Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

There was a thread from webmaster saying that the boards were going to be down at 11:30 for extensive work so I am hoping it was fixed. Jeesh nobody cared about my Monkeys as Children Thread either. NOW that is scary!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Me! Me! Me! Mine is not as freaky as the others though.

First, let me say I am a HUGE GH fan and watch it every chance I get. Love all things Paranormal.

Ok, back in my high school days I had a friend that lived in a historical house. One of the early Gov of the state lived in this house. It was one of those old homes that had all hardwood floors and the basement was all dirt. Sppoky yet cool. I loved staying with my friend as she basically had no curfew and we stayed out late. Typical teenage stuff. ;)

So one night we were coming home late and tried to be as quiet as we could coming in. We got to the top of the stairs and found my friends "mom" in the doorway to her room with the door only partially opened (you'll see why I say that in a moment). So we did our apologies and went to bed. When we got up the next morning for breakfast, we saw my friend's mom in a different nightgown then what we saw her in the night before. We questioned her about changing, she said no she had worn that to bed. Now I look at my friend and she looked at me and I swear our eyes were about to bug out. Her mom asked what we saw her in, we explained the nightgown was partially blocked by the door, but it was a white eyelet gown. Her mom was in bright red! So said she has also witness this same thing and never mentioned it before.

I know when they moved into the house they found a lot of military type items in the dirt of the basement. I never felt comfortable in the room they used for the tv area because the door to the basement area is off of that. After that night we came in late, I always had the feeling someone was watching us and could never shake it.

I missed this one last night too! The way you describe the house sounds a lot like mine. Half dirt cellar and hard wood floors(LOL). My house is only like 123 yrs old. My friend who grew up in the same city had a tunnel under her house left from the Underground Railroad. She went in the little door that lead to it once when she was first married and found lots of bottles etc. She turned around and ran out b/c she said it was too dark and scary. She said she never had anything para normal happen.

Love,love,love this thread!

I have quite a few stories, ever since I was a little girl I remember seeing things in houses we lived in. Ironically, one of those houses was owned by a witch before we moved in. In one of the closets, their was a panel that slid and behind it we found a cauldron w/ snail shells, hair, rocks and other wierd things. I'll save that story for later. This one happened in CA about 6 years ago just before my grandma's passing.

We lived in a townhouse type home in Ft Irwin CA (dh is military) and one day we were in the backyard (me and both ds's) We had a pug and all of a sudden he started barking at the roof by the boys window. My ds (oldest was about 4 at the time) looked up and said "mom, there is a man looking in my window" I look up and see nothing so I take the kids and dog in the house. The dog ran to the stairs and went crazy barking and growling. I saw nothing at all. I smelt cigarette smoke in the stairs so I went up to see what was going on and saw nothing. The next few days we would get phone calls and on the caller ID it would be all zeros, when I picked up nothing but static. (static phone calls lasted for about a month)

A few days after the man at the window sighting, I was in the kitchen looked up into the laundry room and saw a shadow man walk passed the door I got scared walked in to see what it was and no one was there. I called dh and he came home because I was so scared there was a man in the house.

A couple weeks later my grandma passed (I just told my grandma's passing on another thread) and while I was in NC for the funeral I told my mom about all the wierd things happening, she seems to think it was my grandaddy coming around to either warn me or comfort me w/my grandma getting ready to pass. He was a smoker.

Welcome, I 'd say you have a lot of catching up to do so. That was a good story but we want MORE (you'll soon realize one is not enough :rotfl: ).

BTW, I was on the TAPs site and began reading some of the ariticles written by different TAPs memebers. Some ( like the ones Barry writes) are a tiny bit hard to swollow but others are very good. BTW2, I did not read the ones about negative energy.

Thanks to Bella, I now have a new thread addiction!

Okay, another one...

The house we moved into when I was a little girl, I really don't remember much about it because I was so young. We moved in and the neighbors came over to introduce themselves and filled us in on the old neighbors. From what they said, their was a woman living their who was a witch, she had a roommate and the roommate would tell the neighbors she would lock herself in her room at night because she was scared of the woman (witch) who owned the house. There's a little background on the place.

As I mentioned, we moved in and we're putting stuff in the closet, my dad noticed a panel that slid open, he slid it open and on the other side was another area where he pulled out a cauldron w/ the hair, snail shells (they were the tiny ones) and other weird stuff. In my closet there were kid games, stacks of them. The neighbors said no kids lived there.

My brother would wake up in the middle of the night screaming the teddy bears were coming out of the closet so my mom would put them in the closet and shut the door. One night he was screaming and my mom ran in there, the teddy bears were laying in the middle of the floor. Freaked my mom out.

Another time, my mom woke up to voices and she said she heard two women talking, they were talking about how they liked what we were doing to the house and they hoped we continued to take care of it. I personally never experienced anything first hand in this house but this is what my mom and brother did.

Another story, we were living in Germany staying in temporary housing until we could get our apartment. The housing was Army housing and use to be Nazi barracks during the war. The US Army took it over after the war and that's where US troops and their families lived. Well, the top floors were to house families who were just getting in until we were assigned perm. housing for our tour. The top floors use to be the maids quarters to the Nazi officers, some apartments having 3 bedrooms others having 8.

We got our temp. apartment and a week later dh went training for 2 weeks. There I was in a foriegn country w/ a 6 mo all by myself for 2 weeks. The apartment had an uneasy feeling as it was but at night I would keep ds in the bedroom w/ me and I would stay under the covers. I started hearing my sons Dr Seuss book started making sounds at night, I thought maybe the batteries were dying and that was why it was acting strange so I would make sure it was turned off and it would still start playing. At night it sounded like someone was walking in the room. There was always a feeling of being watched.

I talked to the girl who lived right below me (she had lived there for 2 years) and she told me when no one was staying there, she heard walking and talking. She then told me the history of the post and our apartments.

We then moved to our permanent apartment and I was so glad to get out of there! Luckily, nothing strange at the new place.

I'm still catching up on this thread and really enjoying all the stories.

I just spent HOURS UPON HOURS neglecting my family.... so I could read each and every story on this thread!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I have to say I don't think I'm "sensitive" to anything, (though I do have some stories I'll get to them later ;) ) but I really do believe in all this, and really love it, as long as the spirit is not an angry one. To me, it truly is heart warming to hear your stories of your loved ones on their death beds, they see their family members who have already passed - its so comforting. Some of your stories really amaze me, like your kids seeing things and saying things that they have no business knowing.... its just amazing! I have never played with a Ouiji board, but have always really wanted to... think I'll leave that alone after reading some of your stories though!!!! As far as GH goes, I really like watching that show, but it does freak me out a bit!! DH and I stopped watching it for a while because we were getting to freeked, but started watching it again recently. So anyway... what to hear my stories??? They are no where as great/horrible  as some of yours, but here they go.

DH and I had a friend - he was more than a friend, he was our best friend. He was supposed to be the best man in our wedding, but due to a habit he had that we didn't know about, he passed away in his parents home about 3 months before our wedding. About 3 days after his passing, we believe that he came to say good bye to us. In the middle of the night, our TV started going on off on off on off on off etc. Every time it turned on, the volume was on like 1000 - then finally it just stayed on, at the very high volume. DH grabbed the remote and tried to turn it off, but it wouldn't turn off - we had to get up and physically pull the plug for it to stop. Didn't really think anything about it - both went to the bathroom and went back to sleep. A few hours later I was up getting ready for work. I went into the kitchen and I heard a noise. Our house was built in 1960, and it had stayed that way till we remodeled it :rotfl: so we had that really old school oven. It had the exhaust that wasn't a digital button, but a knob - it was turned on, all the way over to the softest setting. Back then, I didn't have kids, I was working full time, in short, I didn't cook - I had never turned that thing on, nor ever had a reason to turn it on. At that moment, I walked out of the kitchen and called up to DH who was still in bed. Now, I used to go to work very early in the morning, so getting DH out of bed at that time would normally be very hard, but for whatever reason, that morning, he just got up and came over to me. I told him that the exhaust was on in the kitchen - he just gave me a look, you know, the look that means, I know what I'm thinking, and I think I know what your thinking - and I think its the same thing!!! I kind of turned away from him, looked up, and said "Joe, we love you more than anything in the world, and we wish you were still here with us. We thank you so much for saying goodbye to us, but get the **** out, your scaring the **** out of us!!!
I used to get home 2-4 hours earlier than DH at that time, but for a whole week I refused to be home alone, and would just drive around, or go to the mall till I knew he was home!
Since then he has never done anything in the house again, but I did have a dream.... I don't really remember any of the dream, just that I woke up because Joe was hugging me and I couldn't move - it almost felt like he was trying to... enter me... like in Ghost... really freaked me out - When I was finally able to speak, I woke up DH and said "Joe is here"... I think he just turned back over and went back to sleep thinking I was nuts, but I was up for the rest of the night!
Anyway, sorry my post is so long, but it felt really good to get this story off my chest. I remember leaving the state penitentiary that holds the "ghost tours" in Philly around Halloween - can't remember the name of it, but GH did two episodes there - with friends and telling them the story, and they kinda looked at us like we were nuts.

:yay: Stories!!

GREAT stories my*jck*luv and SharpMomOfTwo!!!!

The teddy bear thing would have freaked me out. And why all the kid games??? What the heck were those witches doing? :scared1:

Oh, and SharpMomOfTwo....I think you're wise not to touch a ouiji board now or ever...just a little PSA.;)

sHARP MOM AND MY JCK, Great stories! If anyone is interested my husband is away again tonight. I am remembering the last time he was away and the whole evp thing....I WILL be sleeping on the couch outside my son's room with the light on as per usual!

How long's he gone Bella?

Over night! I am going to be looking for some sitcoms OR when all else fails I will watch my son's collection of Family Guy....it's gutter humor at its best!\

OR I can go and recruit more participants for this thread from the "What do you think happens when you die thread." LOL!! The more first hand accounts the better!

My dh is gone a lot due to deployments so I sit down and watch scary movies then when it's time for bed, I'll turn on every light leading to the bedroom then turn them off one by one until I get back there. I will turn the TV onto a comedy show, watch for a few minutes, make sure I'm tucked into bed and turn the TV off w/ the remote. Crazy, huh? But I love my scary movies! DH is home for a few months so I wont have to do the light thing:lmao:

Never mind the recruit more participants for this thread thing....I just read the "When you die ...." thread it is getting pretty heated and I do not think that most of those people fighting over there would be any fun on this thread!
:rotfl:

If I'm up late, I'll look for your light...you can always dis. Unless there are additional stories on this thread of course. Then I'd have to advise against it. :rotfl:

Well scary movies do not scare me (except for the Exorcist) unless they are based on a true story. The stuff I read on this thread scares me b/c it is usally a first hand account. When you look at the number of views on this thread(not the posts) you realize that in such a short time over 12,000 people have read this thread then you KNOW that there are tons of people out there who at least are open to what we talk about.
