Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I will. I'll try to look tomorrow or this weekend - DH is the computer savvy one and he's a tad grumpy right now I just found out :headache:

Herd, that was a scary story!

I just want to say I got the James Van Pragh book Ghosts Among Us and it is actually pretty good. It was gift b/c I would not buy his books b/c I think he is questionable (not like Sylvia Browne who is out and out a charlitan). it is actually good book and it really hits home on most of the things he says.

May I join this thread? I started to read it back in May when it was at around 10 pages. I quit reading anything that didn't pertain to getting me ready to go to WDW when DS and I were getting ready to go a few weeks back. We took a "last blast with our APs before they expire" trip earlier this month. I just now got around to catching up on reading from where I left off through the thread.
I've been sensitive and had things happen to me all my life. I think my DS and I are paranormal magnets. It doesn't matter where we are we will see things. My DD is also sensitive but not nearly as much. It freaks her out more and she doesn't like it. It doesn't really bother DS and I most of the time. We're just used to it. There has always been so much activity in our house by so many different spirirts I know there is no way they all came from this house. That's why I say I think we're magnets. I think a lot of them come because we are here.
Our house has been here since sometime around the civil war give or take 10 years. I have researched back as far as somewhere around 1879 so far. That is around the time *Mary* comes from. Mary definately came with the house as well as a little boy. The rest come and go. We have lived here since 1991 and DS was born in 1995. He has talked about Mary and the little boy all his life. We have seen them both a number of times and we saw Mary as a full body apparition twice. As mentioned earlier in this thread by others we thought she was someone else at first. When DS saw her he thought it was me until he realized that I was asleep on the couch next to him. When I saw her I thought it was my DD but she was still upstairs asleep. I have found Mary in my research on the house and she is buried in the cemetary near our house. I haven't found the boy yet but I believe he could be Mary's son I just need to find time to pick up where I left off in my research.
We've also had the name calling happen to us like other people talked about here. Our ghosts used to have a blast playing jokes on us with that until the kids finally caught on and started ignoring it. We haven't had any of the name calling for some time until earlier today while I was reading here LOL. I got up and went to the kitchen and came back in here and DS asked if I had called his name. I said it wasn't me and he just shook his head.
So many of the experiences y'all have shared here are similar to things I've experienced over the years. I would love to join your conversation to compare notes. I think it could help me understand a lot of things.

Welcome millerwdwfans! You will have to share some stories about your house, sounds interesting::yes::

Glad your aboard! :goodvibes

Welcome millerwdwfans! Great story! What part of the country are you in?

millerwdwfans -

Just remember to NOT read this thread late at night when you're alone  ...

agnes!

welcome millerwdwfans.

It's a fun thread even if it does get a bit :scared1: at times.

LOL Well you might think the thread is scary but some of us who have experienced the things we talk about on the thread can tell you the thread is not half as scary as the experiences.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

DS12 bought a digital recorder for him to use at my dad's house (where other 2 DSs "saw" my mom years ago) while we visited this week. :goodvibes He had me set it on the table when we went to bed, so now he has 7 hours to listen to. He wasn't thinking about that part :rotfl2:

Be careful what you wish for! And if he gets something like my son did .....will he freak ? :scared1:

well, I have to say that if the things you've experienced were happening in my house it would be on the market tomorrow! :rotfl2:

I guess it would depend on what was said on it. All the things that have happened in the house started when my mom died, so we like to say it's her. When the boys saw her that added to it. It will be interesting...

I know but when some of these things happen in my house I choose to try and be in denial. Then again, some things you just cannot deny! Doors opening, and voices saying, " help me" on a tape. Those things are hard to deny.
I think that the woman who lived here before me died here. When we looked at the house the room that used to my our bedroom and is now my son's room had a hospital bed in it. For YEARS my son (mr. evp) would not sleep in his room but rather in the den on the couch (room next to his room). He would tell me he heard breathing in his room. I would buy him new comforters in any characters he wanted, I would make deals with him that if he slept in his room he would get prizes. He could not do it! I of course was in denial and I just figured it was his imagination. From the time he first slept in there when he was 3 till he was 16 he would not sleep there. Now that I think of it, he had experiences both on the third floor and 2nd floor! One day he just said," it is my room and I am sleeping in there!" He sleeps there now but once in a while I will find him on the couch in the morning and he will say he heard the breathing. Up till the voice in the attic I just chalked it up to road sounds.
(Jeesh these are things I had not really thought about till i started particpating on this thread!)

I truly believe he is psychic and a sensetive. I must admit that I had a few 'dreams' when i was in there too. One day we were recently talking and I told him one of the dreams where I was floating up to my canopy(flat) and I could actually feel my face up against the canopy. He looks at me and says, " So you were afraid to sleep in there so you made it MY room?" (That was not actually the case). Then he said , "See I told you I heard breathing and could not sleep there."

I just need to make this clear my son would kill me if he knew I was telling this stuff. He is for all intents and purposes a normal kid even though he does not sound like it!

I can imagine.

I have actually experienced some really scary things, most I refuse to talk about because I am very afraid of starting something up again (even though I don't live remotely close to there anymore)

I told my FIL story but that was comforting, and my oldest daughter has told us that she saw a little girl in her room (back when she was in 1st or 2nd grade)

I'll have to tell some of the stories from this house that aren't all that bad.

Nancy, I'd love to hear whatever stories you want to share although I don't think I'll read them tonight if you post, it's too close to bedtime.

I just have a question though, the little girl your DD saw, do you think it was someone who used to live there or a relative?

Thanks for the warm welcomes guys. I look forward to sharing and comparing notes. I think it helps if you have like minded people to talk to. Our incidents are usually not scary. Sometimes amusing, sometimes annoying. I'll try to share at least one now because I don't know how much I'll be online in the next week.
I have at least one ghost that doesn't like it when people fight. Maybe two. I'm not sure if it was the same ghost in the kids room one night and our room later or two different ones. I'll tell you about the first angry incident first.
All our floors are wood except the living room. So the kids room has a wood floor and the stairs are wood and the room at the bottom of the stairs has a wood floor. I woke up one night when I heard footsteps in the kids room that went down the steps, stomped around downstairs for a bit and then back up the steps and around the floor in the kids room again. I elbowed DH made him get up and go check on the kids. They were both sound asleep so DH tried to go back to sleep. A little bit later it started again. It was just the same thing over and over. It just seemed to stomp louder and louder. I made DH get up and check on the kids three times but they were sound asleep the whole time. This went on for 45 minutes before I was finally able to go back to sleep. The next day DD was talking to the neighbor who asked if we heard her and her BF fighting the night before outside in their front yard. DD said no, she hadn't heard them and the open window was right next to her bed but DD asked what time had it been. Well, you guessed it. It was when all the stomping around had been going on. Apparently our ghost didn't like the yelling.
The next time we had fighting neighbors it was on the other side of the house and it was Winter. This time I'm laying there trying to sleep and I heard voices. It was about 5am so I thought someone had got up early and had the tv on downstairs. DH was still in bed so I didn't figure the kids had got up that early. Next I thought maybe I was hearing a ghostly conversation. Finally I realized it was coming from out side. The neighbors were fighting and then they even blew the car horn a couple of times. Remembering the earlier incident I thought oh great now they're going to upset our ghosts. I was tired and wanted to sleep but I braced myself for the stomping to begin. No stomping but pretty soon I started to feel something fumbling with my hair. I was facing DH who was sound asleep so it wasn't him and I knew it wasn't the kids. I knew what it was but I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep. The more I ignored the worse it got until it yanked hard. That did it! I sat up and yelled.."It's 5:00 in the freaking morning and it's sub zero temps outside! I don't know what you want me to do! If you don't want them fighting go out there and show yourself to them and scare them! Leave me alone, I'm tired and I have to get up in an hour!"
Now don't get me wrong. I'm not really that brave. Sometime they can scare the crap out of me too. When I'm tired though I just want to sleep and I get mad. Sometimes if they're bothering me when I'm trying to sleep I sit up and yell "You're all dead! Go to the light and leave me alone, I'm trying to sleep!"
May not be the most scientific method but when I'm tired I want to sleep.
This second fighting neighbor incident happened over a year ago but it led to some confusion about a week and a half ago. I was just talking about that incident last night on another unrelated thread. I don't want to type it all out again but I'll see if I can find it and I'll come back to copy and paste it here.
