Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

So no one ever died in the desert ? Then again you could have some sort of spiritual vortex.... did I scare you yet?:rotfl:... And ah who said it was residual??? Could be intelligent, could be a relative....no matter how you slice it , it is SCARY!!
Hey, I thought we're trying to reassure people.. :rotfl: Still not scared, my relatives won't hurt me. (I hope  ) BTW, used an Ouiji board as a teen. Got zilch, still have the board.

Nobody laugh at me and I will tell something that is hard to believe, but there is no other explanation.

This happened last Fall so my girls were 9 and 5 at the time. They were up in their bedroom playing. It is a small room (9X9) with bunk beds along one wall and a giant dresser along the opposite wall.

I heard a crash and scream. I ran up the stairs. The dresser had fallen over some how. My youngest was on the bottom bunk and the older dd was trying to pick the dresser back up.

After helping dd with the dresser I looked around at the mess. There was a smashed container 1/2 under the bunk bed. The container was shorter than the girls would be laying down.

I asked what happened and here is the story they told me. My youngest was next to the dresser trying to get something off the top (that is what I think made the dresser fall.) When the dresser fell my youngest was thrown by some unseen person onto the bottom bunk. My older dd claimed something stopped the dresser before it hit her and helped hold it up till I got there.

While cleaning up the smashed things I kept thinking how the girls could have been crushed by that dresser. Then I found an old picture of 'Grandma Mitsy' that has not been seen in ages. My oldest dd use to sleep with the picture after 'Grandma Mitsy' died.

You may not believe this, but I believe 'Grandma Mitsy' came back to save her great-grandaughters.

Not laughing here! Grandma Mitsy OR Guardian Angel either way I truly believe it happend. I have heard lots of stories like this before. I do not think that the girls were savvy enough at their ages to make up something like that.

SOOO then maybe you did not ESCAPE the clutches of the OUJA then. See we can rationalize this in a paranormal way no matter what you say.:rotfl:

OK, I've become addicted to "A Haunting". I TIVO'd it to record 2 episodes at a time. It's on twice a day on weekdays, so I've been watching 2 episodes per day for 2 weeks and I can't get enough!

I love that show. Its really spooky.
If you can ever catch A Haunting in Conneticutt, watch it... it is the freakiest of them all in my opinion.
The one with the couple in FL is good too. I have DVRed all of them. Waiting for new ones.
i just recently got the Unsolved Mysteries Ghosts DVD. It had the Queen Mary ghost on it. I know TAPS didnt find anything there. But the way the show did it, it is creepy!

I sure wouldn't laugh at anyone that experienced something in their house. I also think the girls were too young to make something like that up.

mommytoe that is a cool story! Not laughing here at all.

I am so lame in wanting paranormal stuff tonight that I turned on Most Haunted. Or is that I was wanting paranormal stuff that I turned on lame Most Haunted? :rotfl:

This is a post from the "open casket when it should have been a closed casket" thread. I thought it kind of fits in on this thread.
my father's side of the family put a stop to open caskets following a freak but traumatic event at my grandmother's funeral. my father and his siblings were standing around the casket and saying their final farewells when all of a sudden they saw tears coming from one of her eyes, streaming down her cheek it was later determined that the funeral home had not completly drained one of her tear ducts but the experience was horrifying for those who witnessed it.

Is it on right now?

I've really got to invest in a TV guide. :headache:

OMG... can you imagine seeing a dead body do anything... say nothing about tears coming out of the tear ducts.
when I was taking nursing classes, our instructer was telling us about postmortem procedures. She said it wasnt uncommon for the body to release a breath or something when dead. She told a story of how she was washing a person, and the body let out a breath.... yikes!
So, a little freaked out, I worked at a nursing home. Where the door alarms would go off, call lights would go off, and rocking chairs would rock. I say the alarms and such was electrical. But the chair... not so sure. Working the 11-7 shift a nurse came running across the building one night screaming about the doors shaking violently. I didnt work there for long lol.

i wouldnt mind going on a ghost hunt with something like TAPS. But seeing something alone... no thank you!

Neat story about Grandma Mitsy. I believe in that stuff too. I always believe my grandma has my back to this day.

i know my story didnt fit, but I just got to rambling lol.

I'm a little late in my responses, sorry for backtracking.

But how would we ever know?

Actually, it's been said that when the CM's shut everything down for the night it's after that point that "other" things start happening.

As for those untidy homes -- maybe they think the mess will scare away the ghosts. I'm sure you'd never see a ghost brave enough to haunt the Roloffs from Little People, Big World! :rotfl:

:lmao: SO TRUE!!! Their house is always such a mess. I remember the episode where they put in a new pantry/closet/whatever organizer and she got so pissed about it!:confused3

I liked the GHI episode but then I don't mind Rob as much as some of you do and I was so pleased to see Dustin. I always thought that Dustin was an excellent investigator and it's nice to see him active again. I also like the Irish guy and Brian is amusing if not trustworthy.

I completely agree with you. I don't mind Rob too much (I'm getting used to him more each episode), and it is good to see Dustin back because I never really cared for Shannon. It's good to see Brian back in action on GHI, I always felt bad for him because it seemed like Jay always gave him such a hard time, unnecessarily sometimes on GH. And it seemed like after they made Steve the Tech Manager that he could do no wrong and walked on water in Grant & Jay's eyes(even though he had a few of his own screw-ups). However I do agree with some people that Brian sees things that others do not, or ever do. And Barry :lovestruc , I love a man with an Irish accent, now just shave that little line of hair off your chin and I will be very happy!

JMHO!:)

A few months ago I woke up in the middle of the night. I had a strange feeling as if someone was in the room. Then the blanket over my feet tightened as if someone was sitting on the edge of the bed. At first I thought it was my dog until I realized she was sleeping next to my legs on the opposite side from the pressure. I couldn't see anyone (I have very good night vision), I tried to sit up to get a better look but couldn't move! At this point my heart was beating a little faster than normal. :scared: A few moments later the pressure was gone and I could move again.
As we are the original owners of the house (and no one has died) I doubt it was a ghost. I think maybe I've been reading this thread too much.

Well I finally thought to ask my mom the story about it, it turns out that back many years ago when my mom was little (she is 60 now) my grandparents and there friends would get togther on a saturday night and try "Table Tipping" they were also had a gal come over that read cards. They did this for some time, and as my mom says nothing ever happened but them drinking to much, until the last time they ever did it.

The last time there were 5 of them, my grandparents, another couple and the "card" lady. So the night started as it did every weekend, darkened kitchen, no kids allowed, beer and whatever it was they used that night to envoke the spirits.
So as my grandma says "they all felt weird that night" and the card lady said to them "something bad is here" so they started the table tipping. They all set around the table with fingers touching and the card lady was calling out to whom ever was there and after about 10 minutes the table started to shake. So thinking that someone was doing gram said they kept going, and then it began to shake harder and then they start thinking that there was no way that any of them could shake this big old wooden table.
So the guys talk the girls into trying it "one more time" that night so they did and my grandma said that the table started shaking and kinda going on two legs then the other two, so my grandmas girlfriend jumps up and says "stop, stop I dont want to do this anymore" and gram says at that moment the table slammed on to one side and slide across the floor to the wall and rattled up against the wall for a couple seconds then fell over on to the table top! :scared1:

Very Cool Stories!!! Thanks so much for sharing them!

I enjoy this program too. There is one about the Dartford Cemetary here in WI. I keep telling DH we need to take a road trip to visit this cemetary as it's only about two hours away.:thumbsup2

I did the same thing last night. I was so bored though that I fell asleep halfway through, it just does not keep my interest.

The dead body stuff is very freaky!

I agree with you about the ghost hunt with TAPS or another paranormal group, but I would definitely have a hard time doing something like that on my own!

I have never seen A Haunting...what station is it on? I bet I can find it on line and scare myself to death...then again my husband is going away in a week or two so maybe I should wait b/c that seems to be the time I find something to scare the life out of me:rotfl:

This is a post from the "open casket when it should have been a closed casket" thread. I thought it kind of fits in on this thread.

But then again.....why did it happen at that specific time??? Obviously the body could not 'cry' on its own but coincidence?? I don't know while it could be debunked, I always ask myself why did it happen THEN not before not after the family was there.

I think it's on the Discovery channel. They're creepy, but I wish there were more of them. Once you start watching, it's not long before they're repeats.

My neighbor's DD12 had a friend sleep over and she brought a ouija board with her. :scared1: That's something that scares me. DSs wanted to "play" with it --I told them what happened to me, and just said it's not a toy. I gave them a healthy dose of fear and told them they had to use it in the park outback if they did it. They tried once, said it gave them a name and then got scared! They weren't even sure if it was one of them pushing it, but I was glad they were frightened enough to not touch it again.

Here's their question, tho, and I didn't have an answer. They asked "why is it made by a toy company and sold as one?"

My parents used to do Tabletipping with their friends, too! Must have been the drinking game of that era! :rotfl2:

It was this old, unvarnished table. It would tap out the letters of the alphabet to make words.
