Cheryl, I am so sorry about your mom. I hope everything goes well with surgery and everything. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your mom.![]()
THANKS FOR ALL OF THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!
Thin mints are my favorite!!
I would like one please.
Ok ladies, now I really need prayers and pixie dust--big time.
a little surprised to see me here at 3:30 a.m.? wasn't I supposed to be at Disneyland with my Mom? Well, I was. We checked into the Paradise Pier at 3-ish and went over to guest services and turned in her Costco voucher and got her new annual pass and gift card,. Then we went to DCA and tooled around--took in the Bug show and had a late lunch/early dinner at the Pacific Wharf Cafe. It was starting to get cold--and lines were really long, so around 7-ish we decided to head back over to the hotel. We were almost at the hotel and she was behind me--and all of a sudden I heard this crash. How it happened I don't know--but she had toppled over on her scooter into the street!@!!!! I guess the incline was too much or something and over she went. She was immediately in a lot of pain and people (non-Disney people) came running from everywhere. It was amazing. One lady ran in the hotel and asked for help and security came out. People were standing around her to make sure a car didn't pull into the hotel and hit her lying on the ground. Security said a nurse was on her way and she would examine my Mom and make an assessment of whether paramedics were necessary. Well, I could tell from her moans that they were necessary so I told him to just call them--which he did over his radio. Security people kept arriving, then the fire dept. arrived then two nurses arrived. One lovely lady (a complete stranger) was sitting with my Mom this whole time holding her leg up to keep it from hurting while I was talking to the security/fire/nurse/paramedic people. Of course, they decided to transport her to UCI Medical Center. I took her scooter upstairs and then drove my car to the emergency room. By the time I got in to see her they had already taken x-rays and within minutes they came and told us that her hip was broken and she would need surgery.
The next few hours were doctor after doctor coming in to examine her. Finally around 1:30 a.m. they moved her to a room, where we then had to go through another whole round of questions about her medical condition. I got home about 20 minutes ago and am trying to de-stress enough to go to sleep. I went and checked out of the room. We don't know what time the surgery will be later today. I'm going to try to sleep for a couple of hours then call the hospital for news.
So prayers and pixie dust for my Mom please! (Oh, and the hotel was kind enough to refund all of my money--oh, and one other weird thing--when I came back to the room to put the scooter in before going to the hospital they had given us turn-down service, left three giant Mickey rice crispie treats and many chocolates, a picture of Mickey and Minnie and a towel animal! (well, really a towel cake). I don't know why. I'm really bummed because my Mom would have been really tickled. And I'm feeling terrible that if I hadn't taken her to DL this wouldn't have happened. .. . .
You nut you! What am I going to do with you. Well, I just hope it fits. Think I can lose 15 lbs in 6 days?If not, I'll be owing you a new tee!

(Thank you sweetie. I do appreciate it.)
I am so mad at my dentist. I had some fillings done last week and one of them was hurting me so bad. I couldn't eat anything but "mushy" things. So I went in yesterday and basically when they filled it, they didn't file it down properly so I was pushing right on the filling with each bite.
Anyway, they filed it down and said it should be fine now, BUT that it might continue to hurt for another 1-2 weeks!! Ugh. I can't chew on one side because I have no teeth bottom molars there from the extractions and now the other side is sore and painful.![]()
![]()
So I've got to check what meals I have planned and try to find things on the menu that I can actually chew.I'm not sure if I should keep my spot at Blue Bayou. I don't know what to order there that is soft.
I wanted to eat there for the atmosphere, but if I can't eat what's the point.
Ugh, I'm so annoyed.![]()
I just wanted to let you know that have a small memento for each DL Diva as a keepsake from the trip. It's something tiny that scrapbookers might especially enjoy. Be sure to get one from me sometime during the weekend.![]()
I just wanted to let everyone know that I got off the phone a little bit ago with my BFF. Her DD is out of surgery and is doing well. The surgeon said it went better than they thought it was going to go. The next 24 hours are critical, but the docs have said that everything should go as planned. BFF and her DH are exhausted. One will be staying in the room with the baby, and the other will be staying in the Ronald McDonald house. They also have a 22 month old who is staying with their parents.
Thank you to everyone who prayed and sent good wishes. The family is grateful and thanks you. Please keep them in your thoughts as they go through the recovery now.
I have not dumped Sunday's room.

I wanted to let you all know I'm trying to make cards that will have our daily schedules on them this way we all don't have to carry lots of papers through the parks. My idea is to make the cards double sided and then punch a whole in them so we can put them on our lanyards.
So I'm working on shrinking down the daily schedules from the first page. Let me know if you all are interested in this so I can make one for everyone going.

I LOVE this idea. It looks so cute.![]()
I hate those big, tight collars on some t-shirts.....and those loooooonger sleeves that are supposed to be short sleeves.
I used to do this to my shirts all the time when I was in high school. (An idea I borrowed from the movie "Flashdance" - hahaha!)![]()
I'm so happy to revisit the 80's!
What a feeling! ba-da-ta-ta-ta It's believing! da-duh-ta-ta-ta Sing with me folks!![]()
Nope, you do have to call and ask for it, but since the rest of our group has it, even though it's not listed, I'm sure Lorealle will add it. Or she can bunk with Stacie and Heather, or myself and January as Capri is leaving on Sunday. (good idea Callie!)I remember Beth saying that they said they would change everyone over without needing to call... So it might already be done!
You are so sweet to do this! I love little mementos like that to add to photo albums and such.I just wanted to let you know that have a small memento for each DL Diva as a keepsake from the trip. It's something tiny that scrapbookers might especially enjoy. Be sure to get one from me sometime during the weekend.![]()
Fabulous news!!I just wanted to let everyone know that I got off the phone a little bit ago with my BFF. Her DD is out of surgery and is doing well.
Now you know better then to feel guilty! You take such good care of your mom. I will be thinking of her and you. Keep us updated when you can.So prayers and pixie dust for my Mom please! How nice of you to offer to do this! I won't need one as I'm going to have tons of paperwork anyway. LOL I'm keeping all the lists with me for tours, meals, etc. but I'm sure many others who only need the schedule will love this.I wanted to let you all know I'm trying to make cards that will have our daily schedules on them this way we all don't have to carry lots of papers through the parks. Here's another one!THANKS FOR ALL OF THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!.

OK, you'd think I've never flown before with all of my questions! I always check everything through, so this carry on thing is throwing me.
Do I have to put lipstick/lipgloss/chapstick in my baggie? Is it considered a gel or liquid? It seems like I remember sometime somewhere, where I got in trouble for having chapstick in my pocket. (I'm addicted, I've even told DH to make sure I'm buried with a tube!)
I'm starting a t-shirt cutting revolution! Why don't you all do it first, and let me know how it goes and if you have any tips!![]()

I hope you're not one of those who is always changing their sig and avatar.....(btw, in case it's confusing, I changed my avatar last night - used to be Ariel)
I cut a tee of Noelle's into a v-neck for her 80's Halloween costume. I cut the sleeves shorter too. It turned out great. I'd only suggest using very sharp scissors. Other then that it was easy.I'm starting a t-shirt cutting revolution! Why don't you all do it first, and let me know how it goes and if you have any tips!![]()
