Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

Thanks Pikester and Bella for answering! I think I will watch the clip for a bit. It is definitely weird that someone would be a client on one show and an investigator on another so close together, unless she is some sort of paranormal investigator groupie and just goes around looking for that type of opportunity. It does seem to make you question her credibility.

I'm definitely planning on catching up on everyone's stories, I LOVE reading about experiences other people have had.

Next month I'm going to Bobby Mackey's Music World country bar in Wilder, Ky so hopefully I'll have some cool stories to share and hopefully maybe some EVP's or pictures! Shannon Silva from GHI is going to be there too so I'm hoping I get a chance to meet her and at least say hello

I didn't even realize that a few posts up you guys were talking about Shannon Silva being on Paranormal State. It was my understanding that Paranormal State was filmed a few years ago and that was what got her interested in the paranormal. I could be wrong though.

I saw something about Bobby Mackey's on some show and also read a bit about it. Is the place still in business?

Good luck with the investigation!

I can't wait for Wednesday. I hope they show last weeks episode before the new one - I missed it.

I haven't gotten rid of the mirror yet. Everyone seems to want me to get rid of it, but I think I'll wait til after they bless the house.

BUT, one thing I'm definately getting rid of is my grandfather's masonic ring. I've heard bad things about rings like his. :confused3 What do y'all think.

You still have the mirror? :scared:

I never heard anything about masonic rings. :confused3 Are there any men in the family that are or you think will be a mason? maybe you could give it to them.

I don't think I could bring myself to do that after what I've learned. Apparantly, they're known to carry curses. :confused3

I always thought of spirits attatching themselves to furniture or places but never really thought about objects like rings or jewelry.

Does anyone know anything about this?

You could always hock it at a antique store.

You know, I think that's why I subconsciencly won't buy antiques. I absolutely LOVE them, but I don't own any. In fact (I might have told this story before) I bought a picture frame on ebay, it was cast iron and made in the 1850's. It had a picture with it too, from the 1850's. I thought it was the coolest thing. I put it on the mantle and after about 2 days I started getting creeped out by it. I couldn't pinpoint why, it just creeped me out. Maybe I was getting some kind of vibe off of it. :confused3 I re-sold it on ebay (at a profit of course:cool2: ).

I did the same thing with a Stereoscope a couple of months after the picture frame.

Are you open to trying to cleanse the items of the negative energy?

I'm trying to find a link for you that spells it all out but my guts tells me to do this for the ring:

A few days after the full moon, burn sage and pass the ring through the smoke, then pass it through the flame of a white candle, then dip it in a bowl of salt water.

If you still feel any negative energy from it, you could bury it until the new moon.

You could do something similar with the mirror, but if large, pass the items around it instead of trying to pass it through the smoke/flame etc.
Then cover it with a black cloth made of natural fibers (wool, cotton etc) until the new moon

The book I just read said to pass it through fire and get rid of it. The ring.

The mirror, I'll probably give back to my Mom and let her give it to her brother, who was supposed to have it in the first place. It's quite large, and she has another one to give me to replace it.

It's funny, but I was drawn to both items. I don't know why, but on some level it must be ironic that these are the items I'm now getting rid of.

IMHO you were probably drawn to them both a for a reason, maybe to cleanse them before passing them on. Personally I wouldn't get rid of the ring since it is a family heirloom. The mirror OTOH, I would probably give it to the person (your uncle) that was suppose to get it.

I think you just solved your own puzzle. ;) Give it to your uncle. ::yes::

Okay I finally got back to my computer and caught up will all the stories. I have some stories none are spectacular but you may enjoy them anyhow. I'll start off with a little background. Then I'll tell all the stories that go along with the house I grew up in.

My mom and dad were divorced shortly before I was born and my mother and I wound up living with my great grandparents, my great grandparents built the house they lived in so no one had lived there before but they had lived there since my mother and aunts were just a glimer in my grandparents eyes so all my aunts and uncles grew up around this house. The room that my mother and I shared until I was around 9 (then we had seperate rooms) always gave my aunt the creeps, I can remember even into my teenage years my aunt would not go into my room by herself. She swore up and down to anyone that would listen that she saw a man come out of the closet when she was a child, she swears he came out of the closet looked at her and then went back in and was gone. We have since sold the house but even when we were moving out she would not go into that room.

Another story my mom likes to tell occured when I was about 5 years old. My mom says that I used to get up every night and climb in bed with her (we had seperate beds in the same room). One night she felt something brush across her feet and then climb in bed with her. Naturally she assumed it was me so she rolled over to put her arm around me and of course there was no one there and I was sound asleep in my bed.

As for me I never experienced anything in that room but I was always uncomfortable in the house if I was alone. When I was around 19 my mom began dating my step father who happened to live about an hour away from us. My DH and I were already engaged at the time and so occasionally on the weekends she would go and stay with step dad and DH would come and stay with me. Just like all couples we would fight occasionally and one night we got into an argument and he left, well I was so terrified to be by myself that I called him bawling and thank goodness he came back. Nothing had happened I just felt so uncomfortable and so unsafe that I would have done anything to get him to come back. I can remember this moment like it was yesterday. I was sweating, I could hardly breath, and I counted every second until he got back!!

I have more, so I'll be back.

Keep the stories coming I love reading them.

Tina

As far as I know Bobby Mackey's is still in business. I'm looking forward to going there and hope to have a cool experience. Either way, I think it will be a good time. I'll post back about how it goes.

I saw 2 Paranormal States last night that I hadn't seen before--the one in the bar with "Charlie", and one where the family's great grandfather (coal miner) was causing trouble in the house. The 2nd had a really good thermal hand print. And yes, I made my 8yr old sleep in my room cause I was scared and DH is away! :rotfl2: How pitiful is that???

I was just reminded of a time when I had just finished 6th grade. My mother told me about it the next day.

She was up late, couldn't sleep. She had stayed up late watching some bad, scary movie called "Picture Mommy Dead." Dad was snoring so was creeped out and couldn't relax. She sat at the top of the stairs with the light on to read so she wouldn't wake Dad.

Suddenly the t.v. downstairs blared to life, when no one was near and it had definitely been off. This was before we had a t.v. with a remote (can you even remember the days??) so it isn't like some random zapper had turned it on. And it was after midnight, so the whole world seemed to be asleep. She went downstairs and turned it off. Now she was really freaking out.

She sat at the top of the stairs again to read and calm down, when I came running down the hallway toward her from my bedroom. She grabbed me and asked me what was the matter. I looked in her eyes and asked really panicked, "Where's Dorothy??" She knew I must be dreaming and took me back to bed.

She gave up and went to bed after that.

I know the exact year this happened because I can still remember that dream. There had been IRL a large tornado through our town that year that had killed 13 people and disrupted my dance recital as a result. I was dreaming about the recital and trying to find everyone when the tornado was coming. My dance teacher was Dorothy. I know it all has Wizard of Oz undercurrents, but when my mom asked me the next morning if I remembered what happened, I told her about my dream but didn't remember getting out of bed or running down the hall.

I have always wondered if there wasn't some poltergeist activity but we never had any other incidents in that house that I know of.

hmmmmm...... I can't help but to wonder if you were so upset by the dream that you turned the TV on.

:headache: I can't believe I missed the premiere of GH. I hope they show it again before this weeks episode. If y'all are saying it's betw. 8-9 ghosts....it must be a good one.

popcorn::

Breezy just go on YOU TUBE! Look up season5 Iron Island . YOu need to watch it in 5 parts because on You Tube they can only post up to 10 minutes b/c it has to do with copywrite or something. That is where I watched it. I am not near my tv when it was on so I watch it the next night.

Well we are all interested in the paranormal. We all were just wondering how she got a TV show. There have to be tons of others who are more experienced. I mean we all should make our own show. We could call it "Ghost Squad" LOL>
