Good Evening Everyone!

I've had a great day! I got my hair done with my friend, and then we went out for Sushi. (I was going to share with you Fairykin, but you already got lunch from someone else!) Then we went to a local antique mall, and I added 3 new spoons to my antique spoon collection. They look really great in a display case in the dining room.

Now, I'm home and relaxing. I have to work Tomorrow and Friday. Yuck, but I need money to join you all!

So, who has finished their Christmas shopping! :rotfl:

I have one person done. It's going to be here before we know it. :santa:

I think they exaggerated the bedroom scenes for the movie. The book is very subtly sexual and I think it really does have some morals to it (sex after marriage, etc)

Yeah, but isn't that just like Hollywood "sexing" things up.
Ugh, the scene in the book is so cute.

Oh Ugh! I am not good at getting my shopping done early. But, I have started. I was able to get into ToysRus for a special where you bought a $100 toy, got a $40 toy free. I had a $10 off coupon and got a $10 giftcard, so felt like I did okay for my $90 which will give me 2 presents for my Nov. Birthday boy and 1 Xmas present.

Also, when attending a scrapbooking weekend (I do one a year), I not only finished my 2005 Disney Trip album, which turned out awesome if I say so myself, but I also figured out a plan for the boys special Disney pins from the same trip. The sold a frame that has cloth covered magnetized background, with a nice white antiqued frame, with knobs and a ribbon running across the lower 1/3 of the frame. The idea is that you insert a page with pictures, or maybe a calendar, which are held on by these decorative magnets, and then use little clips to attach a note or something to the frame. But I inserted a picture of the boy with Pluto, from Goofy's Kitchen, and they were wearing their lanyards and pins. Then I took the pins and attached them to the ribbon on front. Each frame held about 5 or 6 pins. I have to say they turned out awesome and the creative memories gal took pictures to send into the company to share the idea. I was so darn proud of myself!

Oh, and I used a new program that they sell, on the consultants computer, because I don't want to shell out the $60 for it yet, to make my son's bday invites. We imported a picture of Yoda, made a speech bubble and said, "Come you will to a party. Padawan Nathan is turning 6" Then all the details. I showed my son when I got home, and he jumped up and down and said I was the best Mom ever. Very cool. Now my creative juices are flowing and I am trying to figure out how to make a "pin the light saber on the Jedi" game.

Anyhow, don't know why I am so chatty today. Goodnight!

Tracey, it's ok, we like chatty! :) All of that sounds so creative and so unlike me. LOL I am hopeless with all that sort of stuff, but good for you! You should be proud. :thumbsup2 And your son's b-day sounds like it's going to be really fun!

Sounds great! I wish I had known about the Toys R Us event. I haven't even started shopping for my boys yet! :scared1:

Your pin holder picture frame sounds great! We got this frame at WDW in 2005. Have you seen any like it at DLR? It's great! The black is a really think foam like material that the pins stick into. I love this frame, but need to find a better pic for it!

I have the Storybook Creator Plus software from Creative Memories and have made a couple of books with it for my oldest son. Is that the porgram you used? It's so easy and so much fun! Plus you get to score major points with your kid for making really cool birthday stuff. :goodvibes What a great mom!

Man, all you scrapbookers! I have so much scrapbooking stuff, and hardly have any pages done! I just don't seem to have the motivation to do it.

Heather, I love that frame. I'm just not very creative, I need help!!

I'm off to bed ladies! Good night, and I might not be on much this weekend. I have to work alot. Why do I have to be so darned responsible!

Have a great trip Stacie just in case I don't get to talk to you again before you leave.

Sweet Dreams everyone! ;) :cloud9:

Well, funny part about me, is that I started scrapbooking 12 years ago when my oldest son was born, and I just finished his 1st year book, and then I have now finished my 2005 disney trip. That's it, in 12 years. I do have 3 other books started. I am sort of motivated, but it is really difficult to find the time.

Sounds great! I wish I had known about the Toys R Us event. I haven't even started shopping for my boys yet! :scared1:

Each year I am forced to face my demons by my son's Nov. Bday. I have to consider both Xmas and Bday at the same time to plan for budget etc.

I love that frame, and will buy something like that for my/family pins on our next trip. Love your pins! I did use Story book creator plus. It is an awesome program. I have the previous version, which I paid $40 for, so now I am ticked that I have to pay another $60. Seems like they could offer an upgrade price, even if it was $5.00 difference.:sad2:

Actually, I have a confession. I am fairly chatty. But...I usually have my 5 year old hanging on my arm, which makes typing difficult. It is all I can manage to click and read. And then I have this big 1 year old puppy that really wants to play all the time, so she comes and puts her big paw in the middle of my laptop and invariably closes the window or shuts off the power right in the middle of a message. So, you can see, this message is really a miracle.

Oh, and by the way, I am really not very creative at all, but I recognize great ideas and steal them, adapt them and make them mine with no qualms at all.

I do wish I had the talent or the money to do custom disney clothes for my boys. They are so darling, and I know that even my big one would wear them while at DL.

Okay, this daylight savings time is killing me. I was up at 4:30 yesterday and today. And my farmer 5 year old is right there with me, so it's not like I get any peace or anything!

Hey, big moment for me. I figured out how to multi-quote! There is no stopping me now:woohoo:

Hope you all have a great day!

My christmas shopping is all done and gift wrapped:santa:

i just have to decide what i'm going to bake/cook for the holiday season.

Tamales for sure. { some red chili pork} { some green chili chicken} { and refried bean and asado cheese with a strip of long green chili}

Cut out sugar cookies with handpainted buttercream frosting

fudge with and without nuts

rock candy

peanut brittle

cheese balls

hhmmmm... i need to get to work getting recipes together and making grocery lists.:upsidedow

What a cute message Tracey!
It's a great sign of inventiveness to build on a good idea.

:rotfl: It's funny when babies wake up early and don't know why.. they sit there wide eyed and look around like what's up with this...

For sure they are Not going back to sleep.. and not leaving your side... :cool1:

Yes, but my baby is turning 6! Your baking list looks fabulous! Used to do that before kiddos. I think I can get back to doing it again, but I have gained like 60 pounds since having kids, and really don't need all those delicous baked goods challenging my self control!

Wendy, I found something for you! :lmao: Maybe you can go to the mall and ask Santa. :santa:

2. I am getting my hair done in 1 wk!! YAY!! Its so in need of help!!
3. I haven't even started shopping. My oldest will be with his dad in Indiana for Christmas. He has bought most of the his list already. I am not sure whats left for me. Except that I might redo his bedroom while he is gone.
Paint, new blankets, a fat head, make it more grown up.
I am getting a family present a Wii (ok so really that is what I want, and Wii fit!! and Mario Karts)

My christmas shopping is all done and gift wrapped:santa:

Wow - I am so impressed! I have most of my shopping done, but not wrapped yet.... How do you make tamales?? We love Mexican food, but beyond making tacos I am lost. I would love to learn how to make yummy tamales. Any recipes you can share??? If I beg a little bit, pretty please???

Jordansmom.. wouldn't that be fun to be able to have a disboard christmas party..but i'd want it caterered so we could enjoy it:lmao:

QueenBillaBong... here is the recipe i use everyyear.. i think it's a SUPERGREAT recipe.
http://www.sonofthesouth.net/tamales/Tamale_Recipe.htm

what i like about it, is that it is organised.. broken down into clear instructions.. and they come out tasting really really good.

As for the fillings i mentioned.. i just take some Herdes green sauce bottle or can mix it with a roasitarie chicken deboned and maybe grate in a little asado {white mexican cheese}.. and the refried beans.. i buy some charro beans at a local mexican eattery then refry them..grate some asado cheese.. and lay slices of freshly roasted hatch green chili's over the masa.

so the bean ones are layered in application.
the chicken ones are a mixture with the green chili chicken and cheese.
and the roast pork are instructed in the link provided.

If *i* can make that tamale recipe..anyone can.

Plus it's really nice to be able to go into the freezer and pull out a bag of tamales ..lay them in the fridge..make some chili con queso.. and a pot of beans or rice for a yummy dinner.

I am getting a family present a Wii (ok so really that is what I want, and Wii fit!! and Mario Karts)

We got my son a Wii last Christmas and play Mario Kart a lot! Do you know we could play online together? I need to remind Callie of that, since she how has Mario Kart! I still need to get the Wii Fit!

here is the recipe i use everyyear.. i think it's a SUPERGREAT recipe.
http://www.sonofthesouth.net/tamales/Tamale_Recipe.htm

Thanks for posting that recipe, I've never made them but would love to try! I have a friend who makes them every Christmas, she is making them this Saturday, apparently it's an all-day family thing. She shares, so that's good, too!!
