Just watched last nights episode of GHI. It was OK. I snorted a little when Rob, Andy and Dustin were using the thermal cam near the stairs and Rob said that this is where a little boy has been seen running up and down. Hello! It was a little girl!

I thought that was what they said but then I figured I just heard it wrong but jeesh Rob should have had it right ...he is the investigator.

Not to be a butt-in-ski But I know these are whoopie pies- maybe the creamy center is "enrobed" in the cake to make a pocket??

It is so stupid and I did not ask for the tag but that tag fairy felt like she was doing me a favor...not!

I had written a thread about the huge(10 oz) Whoppie Pies that we can get in the NE. The brand is Steve's although they also sell a competitor Wicked Whoppies. I had mentioned in my thread that if I ate anymore of them I could just apply them directly to my hips....thus Whoppie Pie Pockets. It must have been a slow day because as I remember it was an early morning post during a snow storm I think TF must have been bored because it was not all that funny!

Hey take like 3 of those puppies in the photo and put them together and you will get an idea of the size of the WPs I am speaking about! They come in a vareity of flavors too. Chocolate Chip, Chocolate PB, Chocolate/Chocolate, Lemmon/Vanilla, Orange/Vanilla and the ever popular chocolate enrobed in chocolate!

ETA: Just looked at the photo again and it is more like 4 of those babies to equal one of Steve's.

OMG! I LOVE Whoopie Pies! We usually get them at the Amish Market- they only have chocolate and pumpkin- but the other flavors sound awesome!!!!!!!!

NOW! I want a Whoopie Pie!!!!!

You can get the Wicked Whoppies on line too but really Steve's are much better. Just do not blame me if you too need to sew Whoppie Pie Pockets on your jeans. Now they also have a 5lb one too. Great for a birthday cake....or just a really, really, big chocolate craving.

YOu know they are good quality they sell Steve's at the gift shops in the Newport RI Mansions.

What do they charge on line? They are 99c in the stores here.


ETA: I did not think that 18.00 for a dozen was bad. I thought they would be about 2.00 on line. I need to correct myself, the large size is 32 ounces...it is Wicked Whoppies that has the 5 lb pie. I would suggest that if you get them and you have kids you hide them from the kids. After all they could have traces of nuts and soy in them and you would not want to cause any allergies( lol sure! it sounds good anyway)

I'm going to have to jump on the Whoopie Pie Band Wagon. My Nana makes AWESOME whoopie pies! She gave me her recipe when I got married. We also use the same recipe to make a whoopie pie cake.

A 5lb Whoopie Cake would be FUN!!!! Oreo now makes a cake- they copy off the Whoopie pie!

I love the Mansions- they are so beautiful! I need to get my butt back there- not for the Whoopie Pies though
DH and I did the Mansions a few years back, we stayed at a B&B (can't remember the name, but I remember it being near a small bridge ) I have some pics (pre-digital day)- I should pull them out and look to see if I have a pic showing the name.

I can't believe the money they had back then! I would have loved to be part of all that!

I started watching PK when someone here mentioned it . I really like it. I saw the one you're talking about. You could just see how frustraed Chip was getting. The mom said there are no spirits, just angels and demons. At least the girl knows now she's not alone.

Saul wants her to raise up the spirit of the dead prophet Samuel. When she goes to bring up her 'familiar' (the spirit that she always consults for answers, some might say her regular devil or demon), she is terrified because the actual spirit of Samuel is brought up. Samuel and Saul have a conversation about a battle taking place on the next day, with Samuel predicting Saul's and his sons' deaths.

So, the Bible is stating it's possible for an actual spirit to be out and about, to be recognized by the living and for the spirit of a dead person to converse with the living.
And this mother on PK calls herself a Christian and would probably profess to believe in the Bible.
So ghosts/spirits are a Biblical reality that she refuses to acknowledge.

the mother's church was very small, so my assumption is that they may not hold the mainstream christian beliefs. in her particular form of christianity, there may only be angels and devils, but i think she needs to be willing to at least learn of other viewpoints if she wants to stay close with her daughter
