Ginger for sea sickness

For our three night trip I brought a 1 liter bottle of ginger ale and a bottle of rum for my twice an evening cocktail. It worked great for me.

We carry GingerChews from Trader Joes or Whole Foods.

Trader Joes has amazing "Triple Ginger Cookies". They are in a clear round container like the "Cat Cookies". There are also Ginger Cat Cookie but they don't seem to me to have as much ginger as the Triple Ginger Cookies. We always bring 1 or 2 containers. They help tremendously!

Whole Foods has lots of ginger products-- gum and chews. You can also pick up ginger products in Asian markets. My mom always used to have dried ginger around our house when I was growing up.

I've heard that you can ask for ginger ale in the MDR's, but if they don't have it and have to get it from a bar they will charge you for it. It is not offered at the drink stations.

Wouldn't you think tho that it being a somewhat effective Seasickness aid, they would have it everywhere on board??:confused3:confused3

They have Sea-Calm seasickness medicine for free at the medical center and guest services. So it isn't really necessary to have free ginger ale.

Why not????

Some folks--many as I seem to be reading--would rather drink Ginger Ale than gobble medication.

And if it works--including me.

Oh hey! Asian markets! Why didn't I think of that? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Totally forgot about the Trader Joe's Ginger Cookies. We usually have those too.
