Christmas with all of my children and their spouses. :cloud9:
On Christmas Eve, we rolled pasta and stuffed them for our dinner the next day. We had so much fun, but it is alot of work too. :faint:

I'd love to make my own pasta. So much I want to do and so little time....Why does work have to get in the way of all the fun stuff...

I'm in. :thumbsup2 I have 2 girls and we haven't done this. I value my sanity in the occupying of my kids. We end up at Ariel's for lunch when we go. They see some Princesses and we get to eat....and most importantly we're all happy.

I'll go with the majority on the breakfast time. As for the phone bill you are much better than I would have been. I'm so not looking forward to when my kids are that age. I'll end up like this :scared: ...probably more than once.

Okay I think I'm caught up...

Yours stays clean til Friday???

LOL My kids make quick work of mine. It doesn't last long at all.

We went to Ariel's for the first time this last time, and I loved it! I'd even go there again.
As for the PFF, I wonder when would be a good time to do it? Looking at the schedule, I'm thinking on Friday morning since the rest of the days have plans already. I guess we'll see. As long as we can squeeze it in somewhere. princess:

So, I guess I should count myself lucky at this point. My DS loves the princesses... actually, he likes any pretty girl and princesses fit that mold. However, we have only done PFF once due to how long the line normally is, and the fact that my usually extremely patient husband (i'm the highstrung one in the family) has zero patience for lines at Disney.

A true lowpoint in our relationship happened during our very first DL trip back in 2002... Indy was down the entire first day we were there and so the next day we ended up doing standby (I know, I know, but it was my first visit and I didn't know any better!) and with the lines and periodic breakdowns we ended up waiting almost 3 hours for the ride.

Since then, any line over 30 minutes is right out. And PFF came very close to breaking him when we were there for Halloween. I can honestly say that I am not certain how soon we'll be allowed to visit PFF again, so I am excited to go with all of you!

After raising a princess, I wanna be a princess, too.princess:

Count me in, Beth! We can all be a princess:cutie:

And I vote for around 9ish for the breakfast. But, I will go with whatever the crowd decides.:thumbsup2

And for the holidays, we have several family members to visit. It seems like such a chore but after it is all over, we are so glad we got to see everyone and spend some quality time. Family...as crazy as some are...are still family.:flower3:

OMG, 3 hours???? Wow. I think the longest I ever waited was for Splash Mountain shortly after it opened. We waited for a little over 2 hours.
Never again!!! LOL

That is so true. :)

OK, so it seems we have a couple interested in doing PFF. I'll add it to the schedule for Friday morning? Unless anyone else can think of a better time? :confused3 I know early is better and it seems like a nice way to start off the day. princess:
But if anyone has a better idea, please let me know. I won't be making a list, whomever wants to go can just meet up there in the morning. Or we can head over as a group from the hotel, either way.

Hope you're all having a good day so far!!! :)

I'm picturing a bunch of hungover princesses! :rotfl:

LOL--by the way, I am going to DL this weekend and hoping the see the Monkey Bride this time~

I hope you see her! Do you remember where to look for her? She's on the left hand side in the room with all the presents (the room where the usual bride is), she's sitting on a rocking chair. I hope you see her!

:rotfl2: Nothing a little concealer and a fake smile won't hide. Just like the Princesses at PFF do I'm sure. :rolleyes1

Add some coffee and red bull to my prescription and I might even let my picture get taken! :rotfl:

Ok, dare I ask......what is the Monkey Bride?

The monkey bride is the coolest ever! She comes out when the NBC overlay comes out. She's dressed as a bride and has a glowing red heart.
