Ghosts, and Villians, and Disney, Oh My! An October PTR- Link to TR

Surprise trips are soooo much fun!!!

:wizard::yay:

That day looks like it was so much fun! :yay: :yay:

I'm not sure what's up with your Photobucket... I never resize my pics in there, though. I used to manually resize mine in Corel Paint Shop.

http://www.onthegosoft.com/shrink_pic.htm I've heard this program is good, though.

Was a fun day, but by the end of it all I wanted was sleep!

Maybe I should just resize them before, never thought of that. I'll have to see if I have a program, if not I'll check out the link you sent. Thanks Dana!!:goodvibes

I'm surprised to here the line is EVER short first thing in the morning. As I said, our strategy is I get to the front of the crowd and get the FP, and DD and DW take their time. By the time I have the FP...they are about to get in the standby line. I'm not one of those (many) people that get FP, and then shove through the line to get to their family. Those people p**s me off.

It was that morning!:) Here's hoping the same for us all this trip!

I will share my secret trick for getting into the park, but only by PM, and only IF you promise NOT to share it with anyone else. It's something that if it became common knowledge would either ruin it, or they would stop doing it. (I figure since you might see us there you'll probably learn it anyways - To all others reading this, I apologize...I can't share it with everyone.) Not to build it up, it's not really THAT amazing or anything.

If you can definitely pm me the info, and promise I won't tell.:goodvibes

Great pictures from DHS, BTW. You're kids are so cute. I'm amazed your DD will go on ToT. Ours is basically afraid of any ride she hasn't been on before. And there's no way I'll get her on ToT, even at 7 years old! I still have to ride myself. And she still likes the playhouse Disney show, which I can no longer stand. I've seen it too many times now, plus I liked the older version with Bear and Stanley better. You wanna swap daughters for a few hours? (I'm just kidding!) In December I ended up at PHD with her alone, so I figure DW owes me a showing.

Thanks, this being our 2nd day there I was able to slow down and take some pictures. :laughing:Chloe cracks me up with the things she enjoys. I can't wait until she can ride a real roller coaster. Noah is a little scared of the rides, especially after Dinosaur. He was perfectly happy just going to Playhouse Disney! Hoping this trip he will be ready for ToT, if not I'll meet your wife at PD and you, Chloe, and Chris can go ride ToT!

I don't know if you've have done it before, but the animation academy is really worth doing. DW and DD loved it. DW wants to do it multiple times next trip. Not me, once is enough - I figure perfect opportunity for Tot/RnRC for me!

Nope, haven't done the animation academy. I would really like to do it, but I guess I am worried Noah will throw a fit. He wants nothing to do with coloring or drawing or sitting still when not entertained! Might have to save it for when dh and I travel alone. It still is on the agenda this trip, but who knows if we will do it.

I haven't ridden RnRc since 2000. I so wish the Chloe was tall enough. I really don't want to go single rider, but Chris and I might just switch off this trip!

As far as photobucket...I have never had a problem with it, but I don't re-size any photos in there. I simply download them and use them. If I trim/edit a photo, I do it on my computer first.

Going to have to just resize them before and see if that works. Or maybe just use huge pictures.:confused3 The big pictures of myself scare me a little though:lmao:.

Amazing that you can get your kids to go all day like that, if we did 9 AM to 11 PM, we would have to take the next day off! Ours gets tired so easy, and when she gets tired, she gets stubborn and only will do what SHE wants to do, or basically refuses to move. :sad2: She is so super hard-headed!

Noah will just nap in the stroller. And they never really walk much, so it is never them that is too tired, just me and dh. They can go all day, but it will eventually catch up with them. Starting the next day we slowed down a bit. Chloe is sooo stubborn, but it is usually to go do things, not rest.

I love your DHS pictures!! :lovestruc I want to go back RIGHT NOW! DH and I discovered the Animation Academy on our last trip and absolutely loved it! We ended up going back four times in a row!

Thanks Joni!! Won't be too long for you, atleast now you are in single digits!! Can't wait to try Animation Academy, don't know if we will be going back, I will be amazed if my drawing comes out half-way decent. 4 times in a row!! Wow, you did like it.:rotfl:

Surprise trips are soooo much fun!!!

:wizard::yay:

:goodvibesCan't wait for them to find out what all we are doing. I think the halloween party is going to be the best part of it!!!

What a great DHS day! I did not know that the Monsters characters where at the backlot tour exit; we so missed that and Ashton would have loved it! We still have to meet them, Woody & Buzz, and Lightening & Mater...

we missed Beauty and the Beast too! I really wanted to see things like that with Ashton while he is little; he won't be interested as the baby innocent stage passes into the macho boy stage emerges.

:wave2: Connie

We really enjoyed that day, but we wiped ourselves out. The next day got a very late start.

I think we were on a mission to see characters. Having 2 days in each park made it easy to do most of the things we wanted. Not so sure how much we will get to this trip, but I am sure we will have fun either way.

I really had to hunt for Mike and Sully. I had no clue where to find them, looking back I probably should have asked someone. Oh well, we found them and they were great!

Both the kids liked the B & B show. Not sure why, but it is not a favorite of mine. I was too busy all show looking up what we would eat.

Going a little crazy here because in just two weeks we will be hopefully all packed up and waiting for DH to get home so we can hit the road!!!! Oh, and now our trip is THIS month!!!

I have been researching all I can for the trip over the past few days. The MNSSHP thread has been getting me so excited. Now the food and wine blog is posting updates (with prices) as F & W started yesterday (well the preview anyway). I am deep in planning mode, which has caused me to tweak the plans a bit. Instead of staying a night at Pop Century on the 16th, we have added that night to our POR reservation, so now we won't have to switch on the 17th!:yay: And that gives us dining for one more day!

I think I am officially putting the April trip on the back-burner until we get back. I was hoping to finish it all, but I know there is just no way now. I might be another day up before we leave, but just not a priority right now. So what is my priority? I can't wait to share with you that are still with me our daily plans, thinking a top ten of each day with pictures (of course) and next week I plan to post an updated itinerary (it hasn't changed that much, I promise:laughing:).

This weekend I am traveling with the kids to go visit one of my best friends that just had a baby. DH is working all weekend, so I figured it was a good time to go. So, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'll leave you with my to do list for the trip.

Things left to do:

-make halloween shirts and universal shirts (including purchasing the shirts that the universal print will go on)
-get the dvd player, movies, headphones, leapsters with games(extra batteries for the leapsters) together.
-decide if DH and I are going to wear a costume for MNSSHP
-pre-order photopass
-cancel the extra ADR's
-wash the new clothes for the trip
-get oil changed in the SUV
-buy snacks and breakfast foods (non-perishables)
-book hotel for 15th night (Jameson Inn in Clearview- thanks Lisa!)
-learn how to use my new camera
-PACK!

Not too bad of a list, but I hope to be just down to a few things by this time next week. Oh, one more thing I got in Noah's costume the other day. He is so excited to be Peter Pan. I purchased Chloe some accessories for her Tinkerbelle costume at the same time, unfortunately the shoes I got doesn't fit her. I can't wait to see my little Tink and Peter roaming MK for the halloween party!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

:yay: Isn't it so exciting that our trips are only a couple of weeks away! I sure hope they go by quickly! Have a great weekend!:yay:

I cannot believe we are SOOO close!

Your to do list sounds so very much like mine. You are going to love MNSSHP! It's one of my favorite things to do at Disney.

Yay, 2 weeks, that's so close! :cool1: I've been reading the MNSSHP thread too, even though I'm not going and it sounds like it is going to be SO much fun! :cool1: And I cannot wait for the Food and Wine festival! :)

Now we are less than 2 weeks.:woohoo:

:laughing:When I headed to your PTR I had to laugh at how similar our lists were. Can't wait for the party. Would really like to do 2, just will have to make a major must-do list and know we will miss some things.

So excited for MNSSHP! I am loving the threads about F & W, the pics are making me hungry and thirsty.

Weekend was fun, but it went by too quickly! Now we are home again, atleast for the next 12 days! Now it is time to really get focused on the trip!!!

Hooray for finally being able to say "this month we are going to Disney"! And for adding another day at POR.

Your to-do list doesn't look too bad at all. You're sure to get those things marked off in no time.

Hello! Ashley
your family is going to Disney this month! :yay: party:

hope you had a wonderful weekend visiting; we had beautiful weather for a road trip!

:yay: on adding a night to POR that will be so much easier on you

your to-do list is winding down...

Thanks ladies. Wish I could say that my to do list has gotten shorter for some reason I think it has gotten longer! Better get my rear in gear.

Well first of all in just 9 days we will be in Disneyworld! (not that you would know from my ticker that has apparently went on hiatus) I am soooooo excited! To celebrate I wanted to do a little update on our top 8 characters we (ok, so maybe I) want to see this trip. I am not including MNSSHP in this.

Top 8 Characters to Meet and Greet:

7. & 8. Ariel and Prince Eric- together in Adventureland. Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie, so this one is mainly for me:).
CDCT-parade-revamp-eric-ariel1.jpg

6. Pinocchio- have never even seen him anywhere in the parks. Am hoping we can catch him at either DHS at the sorceror's hat or at MK in Town Square.
pinocchio-disney-parade-3-11.jpg

3-5. Stepmother, Anastasia, and Drizella- they seem like a barrel of laughs. May get to meet them at 1900 PF, but if not will see them at MK. Not exactly sure where to find them at MK (which side of the castle?).

1 & 2. Mickey and Minnie- together in Toontown. Haven't ever gotten by the judge's tent, so this is a must this trip.

One more thing here is a few pictures of our Monroe trip. We were able to just sit out on the bayou and enjoy the fall weather. The kids had a great time throwing sticks on the fire, feeding the fish/turtles, and just being outdoors.

Great pictures of your kids! I would guess in LA that October is like April here - just happy to be able to leave the house!

The Tremaines wander around FL quite a bit - I've never greeted them, but have seen them all over.

We saw Pinnochio and Geppetto inside the "Animation Studios" in DHS. Never seen him in MK.

Our key greets are Peter Pan and Wendy (as always), the Fab 5, The Tremaines (@ Park Fare if nowhere else) and Cruella (Villians mix and mingle).

And what the heck happened to our tickers? Mine died too!

We saw Ariel and Eric this past summer and to be honest I was less than impressed. I know it has everything to do with the people who are playing the part but neither of ours were into it which was sad becase Ariel is Brooklynn's favorite.

We have seen Pinnochio at Magic Kingdom several times around midmorning.

We have always seen the Steps over where they did Belle's storytime, but I know they are using that area for the Tangled characters now.

Just go to Guest Relations when you enter the park and ask where and when the specific characters will be. The CMs can call a character hotline and find out who will be where and when on any given day.

Great character list! I would like to meet Pinocchio too, I have seen him walking through MK but I don't know where he was going! :confused3 I wish Figaro was a character, I'd love to meet him!

I really want to meet the Stepsisters too, but I'm afraid! :rotfl: I don't know what I would say to them!

Cute pictures of the kids! It's a great time to enjoy the weather! :cool1:

Will definitely be on the lookout for the Tremaines. I would love it if we could make our 4:35 for 1900 PF, but I really want to see the DHS parade and not sure if we can make it after the parade?

How funny, have never seen Pinocchio in the animation building. I will find him this time!

Haven't met Peter Pan and Wendy. Would be a cute picture with the kids in their halloween costumes, since they are Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. What time is the best to catch them and where?

This missing ticker business is ticking me off. I refuse to go get yet another one. I keep hoping it will show up, probably will after our trip.:confused3

Great pictures! of Chloe and Noah it was a beautiful weekend to enjoy the outdoors. fun update and character pictures.

 Connie

Been so nice to be able to enjoy being outdoors.

I am such a last minute packer. I am hoping to be fully packed by thursday evening that way friday will just be last minute things!

Hope you are having a great weekend as well! We are having a nice quiet one.:)

Hmmm... We really liked the Ariel we met at Akershus, sad that the one you got wasn't impressive. I know at Akershus the princesses change, but we really like that meal (not sure if you have taken Brooklynn there or not).

Thanks will look for 'nocchio in the morning!

Sad the Tangled characters won't be there yet for our trip, but maybe the stepsisters will be there still then. Will have to check with a CM if we can't find them.

Oh, and Memom said we can meet at the Seas. I can pm you my cell number so you can message me when you want to meet.

Would love it if Figaro was roaming the parks! Dumbo would be another character the kids would love to meet. I have never even seen Pinocchio except for in the parades. We will find him this time though!

The stepsisters seem like big fun. I probably could just sit back and watch them interact with people. Maybe you should send Brandon in to meet them first, then come in and steal him away.

The weather has been so nice, especially in the morning and evenings. Somedays afternoon is still close to 90, but it has really been beautiful weather. Here's hoping it will stay that way!
