Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Not sure if I should ask this here or on the DVC board. My family is booked in a 2 bedroom villa and the included amenities seems to differ depending what site I check. Is there a mop and vacuum in the room? DD and my mother are immunocompromised so I plan on giving the room a deep clean when we arrive, I've found the floors to be pretty bad on previous stays in other DVC rooms (wipe with a clorox wipe and it turns black). Also, a kettle is only available upon request, is that correct? I saw a picture of the amenity list in the kitchen that lists coffee as an extra expense, is there nothing included with the coffee maker?

:thanks:

There’s a vacuum. I’ve never seen a mop. You can also call and request a deep clean, just means your room might be ready a bit later.

There’s always some coffee with the coffee maker. If you booked with cash through WDW, they’ll restock when you get your daily housekeeping. If booked on points you have to call for supplies when you need them.

I'm renting points, when I booked I didn't think there was a mop but I saw it pop up on a few websites' lists. I've heard of the deep clean request, I'll be honest in that I've always worried it's not as deep as it sounds and that it might impact my room location requests. How far in advance would one need to ask for it and do I call the front desk for that?

There is no mop/bucket in the room (you can request 1) but there should be a vacuum.

Did you book your room on a cash reservation or using DVC points (yours or a broker)? You get room housekeeping service if staying on a cash reservation, and kitchen / bathroom supplies daily. For DVC options, your room is serviced every 4 days, and you will receive a daily "security" check, and the trash emptied.

Yes a Tea Kettle is available as a request from housekeeping.

Do you know if you have booked a two bedroom or a two bedroom lock-off? A 2BR lock-off is a combination of a 1 BR, and a Studio with in internal connecting door? A lock-off will actually have to Coffee drip coffee machines, 10 cup, and a 4 cup.

Both should have an initial amount of coffee supplies of a couple of Joffery Filter/packets for the Drip coffee machine and some tea packets. You are also able to use the "Hey Disney" device to request more. You also are able to purchase larger amounts of coffee supplies, sugar, creamer, half and half in the Beach Club Market Place store in the main building.

DVC points through a broker. I've stayed in DVC rooms before so I'm familiar with the house cleaning schedule, I actually prefer it because if I clean it myself I know it will be to the level I'm comfortable with for DD.

We booked a dedicated 2 bedroom and are planning to do a grocery store trip, I just wasn't sure if the coffee refills cost extra since the pay as you play lists a price for it:

I am strictly a tea drinker but several members of my family drink coffee, both bagged and pods. It's never been a thought before because DH and I would usually just buy refillable mugs for each other but with 7 people it seems a waste.

The policy changed in recent years. You can request as much coffee as you want from Housekeeping, at no charge.

You can request it at any time after the reservation is made, or even at the time of booking, and definitely should place the request before the day you arrive so that Housekeeping is prepared to perform that cleaning on your room, which will be assigned several days before you arrive. Reservations booked on DVC points generally require requests be made via DVC Member Services, but given the nature of this request, you might try Chat on MDE first, giving them your confirmation number. If Chat says they can’t take the request, you’ll need to contact the rental broker and ask them to have the member place the request on your behalf.

OP, check the date on that photo you posted of what's supposed to be in the room. My eyes are bothering me right now, but I think it says 2010? Or maybe 2016? If so, it's pretty old. You used to have to pay for things like extra towels and extra coffee, but the rules changed years ago.

As others have said, no mop, no kettle, but extra coffee is available from housekeeping upon request.

If you do get them to bring you a mop, I wonder how clean it is. Maybe only used for cleaning up big messes, not routine cleaning, so it could be gross.

i think you can get a Swiffer dry + wet mop that comes unassembled in a box. You can buy wet wipes for it, but they all have scents. (Not the big wet jet.) if scent not a problem, at least you would know you are starting with something that's clean. You probably could get walmart or a grocery store to deliver it to the hotel if you're not driving.

I did see the date but there wasn't really anything to compare it to as I guess it's not important enough for people to post online, I'm sure there are some shots of it on youtube but that's more digging than I was willing to do. Like I said, several websites had conflicting information and many do not date the articles on their page which is why I asked here.

I had initially anticipated just buying a mop at the grocery store or shipping one from Amazon. I spoke with the owner of the DVC points I am using and they contacted DVC/the hotel. Disney claimed they deep clean every 2 bedroom villa between stays but have noted on my reservation to use less harsh chemicals for the linens and cleaning and to mark the pillows that have feathers in case of allergies. I'll do a thorough inspection when I'm there and decide what additional cleaning needs to be done besides the usual clorox wipe down.
