Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

Thanks for the story Mary! That is weird!

I will have my DVR set for all the ghostly adventures on Halloween. Too much other stuff going on to sit in front of the tube for that long! And I love to zip through all the extra stuff.

We saw the Ghost Hunters Academy promos. I am excited! Steve and Tango are my favorite guys from GH. And it does promise some entertainment!

We watched a 2 hour show on the Travel Channel last night that was the season premiere of MonsterQuest. DH's favorite, Bigfoot, was the subject. They did a big ole trip to Nepal and looked for the Yeti. Though DH really loves these shows, I traditionally fall asleep to them. Kind of like GHI. I don't object to watching, but the running around and not finding anything is a surefire sleeping pill for me!

Ok, what am i missing, what happened last year on GH live event to make people not want to watch??
I watched it - well, some of it.. but apparently i missed whatever is the talk!

I will definately be watching!

There were some things that happened on last year's live show that were "questionable." A perfect example was the pulling of Grant's collar... there was quite some controversy about it. I, for one, hate to say it (I honestly do.... I loved GH) but I think it was fake.

I'm completely surprised that they are doing another "live" show this year. :confused3

Barb,

I agree. I mean it is really hard for me to trust them now that the jacket thing happened. I don't know how they can come back credibilty wise. I always figured they were truthful and I wish they would have just acknowledged it and said it was fake and that they were MADE to do it but they did not.

See, i watched that part, and have no problem with what happened.. i mean, i am not the judge - it's just a show, and imo, still very much more of a credible show than Zac's! LOL

Did they ever come out and say it was a hoax? OR is it just "questionable" evidence?

Either way.. my tv will be tuned in this Sat. night! :) As long as i don't get interupted too many times to hand out candy to teenagers bigger than i am at 9pm... LOL

Well, I just watched my second episode of Ghost Lab. Thought it had potential, but I'm beginning to see a pattern -- everywhere they go they get EVPs.

I love Ghost Adventures but I don't have all night to sit around in the dark waiting for something to happen, lol. What if they are just sitting there for hours? Sounds like Al Capone's vault to me ;)

I saw that on Halloween the Biography Channel is playing a marathon of Celebrity Ghost Stories starting at 8:00. :thumbsup2

Just had to chime in:

"Caitsmama" Wednesday nights are my time too ...I park myself infront of the tv in the kitchen with my sewing maching and watch away while I'm working on my quilting during the commercials. They think I'm nuts at work, which is funny cause I work at a cemetery. I'll be thinking of you tonight while I'm watching those shows...starting with Ghost Whisperer and ending with Destination Truth....trouble for me is that in between I like to do the remote switch thing for Dinner Impossible.

Also "WDW4me" I will be in Indiana, PA at IUP this weekend visiting my daughter there...she loves Halloween maybe we can walk the streets to see if we can find that area you are talking about.

We watched Extreme Paranormal last night on A&E.

It is a 3 man team with a film crew that tries to reinact deaths to provoke the spirits. They did a summoning charm and had a protection circle.

They totally lost me with that summoning charm... it was word for word a spell used by Phoebe in Charmed when she served jury duty. Can't they be more original that to steal a spell from Aaron Speling?

I have also been watching Ghost Stories on the Travel Channel. They play those again and again as well. It is true stories, reinacted. The narrator is Jay Thomas-name sounds familiar as did the voice, but I can't place him.

He was married to Carla in the last few seasons of Cheers... a hockey player.

Oh my! :rotfl2:

I tried to watch an episode of this show and they totally lost me. They set up some so-called electrical device in a cell in this prison and frankly I don't know what they were doing. :confused3

I'm so confused!

A couple of weeks ago, I read that Jason and Grant said there would NOT be a H'ween episode this year because they were hurt by the controversy last year.

THEN, I read that they are having a marathon of shows that fans voted for, hosted by TAPS.

THEN, I see on TV that there is a marathon at a haunted place with Josh Gates, but NO investigation.

NOW, that link above says there IS some sort of investigation?

Can someone clear this up for me, I am soooooo confused!

Sorry, i am no help.. but i am tuning in to whatever it is anyway.. LOL I like all those choices...

That's exactly why I posted the link when my daughter told me. I was floored. I guess they saw the guys of Ghost Adventures were having a live show and thought if someone muscled in on their Halloween live-show gig, they might not get another chance. :confused3 What I like best is that they are on two different nights, so I get to watch both! And don't forget we change the clocks this weekend, so we'll even get an extra hour of sleep to offset our all-night ghost hunting. :goodvibes

Are you serious? They were hurt? :rotfl2: Oh that is rich. Don't get me wrong, I love watching GH and will continue to do so, but they are surprised that people questioned their evidence? Especially something like the coat tug? Come on. Sounds like a kid taking their toys and running home with them.

I doubt that Jason and Grant were actually HURT. They've been questioned before.

From my understanding Jason and Grant won't be involved in the actual investigation but will be featured on the best of marathon. I bet that they're pre-recorded. The new people that will be on the new show will be involved in the investigation along with I suppose Tango and Steve since it's their show.

At least that's how I understand it.

On the Halloween episode? I thought they were? I thought they wouldn't be involved in the new Ghost Hunters Academy (or whatever it's being called). I'm so :confused3. Well, I guess we'll find out soon enough. ;)

OMG! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Did anyone watch Destination Truth when the team was dancing at the B&B?! :scared1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: This show is so entertaining sometimes.

This is an absolute true story, and I will not embellish at all, and just let your hair stand on end on it's own.

When I was in high school, I dated a girl who's family owned one of the oldest houses in our town. It was on the National Historic list, and in the 80's was over 250 years old. It was a field hospital during the revolutionary war, used during the underground railroad, and was a big (5,000+ sq ft) old, beautiful colonial home in New England.

Myself, my best friend and my girlfriend went to the mall one friday night. I ate a corndog while at the mall and get horrible food poisoning. I had projectile vom.... you get the picture. My best friend ended up driving her home and she took me into her house (her father was a doctor) but her parents weren't home (house was empty). She laid me down on her couch in the living room as she went into the kitchen to get me something to drink and get a bucket. My best friend sat with me for a few minutes, then went to check on my girlfriend to see if he could help. My bestfriend came back a few minutes later and stopped just outside the livingroom and said "What in the world are you doing up and over there?" I looked up from the couch and he was looking toward my girlfriend's father's office. He saw a person in the doorway of the closet in the office (she had boardgames on the top shelf) I then said, "what are you talking about?" He looked my way, then looked back at the office and literally ran out of the house. He ended up walking the 2 miles home. My girlfriend came into the livingroom and asked what did I say to him. I told her I asked "who was he talking to?" She already knew what probably happened. The next day I spoke to my best friend and he said that he thought he saw me reaching for a boardgame in the closet, but when he realized I was still on the couch, when he looked back at the closet, there was an older man, with a full beard, and looked right at him. No member of her family has a beard. The house had many deaths in it over the years, and he never went back into that house again.
