So we are going on a cruise in December, and I wanted to take a couple of gifts since we are going to try to request and hopefully get the same server we had in May. Well, we have never requested the same server, so in the past we have never brought gifts but I would like to bring a little something this time. I wanted to bring something a little more personal than just candy or whatever, but I understand that homemade things like candy or cookies are not allowed? So I guess I will just have to bring some store-bought candy. But, I saw another poster's suggestion about bringing something that is special and unique to your home state which I really liked. I thought it was a cool idea. BUT, I am from Kentucky, and one of the things we are most famous for is, well, bourbon whiskey
So, my question is, I know I have seen on here that people will grab the little tiny bottles of rum that you can get in port as a gift for the servers that night, so I know it is done. But, I just wanted to know what exactly the policy is on giving them alcohol and them accepting it, because if it is not really allowed then I don't want to do anything that is going to get them in trouble or make them feel awkward having to tell me they can't accept it. I just wanted to get one of the little tiny bottles from the Liquor Barn or whatever and then toss in a couple of Kentucky candies, etc. I wanted to keep it all "consumable" since I understand their living space is very small. Anyways, if anyone has any knowledge about the policy on this, it would be very helpful! Thank you so much!
