Thanks for the link January! I have been waiting for another sale to order. (I was going to make it, but am running out of steam.) I predict that I will win $5 off since I said no, and DH said yes. :thumbsup2

Sarah, we get in at 11:25am, and I would think we'll be at the hotel no later than 1pm. Once I get moved and settled, I can mail you my card if you pm me your address. Then you can return it to me at the pizza party. :thumbsup2

Talk to you later!

Heather

That was Jane who offered the link. ;) But you're welcome, anyway.:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

IASW..kinda freaks me out...I have never been on it.

I've never been on IASW either...... But I definitely will this trip :thumbsup2 I hope it doesn't freak me out...

Right when we were finishing up, Dawn and her DH come "rolling up" on us :lmao: So all of us headed into DCA. Cheryl left us before we made it into the park though. We grabbed fast passes for Soarin then headed over to TSMM. Unfortunately, it was down. So the "girls" went on the Jellyfish ride and we all did the Zephyr. The six of us had a wonderful lunch at WCT. It was delish. We walked around some then headed over to Soarin to use our fast passes. By this time the day was half over. So I had to bail on them. I was really glad to have the time to hang with them all and to meet Dawn and her DH.

How fun! Can I just say how I wish I was in Disneyland right now???

And Beth THANK YOU!!! for doing most of the work. We would not have a trip without you. So yay, Beth :cheer2:

That is cool that you all got to meet Dawn.

I am busy with homework too..so I feel your pain.:sad1:
I am so tired of homework. I still have 2 more years or longer.

I don't know why it freaks me out...its just creepy..but clowns scare the hell out of me!!

DITTO!!!

DITTO!!!

I have about 2 more years. It won't be long before I have to do my internship and then student teaching. Not to mention the Praxis (which I heard is getting revamped and will be even HARDER):sad2: . It seems like it will never end.

What are you in school for?

Count me in also! 1970!:thumbsup2 I like having a birthday in an even decade - easier to remember how old you are!

YEP!:rotfl2:

I just had to take a minute to say thank you to everyone of you who is helping out with this trip. I was thinking how smoothly all the plans are going so far, and I know it's going to be a great trip because each of you has contributed to it in some way.

And last but not least, thank you to each one of you who have signed up to go and have participated here on the thread and added your thoughts, ideas, opinions and excitement!!

It's going to be a blast and I cannot wait for March! Whooooo hooooo!!!

aww, Thank YOU!! We wouldn't have this without ya!:flower3:

The only 2 rides I won't do are Mullholland Madness (rode it once and did not enjoy it) and the Teacups--because I do not think that puking equals fun times!

I have never been on GRR and I have only done Splash once because I don't think that walking around in wet clothes is fun either, but I will pack a poncho for the March trip as I have been told by Beth that not riding those two rides is not a option!

Shudder.. I detest Mulholland tight squeeze Madness. Not into the Wheel of Death either, but I'm good with everything else.

hmm, except for GRR. I like it, it doesn't like me. Rather my skin and GRR do not agree. I break out in a horrible itchy rash from the water in GRR. But not on Splash, which I adore as single rider. Love having people take a double look when I cross that bridge and hop right into a log :thumbsup2

I love how we are such a fun and accepting group that it doesn't matter how old (or young) anyone is, they are still welcome.:grouphug:

::yes::

Not stripper shoes. Take away the shoes part of that, and put it on a support ribbon and that will be pretty much it. And yeah, I did it all on my own. ;) Isn't that right Beth???
:rotfl: Thanks for the clarification, sorry I missed it. :lmao:

Hang in there!!

Hubby had the same feelings, took him almost 6 years to finish. But he did stuck to it and now he LOVES teaching!
Which parts of the Praxis will you be taking?
Hubby had to take the basic ones for reading/ writing /math to start student teaching (Praxis I). For certification (Praxis II) he had PLT K-6, Elementary Ed Content and Middle School Science.
One tip I read about the MS Science that was extremely beneficial to hubby, use a GED science test guide to study. Some of the SAME questions used in the GED guide were on the MS Science Praxis test! :thumbsup2

Good luck! :flower3:

Hi everyone!
First of all, thank you for all the thank yous!! :rotfl2: That sounds weird but you know what I mean. I think we have a great group here so we should all pat ourselves on the back.

Stacie and Cheryl, I'm glad to hear you had a nice time this morning and that things are really coming together now. Cool you got to meet up with Dawn and her DH too.

I had a great time with Jane and Amy. I found my tote at the Disney outlet!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: And some fun theme things to go in it. It's got a whole theme going on. :rotfl:
And lunch was really good. Tommy Bahama Cafe was like going to an island resort for a while. :goodvibes

I went shopping afterward and ran into another DISer! Well, I didn't know it at the time. I was shopping and the lady paying next to me had the cutest wallet with Mickey heads on it. I wanted to comment on it but was too shy to say anything. Well, when I got home there was a PM from her. Apparently she is a DISer and recognized me from my TR pics and she was pretty sure it was me but too shy to say hi.
So we had a little DIS meet without even knowing it!! :rotfl2: Guess it really is a small world after all and you just never know when you'll run into someone. :)

Thank you!

I have a great support system, which is nice. At times, school just seems to consume me.

I believe there are three that I am required to take. I am not 100% positive, though. I have not discussed it too much with my academic advisor, but I know they are coming. I am in school to get my K-8 certification. I will continue on for my master's in reading. My goal is to be a middle school language arts teacher (I KNOW---I am crazy, lol). I enjoy that age group and there is a need for secondary teachers, at least here in Boise.

Good tip on the science study guide...I will make a note of that.:thumbsup2

That is too cool! I guess another reason why we always need to be on our best behavior! :lmao:

BTW - thanks for adding myself and friends to the "newbie" list! :) I need to talk to them about the Thursday night Pizza. I know my sister doesn't eat pizza so we might end up picking up some dinner on the way to HOJO's and then join in on the fun for the candy buffet!

Hi Mommywithdreams!!:flower3:

The majority of us are staying at Hojos.

We would love to meet you sometime. If you see a bunch of crazy ladies with the same t-shirts on, and green lanyards with Tink on them, you know it will be one of us. :wave2:

Be sure to say Hi!! Don't be shy!! :cool1:

I think that at least 95% of us are staying at the HOJO, but I hope to see you in the parks! On the 6th a group of 10 of us will be taking a VIP tour (with a plaid) and will be in red shirts. Then on Saturday the 7th we will all be in white shirts with Tinkerbell on them. So, be on the lookout for those in addition to the lgmh that I am sure most people will also have with them!

Please feel free to take a look at page one and see if there are any activities that you can join us for!

:lmao: I know!! Gee, I hope I didn't pick at a wedgie or anything like that while I was in there. :scratchin :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I hope you all can join us for part of the pizza party. I think they might be doing a salad too, but not sure on that. But definitely gotta come for the candy buffet so the three of you can be like this all night :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Hi there!!
I'm so glad to hear you were able to pull off a Disney trip after all. What good news. pixiedust: I hope we do run into you at some point! That would be fun to meet another DISer. Check the front page to see where we'll be and when. Can't be there and not at least say hi right?? ;)

Hi, mommywithdreams!:wave2:

I love your trip reports! Your little guy is a little doll!

Just like the other ladies said...look for a large group of women with matching shirts and lime green mickeys somewhere on their bodies.:rotfl: And the Tink lanyards!:thumbsup2

Yea my first pick was HOJO's but it was booked solid. Dangermouse mentioned that maybe some rooms would open up, but we just decided to go ahead and book Park Vue this time around. It will be nice to be right across the street from the crosswalk. I will definitely keep an eye out for your shirts, which are SOOO adorable this year. I'll take a peek at the schedule and see if anything works out for us.

Does your DH enjoy teaching?

Yes he does!
He teaches 7th and 8th grade science at a K-8 performing arts magnet school in Minneapolis.
We are thankful he has a job, landing a teaching job in MN is difficult due to the amount of competition from more experienced teachers. This is his second year teaching, we lived in California last year..moved back to MN because we missed our family.
Being an "older" (35) inexperienced teacher is a little bit tougher in the job market. But it CAN happen, takes a little more effort to shine and convince administration that you are an excellent choice!

I'm impressed with those who choose middle school teaching, I know I couldn't handle it. :scared:

:goodvibes

What are you in school for?

Nursing. I am applying in April. I got in last year, but I was a little freaked out. I was on the wait list then got in. But i have issues with quitting my job.
but I just applied to WSU's psychology department.

You bet I'll say hi!!!! Last year the DIS trip was a few weeks after we got back so I definitely missed you all then.

And THANK YOU Daisy 77 ..... I feel bad that I never finished that TR from last year. We got home and ended up moving to a new house and things just got chaotic.

Wow, that is so great! I am happy to hear that he got an awesome position when the market is so competitive. I am pretty sure I will either have to teach out of state or work at another district in the area. The Boise Schools are pretty tough to get into. I work as a teaching assistant right now. I am hoping to get my name out there and get some experience working with children. I am grateful for the job I have because they normally only hire people with a degree. So I at least know I have a job assisting if I cannot find a regular teaching position.:goodvibes

California to Minnesota? Wow, what a change! I know what being homesick is like, so I am sure the change is worth it!
