Ghosts, and Villians, and Disney, Oh My! An October PTR- Link to TR

We should be pulling up to Port Orleans Riverside this time next week! It is getting so close and DH and I have decided to tell the kids when they wake up from their naps/rest. Right now we have 7 ADR's scheduled, so I really need to get rid of one more or decide to pay Sci-Fi OOP. I want to get the kids opinion on which characters they would rather "eat with" and I need to try the outfit I ordered for Chloe on her. Keeping it a secret has been hard, so I can't wait to tell them.

Now to what we will be doing on the 16th. After a long morning/afternoon of driving we will be stoked to see

Plans are to check-in (online check-in) at POR.

p130724-Orlando-Port_Orleans_Riverside1.jpg

riversidewaterwheel1c1.jpg

I am sure we will check out the pool.
port-orleans-riverside-761.jpg

I requested to be in the Mansions, specifically Oak Manor, and to be on the first floor. So, we will head over to the room and see if our requests were met!
Then we will unpack and get ready to go to the Beach Club. We have a 7:05 Cape May Cafe.

BLE4021.jpg

After our clambake dinner we will walk over to the Boardwalk. (Might grab a treat from Beaches and Cream to share first, if we aren't all too stuffed.)

Disneys20BoardWalk2011.jpg

I am sure being a Saturday night it will be crowded, but we haven't ever seen the Boardwalk, so it is something we really want to do this time. Probably won't stay too long because Sunday is our first park day and we will be up early!

I am debating on whether or not we will bring the stroller this night. Has anyone walked between the BC and Boardwalk? Is this too far for the kids to walk?

Your guys should be okay without a stroller from Beach Club to Boardwalk, especially since you guys won't have been in any parks during the day. Brooklynn can walk it so you all should be fine.

I think you guys will love the Boardwalk, especially at night :) It's such a great little area! Also, keep in mind that there is a boat from BC to BW, so if you guys want to go over there, but don't want to walk, you can always just hop on the boat :)

I have lots of catching up to do since coming home but wanted to chime in our your must see characters...

Ariel and Eric, we saw there several times just as you cross over the bridge! The one time we saw them walking over to the spot and they were yelling for skuttle!!!

Stepmother and sisters...we saw them one morning on the right side of the castle (if you were looking down main st at the castle, go to the path on the right. We actaully walked right past them. They had them near some of the construction stuff.

We saw Pinnochio in MK, after you go under the underpass of the train station once you enter MK. He was in front of Tony's. We saw Jimminy Cricket at Rafaki's Planet Watch.

Hoep this 'tips' help you out!

Thanks for the input Jill! I am sure the kids will want to explore the boardwalk and not be in a stroller.

Definitely helps, thanks so much. I hope you all had a wonderful trip, can't wait to hear all about it!

The Ariel and Eric you saw sounded like fun. Hopefully, we will see them.:)

Wanted to do a little update for our plans for next Sunday, October 17th.

We will start out at Animal Kingdom.

treeoflife.jpg

It is a early EMH day, so plans are to be at the park by 8am. While in the park we will ride.

We will go see some Tigers!

At some point and time we will head over to

Maybe see some characters and we might stop in for

We will grab a counter service lunch somewhere.:confused3 (Probably either Pizzafari or Flame Tree BBQ)

More shows in the plans.

IMG_2434.jpg

I am sure the kids will want to run around here for a bit.
IMG_2388.jpg

Before we leave we will walk through a Tree of Life trail, then get our tickets upgraded.

Next we will head to Epcot. We have a 5:15 ADR at Garden Grill.

Hope to ride/see a few things that night, like Captain EO,

Grab a margarita in Mexico and find a spot for Illuminations.

epcotorlando2-2-09132.jpg

It will be a very long day, but the kids should make it. If they get too tired they will just nap in the stroller!

DH and I told the kids about going to Disneyworld yesterday. They are so excited, especially for the halloween party. Still haven't tried the custom outfit on Chloe, I do hope it will fit her cute.

Up next- Day 3 Plans

On monday we will start out at Epcot.

epcotorlando2-2-09004.jpg

(hopefully at rope drop)

First up we will head to

IMG_2633.jpg

In future world we also want to ride

Then it will be time for lunch. Lunch will be in the
p122631-Orlando-Food_and_Wine_Festi1.jpg

I do want to get the kids passports for the world showcase, does anyone know where I can pick them up?

I think we will start in Canada and work our way around WS, stopping to do some of the kidcot stations and to see Voicies of Liberty
voices21.jpg

and Dragon Legend Acrobats.
dragonlegendacrobats.jpg

One decision I will have to make is between the Grey Goose Limon Citron Slushie
GGLCS.jpg

or the Parisian Cosmo Slushie.
ParisianCosmoSlushie.jpg

Decisions are the worst!

Hope we will have enough time to catch the disney credit card meet and greet in Innoventions West and pick up our free photo from it. Then last up is
IMG_5753.jpg

Then we are on our way to
disneyhollywoodstudio2-3-006.jpg

We will grab a quick service meal, probably at Rosie's, then head into the Fantasmic stadium for the 7:30 show.
DSC_03111.jpg

It is late EMH that night, so we will stay for a little while. I am sure Chloe will want to ride
draft_lens2352475module13243696photo_1231565226disneyworldtowerofterrorpicture1.jpg

We definitely will check out the Playhouse dance party and may even ride Toy Story Mania (if the line is less than 45 minutes).

Again it will be another long day.

Great plans! :thumbsup2 Those pictures make me want to go back RIGHT NOW!

DH and I caught the Voices of Liberty once and they were amazing! :lovestruc I've been trying to see them again ever since but I never seem to make it!

Hmmm...I'd have to say I would choose the Grand Marnier orange slushie...

We will probably run into you hear since this is my plan for starting the morning!

Yay! I will still pm you my cell number, just incase we miss each other.:goodvibes

Your plans look excellent! :)

Thanks. I sure hope we can last that long 2 days in a row. I am sure the kids can, it will be me or Chris who gets worn out.:lmao:

Just close you eyes and you are! That is why the boards are so addictive, it is like taking a vacation without spending any money.:)

Looking forward to VoL, everyone says how beautiful they sing!

Why is it that all of the yummy drinks seem to be in France? They need a slushie flight!

I will be back later for day 3 plans, right now I am trying to get all the clothes washed and finish up on my to do list. I have been able to get quite alot done in the past two days.:woohoo: In just 3 days I will be packing the car up!!!!

Days 2 and 3 look great! :cool1:

BTW I'd go for the Cosmo slushie...the grand mariner slushie you can get anytime in Epcot, but the cosmo one is only available for Food and Wine! I can't wait to try one! :)

You will sure be busy on Monday starting with Epcot and ending in HS! It makes me tired just thinking about it.

Just a few more days until Disney!!:dance3:

I think Dh may get one and I the other. He knows full well that I will taste them both, then take over my favorite.:rotfl2:

Woohoo, we will both be in Disney soon!

We tend to go, go, go when in Disney. I am definitely ready for bed at the end of the night, but I am ready to go again in the morning. I think we run on pure adrenaline while there. About day 5 we start slowing down though. Our rest will be while switching parks, but really the hardest thing is parking and walking (our huge stroller doesn't fit so easily on the trams, so we usually hoof it). I am ok walking a little bit at a time, but walking 1/2 a mile at a time, while pushing a stroller with two kids in it, kills me. Whew! I feel wiped just thinking about it.

Finally it is Magic Kingdom day!

IMG_2265.jpg

Bright and early we will head out. I want to give us plenty of time because we really want to see the opening show.

MK_rope_drop1.jpg

Then we will head to fantasyland, where we will ride

IMG_64791.jpg

IMG_45911.jpg

IMG_2512.jpg

IMG_2313.jpg

and see Philharmagic.

Then to

IMG_2458.jpg

and into

IMG_46211.jpg

to see Mickey and Minnie. We will make sure we take a spin on

IMG_2459.jpg

We plan to eat lunch at

IMG_2509.jpg

Then the rides we hope to get in after lunch-

Haunted Mansion
IMG_2303.jpg

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
IMG_2308.jpg

pirates-of-the-caribbean-21.jpg

IMG_2272.jpg

and Splash Mountain (oops, can't find the picture).

We will grab Dole Whips from Aloha Isle and find a place to watch the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade.

MKparade.jpg

I do hope we will have time to see

CoP.jpg

and maybe even catch a ride on Buzz's Space Ranger Spin.

We will be making our way out of the park and over to the Polynesian. At 6pm we will be watching the torch lighting ceremony

P51902461.jpg

followed by dinner at 6:30 at

ohana-sign1.jpg

We will be ordering some drinks, the Pina Colava (me) and the Lapu Lapu (dh)

dscf1353au1.jpg

Hopefully, we can stick around until the Electric Water Pageant

DSC013651.jpg

Who knows we may even stay to see a preview of Hallowishes!

Hi Ashley
sorry to be MIA
but your plans sound great! I can't believe you guys leave in
4 days! how exciting!!! :mickeyjum
I can't wait to hear all about it when you guys return...
and you when you do return we will try hard to get together! I promise

Hope you guys are having some magical dreams!!!
:wave2: Connie

Finally it is Magic Kingdom day!

Ha, We'll see you there on the Dumbo Dash!

(Our family decided on names for the 3 main morning runs:
The Dumbo Dash, The Safari Sprint and the Toy Story Mania March. Couldn't come up with one for Epcot, since DD always wants to go to the Character Connection first thing - and since that's about 25 feet from rope drop.

Anyways, we'll probably be following you around, our traditional order is Dumbo, Peter Pan, Small World (skip due to rehab closure), Pooh, and Tea Cups (also closed). DD for some reason never wants to do the carousel. We'll save Philharmagic for later in the day. (No point in wasting the first few hours on something that has no real lines most of the time.) At some point I'll dash over to Adventureland/Fronteirland for a FP - probably after Peter Pan. Probably hit toontown- though DD might be more interested in PotC. Sounds like our pattern is pretty similar. We might even lunch at CHH, a favorite of ours - though I was thinking of trying Peco's Bills instead. I'll be real surprised if we don't run into each-other a few times. We WILL try and catch up with you at Sunshine Season's on Sunday, just so we recognize eachother. (I'll probably have my Buffalo Sabres baseball cap on...so if you see me wandering around the restaurant looking for you - wave me over!)

Can you believe it? Just TWO days!

That's ok, this time of year is busy for most of us. I did find time to make it by Walgreens today for some disney halloween stuff. Thanks so much for the heads up!

We will definitely have to meet when we return. We still have those aquarium tickets to use and I would love to check out that children's museum in hammond.

:laughing:Maybe I would have magical dreams if I had time to sleep:laughing:! Lots to do and less than 2 days to go!!!

Yep see you at the TSM March and the Dumbo Dash!:lmao:

Let's see, you could call the Epcot one the fab 5 free-style or free-for-all or frolick.:rotfl2: You gotta have a name!

I plan to put a dis nametag on our bag with my name on it. Don't know what we will be wearing yet. Noah will probably have on a jungle book orange shirt if that helps. Chris will either have a saints or lsu cap on. Will be on the lookout for you!

I am starting to see all I have left to do. Now I am scared. Looks like a long night for me.

Today we will start out at

disneyhollywoodstudio2-3-006.jpg

First up is Toy Story Mania

IMG_2188.jpg

Here are some things we would like to do the rest of the day

DSC_02941.jpg

IMG_2140.jpg

(This picture is from 2009, doesn't Chloe look so tiny! Noah refused to meet Sorceror Mickey, so I hope we can this time)

DSC_03021.jpg

We have lunch reservations at Sci-Fi Dine-In

Sci-Fi_Dine-In_31.jpg

I have heard mixed reviews here, but I think the kids will really love to eat in the "car". The milkshakes look yummy to me!

One other can't miss-

IMG_2221.jpg

I would really like to try a muffin from

DSC_02831.jpg

not sure if I will get to though.

disney092331.jpg

This will be our last thing at the studios for this trip. I am looking forward to seeing it again. Will be the last time we are able to see it before this parade ends and is replaced with a new one.

We will be in a bit of a rush, because I have a 4:35 Adr for

1900park11.jpg

I was hoping to be able to push it back til 5, but no openings. I really think we can make it- the parade starts at 3 and we will be sure to get there early to grab a spot near the park entrance. Anyone have any advice?

After our dinner we will hop on the monorail for

MagicKingdomSign021.jpg

Our main reason for hopping over is to see the Main Street Electric Parade.

Main-Street-Electrical-Parade-211.jpg

Two things I really hope to do are to ride the Tomorrow Transit Authority

tta1.jpg

and ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at night.

We may stay to see Wishes.

DSC_02541.jpg

Will depend on how tired we are and if we want to fight the crowds out of MK. We may head to the boat right before the fireworks start and hope to see a bit of them from the boat.

Ok, now to why my head is spinning. Two days to go til we leave!!! While I am very excited and mentally ready, I am just not physically ready. I still have a few loads of clothes to wash, plus the flipping iron-ons. Then I realized I have library books to return. Noah has a dr. appt. tomorrow to get his 4 yr. old shots (yuck!). So that is my to do list for tomorrow. Ugh!!!

I wish friday was better, but between the 9 wk. parent/teacher conference, taking the dog to be boarded, and packing up with two kids "helping" I just don't see it being calm around here. Dh will pick us up dinner and after we eat we will hit the road. OK, guess my break is over. I hope to be on sometime tomorrow to do the last 3 day plans!

sounds like a great day! again!! you have planned out!

you sound like me as the last day approaches...but, I have to give it to you. You are much braver than me doing 4yr old shots right before you leave...

try and calm down everything will get done! and you will be in Disney World by the weekend! :mickeyjum

you have guys have a magical time! enjoy it all and I can't wait to hear all about it and meet you guys when you get home!!!
tell Mickey and his pals we said hello!!!
