Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I was 17 when I saw it, it was pretty scarey back then. I just remember the board moving on it's own and that creeped me out. :scared:

Here's the trailer for the movie ;) :

Okay it looks scary but only b/c I could identify with the movement on the board. I must say that Tawny has some funky clothes as did the rest of them. Is it an 80's movie?

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Ward, what the heck! Ok, what sitcoms are on tonight...and was that thing going in a figure 8? That's the same thing that it did with us. .

Family Guy is on right now on adult swim on Cartoon Network. ;)

Ok, I'm pretty freaked out. If ***** comes back, I'm sending her to your house ward :rotfl2: .
 :scared1: :faint:

It is from 1987. Yeah, those clothes were a walk down memory lane.

You could identify the movement too. Like the way it turns itself in a weird round about way to answer yes or no. Yup, I'm pretty freaked. Is this normal? I can't even bring myself to research the board....it took everything I had just to recount my experience. I don't want to do anything to bring that thing back. Or is it too long a time that's passed.

Seriously, I couldn't even watch the rest of the trailer.

Ok, paranormal movies scare me too.

It was kind of creepy watching it this late at night. I had to go turn on some more lights and Family Guy. :rotfl:

Did you mean satin or was she wearing something satanic - cause I'm not going back to look.

hi everyone. That was pretty strange with the posts and quotes all messed up a few pages back, but at least it was happening all over the boards, not just this thread.

No more stories from me tonight. My daughter graduated highschool today (which is why I wasn't around all weekend between cooking and cleaning for family coming over) and I'm pretty beat. I'll have a funny one tomorrow

I'm looking forward to the story.:hyper:

Wow talk about a Freudian Slip ....I meant satin LOL!!
:lmao: :rotfl2:

Whoa! You all were hoppin' last night! Cool!!:cool1:

As far as scary movies, I am a jumper. If they do something that will make the average person jump a bit, I am flinging my arms around and knocking over drinks! Can't seem to help it.

So I like a scary movie here and there, but do better watching them at home. And sometimes if I am really getting spooked, I turn off the volume. Or go in another room and just listen at the door. Pretty silly!

And, while scary movies are fun, I do NOT like zombie movies! Every once in a while I have a zombie dream and I always wake up petrified and have to wake up DH who is no help at all, but if I am awake, he gets to be too!:rolleyes1

I totally love scary movies! I remember when Blair Witch came out - it was just have HS for me. My brother wanted to take me to see it in the theatre, but I didn't want to go with him..... I went with a bunch of friends, and we screamed our heads off!!
Before I had my first, I saw Dawn of the Dead in the theatre with DH. I thought it was the worst movie ever, not scary at all. Then I got pregnant many months late, and started having very vivid dreams about it - they were horrible! I would wake up, and no matter what, I couldn't close my eyes again, or I'd see the "non dead" coming after me!!!

Herd, how do you even know what sleep is? With quads, I would let those dream zombies get me if it meant I could have more sleep.:rotfl:

The kids sleep pretty well. They nap more often than not and get nearly 11 hours of sleep most nights. They really don't have any other option! Some nights, if it has been a long day with a little extra cranky thrown in, they are put to bed early. And lately getting to sleep has been tough because we moved the boys in together and they think that means 'party time!' But aside from that, it isn't too strange or weird.

The latest scary movie I saw, was Cloverfield. Not ghost related.

The last ghost movie I saw would have to be An American Haunting-mentioned before. I had heard of the Bell Witch before the movie and was very excited when I was able to record it on the DVR. It was okay, but the ending plot twist was pretty gripping.

They sound like lots of fun especially boys. I have two boys and they really are fun! They must be at a really cute age, enjoy before you know it you will be sitting in the stands for college graduation...it goes that fast.

As to scary movies An American Haunting was just yuck, it was the one with Donald Sutherland.

I have to say my favorite scary movie is Exorcist. If you have never read the book please do. Also, if you have never watched Excorcist with the director's commentary do it! William Freidken tells lots of the background of the moive AND he tells about some of the scenes that really happened. MUCHO scary!
Keep in mind the book is based on a true case of possession AND some of the actors in the movie really were Jesuit priests.

I was like 12 when the book came out and I remember at the time Merv Griffin had a talk show on opposite Johnny Carson. It was summer and I was up all by myself ( my mom did not know). They said the topic was exorcism that night and they had some of the priestes in the movie as well as someone who has performed an exorcism. I had NO idea what exorcism was none! Para normal topics just were not discussed all that much and there was no internet(yeah we had two cans and a string for a phone). I stayed up and watched the show and OMG I can to this day remember the terror I felt after I heard what they were discussing. We were brought up believing there was no such thing as ghosts etc! I had to call my mother from the living room b/c I was afraid to go into the hall and up the stairs alone. I slept with the light on and the covers over my head till I got married .....12 years later!!!

What about the movie Room 1409 with John Cussack - has anyone seen that one? DH want's me to watch it, but I wasn't sure.

All I know about 1409 is that it is based on a short story by Stephen King, and though I have read almost everything he has written, this story does not sound familiar. I wanted to see it when it came out, but DH is tired of me dragging him to scary movies that end up just being gross! ex: Seven and The House on Haunted Hill.

I have watched a couple of shows on the History channel (I think) about The Exorcist. I haven't read the book, but thought it was pretty freaky that the child in the 'real' story is actually a boy. And it happened not to far from where I live now.

But here again, if it is not a TRUE story then it is not scary for me. I could watch that and not be afriad b/c 9 times out of 10 I usually watch the additional features first.

Wait I do know one that I found scary. It was the one with the guy that used to come back like every 25 years and eat people. While I know it was not something that would happen it was very scary. I wish I could remember the name. The movie starts out with the monster in a field looking like a scarcrow and he eats the child(off screen). Anyone know which one I am talking about? I cannot remember the name.
