I htought you were borrowing mine! :confused3

It really doesn't matter as long as you save money!

DH and I are taking a break. Things are in order, and I think the actual move will go smoothly tomorrow. :upsidedow

I would love to...I just hadn't seen a reply from you when I asked to borrow it a couple days ago. When are you coming in? Does anyone know if they will hold your stuff before you actually check in?

Sarah

Warning!! Long multi-quote reply!

I need to know if I'm going Glenda, Miss Universe, Miss America, Cinderella, or Little Miss Sunshine!
They all sound great!! princess:

SpaceMountain_000.jpg
I love all of those rides!! I'll go with you! (I had to erase most of pictures. I was way over my image limit!)

That's okay Mel. Sounds like you're really busy. If there's one thing that us moms of special needs kids knows, it's patience.

Hope your daughter and her team does well in the volleyball tournament.
Thankyou! She did pretty good. It was her first time doing a city league tournament. It makes for looooooooooooooong day.:faint:

Ok, talked to my friend today at church. She said that her DD gets the tickets through the case worker for her children. Also mentioned that Disney is the one they go through to get the tickets. I am anxiously waiting for her to call me back with more names to pass along to you guys.

I think my first concert was Donavon. Or Bobby Sherman.
The Monkees were mine!! :lmao:

Am I the only one in the group who is a ride kind of person? You know, the kind of person that likes to get on as many rides as possible.

I guess I haven't gotten to the point of wanting to sit back and people watch, or wanting to watch any of the shows more than once, or getting autographs from all the characters, or.......

Nope, I just want to go on rides. (Although I will watch the fireworks and Fantasmic over and over again. Love those shows!)

Is that strange for a pushing 40 year old woman? I have a feeling I know what the answer is.:goodvibes
Well soon enough I will let you in on my age. But just because I believe I am the oldest, does not mean I don't like the thrill rides. I love all rides EXCEPT.............Maliboomer, the Sunwheel of falling off into the water, Mullholland Madness, and Tea Cups.

I like doing a lot of rides too! And with children as young as mine this is a great chance to do the big rides as well as shopping. I am trying to figure out in our schedule if there is going to be time for rides!

Sarah
I have wondered when we were going to have time for the rides too. :rotfl2:

Im sure it looks great.
::yes::

My friend is coming from Phoenix and I haven't seen her in over 12 years (since my wedding!)
I know it is too late for them to get in on all the action but they are okay with that. They will room together so don't worry Debra - I am still roomies with you! ;)
Beth - Is it too late to get them added to the 5pm sitting for the CC on Friday? I noticed there is one spot open - can we squeeze two in? Shall I P
Welcome to our 2 new ladies!!

Ta da.. make way for QUEEN melody!
:wave2:

Debra and I are scheduled to land in Orange County at 1:49pm on Thursday. I'm not sure what Deb has planned, but I was planning on hitting the parks and getting in as many rides as I can before the pizza party. I figured Thursday would be our best day for lower crowds and more ride time.

Do you or any of the other ladies want to meet up somewhere Thursday afternoon and hit some rides?
If Wendy and I get there in plenty of time, I'm sure we would love to join you! :grouphug:

I'm not doing laundry today. Instead I'm cleaning house, getting ready for a Super Bowl party tomorrow.

This next one is for Beth.

Love the images!

I was born in 1977.
Um.....the same year my oldest son was born. :faint:

I'm feeling older as the posts are added...

1970
Oh Good grief Bernice!! :sad2:

But screamin, Tower you name it I am a go!
Me too!! :hyper:

It's going to be a blast and I cannot wait for March! Whooooo hooooo!!!

You are the one we should be thanking everday!!!

Thankyou!!! :thanks:

I'll go have a dum-dum while I wait. . . . :smokin:

So far, there's only 3 people who are older than me: Cheryl, Melody, and Amy.
:sad2:

I am afraid I am the oldest one.
I don't think so!

I was born in 1985.
:snooty:

One of my biggest regrets is that I never got to see the Monkees in person--LOL. That Davy Jones--now there was a man!
Well I did see them. :cool1:

"Hey, Hey Were the Monkees..........."

Hey, hey............I wonder if Wendy would like them? :rotfl:

And Jen (grizbuzz) is running a marathon today!! Let's cheer her on!!
:cheer2:

We're having a Super Bowl party at my house, so I won't have time to chat much today. I need to vacuum a bit more, and then get the "Junk Food and Beer" buffet put together. Nothing like holding a calorie fest for friends and family. Should be FUN!

HAPPY SUPER BOWL EVERYONE!
Have a super fun day!

DH and I are taking a break. Things are in order, and I think the actual move will go smoothly tomorrow.
Hope you had a nice break! :thumbsup2

Hey girls!!

I have been busy with church stuff allllll day long. Now I have homework. I miss having a weekend to do nothing.

Pretty soon I will be doing nothing but having a blast with my dis buds.

I would love to...I just hadn't seen a reply from you when I asked to borrow it a couple days ago. When are you coming in? Does anyone know if they will hold your stuff before you actually check in?

Sarah

Sarah, the HoJo will hold your stuff for you, but they will want you to pre-register which includes giving your cc information. I don't think it will be a problem if you don't have the ent. card at that point. Just let them know that your roommate has the card and you will provide it at checkout. :thumbsup2

Woohoo!! Another person to ride rides with!! I know that Nemo is not the most popular ride with the adults...I just have to try it though.:hyper: In June the line was sooooo long, I was not willing to stand there with a 3 year old without DH there to help me keep her occupied.

The Nemo ride at Epcot was a blast....I am hoping it is similar. I really enjoyed it.

I love the Monkees! I used to watch the TV show with my parents when I was little. I used to love Mike Nesmith (I think that is his name). He wore that beanie all the time. I used to love that song, The Last Train to Clarksville.:cool1: Oh, and Pleasant Valley Sunday.:thumbsup2

Hey all

Happy SuperBowl Sunday!

The Nemo Ride at DLR has some elements that are similar to the one at Epcot, but they are really two different experiences, especially since you have that huge tank at Epcot.

Although I do like the one at DLR, I'd have to give the nod to Epcot on this one. :)

As for the ride itself, we really like it, especially being in the submarine experience. In my opinion, it adds to the attraction.

And Robert stole one of MY drink tickets (that, um, he earned by working there) to have an orange juice/seltzer water, grr....

OK I'm freezing and need to put some arnica all over my toes. I wore those evil DVC function shoes (toocherie and, hmm, califgirl (is that right, Cheryl? is that who was there, too?) know the shoes I'm talking about), thinking "eh, I've broken them in now, it'll be OK", and I was so so SO wrong. :sad2: So off I go, hobbling down the hall, shivering as I go. 'night!

Robert stole a drink ticket for a NON-ALCOHOLIC drink? What was he thinking? (and yes, it was Chris-Califgirl that you met)

I plan on being there right after I drop DD off at school. She likes to be at school by about 7:15, then it just depends on traffic. A ride that can take me less than 10 mins can take longer when there is morning rush.

I have never done the observation room and want too. I didn't care for the subs.

Ok--we'll do the observation room! It's actually kinda cute (and much more comfy than the subs, I'm sure).

But anyway I too would love to thank everyone for their hard work. I normally would have volunteered to help more but this year I've had a lot on my plate. I did tell Shane though that he better prepare that this is probably going to be an ongoing thing. I know you guys went last year and you have the vegas trip planned and that I am sure this won't be the last trip and if there is another trip in the future I am in so he better prepare for it! So I will most likely be more help in the future. This was just a bad time for me but I promise to be more help next time!!

Kelly--don't worry, there will be lots of volunteering opportunities in the future! We all have periods where we just can't take on one more thing so don't feel bad! Good that you're preparing hubby for the future trips. :thumbsup2

I would love to...I just hadn't seen a reply from you when I asked to borrow it a couple days ago. When are you coming in? Does anyone know if they will hold your stuff before you actually check in?

Sarah

Sarah: they do have a luggage room so I'm sure this won't be a problem.

So everybody: I met with Michelle and Stacy (and their DDs) this morning (over beignets :hyper: ) and we pretty much got things pinned down on the pizza party. We are just checking a couple of prices, but then should be able to give you guys a cost (it will be under $10 it's looking like). We will give more details later. But it's really coming together! And then, as we were almost done, Dawn (fairykin) and her hubby Bob came by--it was so great to get to meet them! We had planned to go over to Toy Story and ride it but we we tried to go through the "secret entrance" from the Grand Cal and the CM::cop: wouldn't let us in because we didn't have a hotel key or a receipt from Storyteller's --well, I hadn't planned to go into the parks so I hadn't worn very comfortable shoes, so the thought of walking all the way back around was just too much for me--so I took my leave from the group in the lobby of the Grand Cal (where I rested for a few minutes). Thus, I have nothing more to report about what they did. I'm sure Stacy or Michelle (or both!) will be along shortly to tell us (I hope!).

I did, however, stop at the caramel corn cart and bought some (but still haven't eaten any of it). We were smelling it while we were sitting there planning the party and Stacy and I were drooling! LOL

Anyway, I am not watching the Super Bowl--thought about having friends over but none of my friends are football fanatics and it just sounded like too much work. Instead, I'm going to take my Mom out for Mexican food and then come home and chill.

So, talk to you guys later!

Oops--I'm back--a few more things to respond to:

yep, Mike Nesmith is correct. We have a winner (ding ding ding ding ding). Actually, he was probably the "smartest" of the boys--he ended up making quite a bit of money in business I believe--he was on the cutting edge of the video revolution if I recall . . . . The other Monkees were Peter Tork and Mickey Dolenz.

You're younger than my parents AND my in-laws.:flower3: To me, you are not old AT all! 50 is the new 40.::yes::

Now THIS is an intelligent woman who is up to speed on all modern things.

Hey all

Well, even though I haven't ridden the subs since the Nemo reincarnation, I have done the WDW ride and the Observation Room (a "fake" sub ride) and the rides are very different in some ways, but have some of the same themes.

That is good to know! Thanks Mary Jo! (hey that rhymes! LOL)

I used to love the subs when I was a kid...I was sad when they were gone.

I don't think I'll EVER catch up on this thread, but here's some on me:

I was born in 1960, and will be 49 on March 14th (the week AFTER the ladies weekend). I don't feel 49, though (although I'm not sure what 49 is supposed to feel like, lol).

I had my first one at 27, and he's 21, and my youngest 14 months later, and she turns 20 on March 8th (during the big weekend).

First concert was John Denver, though we saw a lot of "concerts" at Knotts Berry Farm back in the days when they had performances there & at Disneyland. I think the last concert I went to was Trans Siberian Orchestra a couple of years ago, and they were awesome.

I like the whole experience - rides/attractions/parades/shows -- I like it all. I'm not really into meeting the characters, though I love to watch their interaction, especially with the young & innocent. I've been to DL so many times that I don't really have one favorite thing to do. I think right now I enjoy watching the pleasure everyone else gets when they are there.

I just can't relax there. Everytime I walk through those gates, I feel the need to get as much done as possible, since we're only there for a finite period of time. My family just doesn't wait in line to meet characters and such (unless the line is really short), because we feel like we're wasting valuable time. They would rather ride Star Tours 6 times in a day, Big Thunder 7 times in a day, Space Mountain 3 times in a day, ect.

I will have to ride Pirates on our trip though. It's a classic I just can't miss. (Although I do understand what you're saying). I also want to go through the castle walk-thru, and check out the changes on IASW (although that rides annoys me just a little).

I'm all for NOT waiting in long lines!
IASW..kinda freaks me out...I have never been on it.

I was born in 1978... He He He

Looks good to me! I will do those things with you!
Hey I was born in 1978 also.
I will be 31 in 27 days.

Wow! You ladies are chatty this morning!
I am home doing laundry also :laundy: (have wanted to use this smiliey also :) )
But of course with 4 kids I am ALWAYS doing laundry!:rotfl:
And good news for me! I have been talking to my sister and a good friend about this awesome ladies only trip to DL and they have decided to join us! :cool1:
My friend is coming from Phoenix and I haven't seen her in over 12 years (since my wedding!)
I know it is too late for them to get in on all the action but they are okay with that. :thumbsup2 They will room together so don't worry Debra - I am still roomies with you! ;)
Beth - Is it too late to get them added to the 5pm sitting for the CC on Friday? I noticed there is one spot open - can we squeeze two in? Shall I PM you?
Well I got to go run some errands! :moped:

I am glad you didn't forget about me!

Debra and I are scheduled to land in Orange County at 1:49pm on Thursday. I'm not sure what Deb has planned, but I was planning on hitting the parks and getting in as many rides as I can before the pizza party. I figured Thursday would be our best day for lower crowds and more ride time.:hyper: :cool1: :hyper:

Do you or any of the other ladies want to meet up somewhere Thursday afternoon and hit some rides? :cheer2: ::yes::

I am good for going on rides on Thursday. I don't have any plans.

I just turned 30 in December. There are days that I feel like I am and there are days that I feel younger.

My first real concert was NKOTB.

Thanks to everyone that has been in on the planning of this trip.

steph
NKTOB & Tiffany was my first concert.

Geez......I go see the fights last night and come here this morning and it seems like you ladies have been talking non stop. Damn!

Not stripper shoes. Take away the shoes part of that, and put it on a support ribbon and that will be pretty much it. And yeah, I did it all on my own. ;) Isn't that right Beth???

I plan on being there right after I drop DD off at school. She likes to be at school by about 7:15, then it just depends on traffic. A ride that can take me less than 10 mins can take longer when there is morning rush.

My first concert was Stacey Q opening for the Jets. My parents took me. The first real concert I went to where I stood in line for tickets was Bon Jovi.

I have never done the observation room and want too. I didn't care for the subs.

Well my all have to do with poop, butts or hooters. Be glad.

Thought about you yesterday. DD bought dum-dums to pass out to friends for V-Day.

Just remember to bring dry socks and you will be all good.

Damn wipper-snapper.

I won't say when I was born, but it was no way the 60's. DD once asked me if I enjoyed the groovy times. She thought I was that old. She also can't believe that I owned the first Green Day album. She seems to think they are a newer hipper younger group. No way could "mom" have listened to them back in the day.

Ok ladies. Have fun! I am on my way to DLR to meet up with Cheryl and Michelle, and maybe Dawn. Bye. :wave2:

I went to watch the fights last night. Crazy! But so much fun!!

Hello all!

I am home and I am exhausted. Late night/early morning, just isn't working for me now. So as Cheryl stated earlier, we met to plan the pizza party with Michelle. Michell's DD and my DD were also there. We got lots of planning done and things are really coming together now.

Right when we were finishing up, Dawn and her DH come "rolling up" on us :lmao: So all of us headed into DCA. Cheryl left us before we made it into the park though. We grabbed fast passes for Soarin then headed over to TSMM. Unfortunately, it was down. So the "girls" went on the Jellyfish ride and we all did the Zephyr. The six of us had a wonderful lunch at WCT. It was delish. We walked around some then headed over to Soarin to use our fast passes. By this time the day was half over. So I had to bail on them. I was really glad to have the time to hang with them all and to meet Dawn and her DH.

Now I am fighting off sleep and trying to get some homework done. We will see what happens.

That is cool that you all got to meet Dawn.

I am busy with homework too..so I feel your pain.:sad1:

Thanks for the link January! I have been waiting for another sale to order. (I was going to make it, but am running out of steam.) I predict that I will win $5 off since I said no, and DH said yes. :thumbsup2

Sarah, we get in at 11:25am, and I would think we'll be at the hotel no later than 1pm. Once I get moved and settled, I can mail you my card if you pm me your address. Then you can return it to me at the pizza party. :thumbsup2

Talk to you later!

Heather

Ok ladies, here is some info I got from my friend. I hope this is the official place.
http://csdr-cde.ca.gov/2008/08/29/disneyland-community-program-for-guest-with-disabilities/

I realize that this is for California, but I'm sure your states should have this program also.

Here is an example of a particular website that shows the ordering information for tickets. This is just one group as far as I can tell.
www.pwcf.org/pages/1disney.htm

So ask your child's doctor, or support group for more info on this. They are the ones who can probably start connecting you to the right place.

Good luck!:flower3:
