Cool thread! I don't necessarily have a ghost story but a story that still kinda creeps me out to this day.
Setting: mid-May, 1988, Indiana, PA. I went to college for two years at Indiana University of PA (IUP), it's a smallish college town. Since the spring of 1987, there were issues with people (can't remember anymore if it was one or two people or a group) going around at night and beating people to a pulp with baseball bats. No lie - there was at least one person MedEvac'd.
Soooooo, stupid 18 year old that I am, since it's the end of the semester and we'll all be heading home soon and I already know I'm not coming back in the fall and I'm gonna miss this little town and my friends... a few nights before finals my BFF and I decide it'd be a good idea to take a walk around the town once more for old time's sake.
I used to remember street names but not so much now.

Anyway, we're walkin and talkin away and eventually decide we'll head back to the dorm. Turn a corner and my stomach doesn't feel too good. Keep walking down the block and my stomach keeps getting more and more and more upset. "Mmmm, Faith? I think we need to get off of this street. Let's go another way home." We poo-poo and laugh off my weirdishness but, nope, getting waaayyyy anxious now. Coming up to a small store on our right and I
swear to God there's someone coming out from the side of the building with their arms up and behind their head like they're gonna chop me with something!! I scream (literally) and jump about 10 feet in the air - it's a mannequin in the store window. "OK, Faith, we're turning HERE
NOW!!" Immediately after turning the corner, willies subside. We (obviously) make it back to the dorm unscathed.
Two days later, we're hangin out in our room when we find out that someone was beaten up 2 1/2 blocks down the street from the store that I freaked out in front of.
Never, ever underestimate a "stupid" gut feeling!
