Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I love that gorgeous mill! Does anyone here live close to it? I give that part 5 ghosts.

The second part gets 4 but I'm always more generous when a very historic place is involved. Plus I enjoyed Tango's Dad's expression when they heard the voice.

I haven't seen Kris involved in much lately but she did experience some noises and so on in earlier episodes. She seems to hang out mostly with the new guy in training which is odd since she's kind of new herself.

Did anyone notice that next week is supposed to be the shocking mid-season finale per SciFi? Didn't they already have a mid-season finale this year? Oh well, I'll just have to hope that Destination Truth comes back soon.

Does anyone have any background on the uncle who threw the nephew out the window in the second part? I missed part of the show last night so I didn't hear where the second investigation took place.

WOW! What's up with these super short seasons? :confused3

But then as soon as they end GHI starts up . I think it is because they could not devote as much time as necessary to all the shows needed. It was like a run away train. ONce I heard Jason say that just doing the few shows they did in Europe took 6 weeks and that each show takes 9 days.

It seems like they do four or five shows then they take a month off and then do four or five shows and so on. It's weird how broken up the seasons are now.

Have they mentioned when GHI is supposed to start again? I don't like the team as much but I LOVE the locations.

Oh me too. I love all those old castles and stuff.

I have to say the last page was very interesting. I don't think anyone on here is nuts. It's nice there is a place where you feel free to talk about those experiences.

As for the GH show, I actually liked the one that come after. When I saw what episode it was I had to watch the first part. When that image shows up on the thermal camera it literally makes me get goosbumps. He looked so menacing to me.

I think that you mean the episode in the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. We've gone on the ghost tour there a few times and the basement is pretty eerie. It was fascinating to see them in the same area. I can definitely say that I don't remember anything shiny down there.

Catching up here for the last few days posts.

Bella and Breezy, have either of you ever worked on "developing" your intuitions?

I guess many do, but I don't think of these things as nutty at all. I think it's cool, just not well understood. I'm glad I sought out trying to understand it on my own, because the knowledge has made me grow spiritually, I believe.

Even though it's not always discussed openly (though I'm always game ;) ), sometimes people surprise me. I lost my BIL recently and was surprised how open my MIL was to discussions about spirits, the afterlife, etc. In fact, I lent her the book on Near Death Experiences which I mentioned many pages back (which is why I never gave you the name of the book, Bella - I'll try to get it, though), and to my surprise, she was already reading Ninety Minutes in Heaven which someone else had given her. I was glad, as she's finding peace in the readings.

How the NDE book came into my hands had an interesting story - and illustrates how my intuitions typically work. I went out to go to WalMart to return something. I drove around the parking lot 5 times trying to find a spot that would allow me to keep an eye on my car because my dog came for the ride, but I couldn't find one so I decided I'd go to WalMart another day. Hmm, what to do then? I suddenly had the urge to go to a thrift store that I enjoy, but don't get to very often. Drove right there, walked in, and immediately made a bee line for the books, the area I generally stop last. The bookshelfs were neatly stacked, as if someone had just straightened them out. All books were vertically on the shelves, except for two that were laying horizontally on top of the stacked books. I immediately reached for those two. And what do I find they are but the NDE book, and another on grieving by medium James Van Praagh (whose show I used to enjoy but I've never read his books). :earseek: Interesting, as I'd been thinking a lot about this since my BIL was young and his death was sudden. As it happened, I was off from work so read both books in a couple of days, then lent them to MIL, which is what I had the strong feeling I should do. The NDE book, especially, was really comforting to both me and my DH.

This type of thing happens a lot to me. It's uncanny. What I've come to believe is that I have "someone" guiding me. I have my suspicions about who it is, and that it may even be more than one "person". Kind of like a guardian angel(s). Sometimes, I'm a little surprised, like in the example above. And sometimes, I just feel confident I'm making a right choice about something. Some people call this coincidence. I think there's more to it than that. I try to keep and open mind and have learned to trust my intuition.

ok, I stopped reading this thread after my post on page 15 or so, because I was really getting the heebie-jeebies!! But the funny thing is, I didn't subscribe to it, and it keeps popping up in my In-box in my email. And I hadn't revisited it for a long time, and the emails always say "this will be the last one you get till you revisit the thread" or something like that. And I haven't revisited, but I keep getting them, and this doesn't happen with any other threads!!! Is there a ghost in my 'puter????? :rotfl: (but i'm really serious!) So I came to read it today, and I just had to respond to this one...

"Well mum I chose to come to you and dad, I knew Grammie and Auntie from before but I did not know you."

My aunt, who is very into astrology, physics, reincarnation, etc, has a belief that we all are always re-born into the same family line and we have had a relation in a past life to the people who are in our lives now (gender doesn't matter - a man could have been someone's grandma, etc). So what your ds said would make sense along this line of thinking.

And along this line, I have 2 stories... my brother and his wife met when they were in their 30's (one of them answered an on-line ad), and brother says that when he walked into the restaurant for their first face-to-face meeting, it was *instant recognition* for him. He looked at her, felt as if he's always known her in a way he's never felt before. They hit it off, and were married a few months later, and it's been 9 years or so now. And she looks SO much like my father's family - she looks just like my grandmother and aunt (but maybe that's part of brother's instant recognition)... AND she and I have the same birthday (different year though). He just really feels as if they had a prior connection, and he's never felt like this before. And boy, does she fit right into our family. we're all very, very close, like we were all meant to be together in this time of our lives.

And me... when I met one of my first serious boyfriends when I was a teen, I always felt a different kind of connection with him than I've ever felt before. It wasn't an "i love you" connection, but just something that's hard to explain... it's just a connection... not good or bad. We dated on and off for a few years (he actually lived overseas and would visit the US, we'd write to each other and call, I went to england to visit him once, and we got pretty serious, but I then met my dh and started dating him, and it was like I was meant to be with dh). Anyway, fast forward to now... this ex and I hadn't been in touch since I was 22yo or so (I'm 40 now), and he looked me up on classmates dot com last year just for ha-ha's, and we got back in touch. I mentioned in one of my emails about my aunt's belief, and that I felt a connection years ago with him that might fit into aunt's belief, and he wrote back that he had also felt something weird, but would never want to admit it (and he's the typical type of guy who would laugh at stuff like this and say how totally silly it is), and that he had felt an 'attraction' to me when he first saw me, that he's never felt before or since. And not like a "she's so attractive" attraction, just something's he's never felt before. so who knows. But it's like we weren't meant to be in each other's lives in *this* life for some reason.

I remember my aunt also saying if you've ever met someone and felt an instand 'bad' feeling about them, but couldn't explain why, it could be someone who did something bad to you in a past life, and you just happen to cross paths again. interesting stuff...

Some even take it further to say that not only are we around the same souls as we've always been, but that we actually choose who we'll be with and what the cirucumstances are going to be in order to learn, and to evolve our spirits. I've read that when you have that feeling of deja vu, it's because, yes, you have seen it before - you were shown it before you were born! :stir: Now many think this is complete hogwash and ask why we would ever subject ourselves to some of the awful things we find ourselves living through. I don't know. But it is interesting to think about...

When I was 19, I'd just moved out of my house, started college, began a new job, and the furthest thing on my mind, truly not something I ever thought about at that time - was marriage. (I was going to be a "career girl".) Meanwhile, I met a great guy and we became fast friends; seemed to have so much in common, basic values and stuff; felt like I'd known him forever. One day as he was walking away from me going home, I found myself standing there crying, sad that he was leaving, and heard my inner voice say, "I could marry that guy". Huh?? What did I just say?? :lmao: Well needless to say, we've been married for 21 years, together even longer. And I can't imagine my life without him. I actually told him this story (I believe for the first time) recently, after reading those books I mentioned above. I don't completely understand it, but I do believe it was destiny, and he agrees.

Bellebud, I am very interested in 'developing' my intuitions too but I have no idea how to do that.:confused3 Do you have any tips?

You know, I believe that certain abilities are inherited as well. I know anytime my mom's nose itched that meant someone was coming over. It was ALWAYS true too. I did not grow up in a social household so we didn't have a lot of visitors other than family. I can remember us all sitting down watching tv- it was after 11pm. My mom's nose started itching. She said 'Someone's coming over'. We all laughed and said things like "Yeah right, this late? I guess you nose is finally wrong". WIthin 5 minutes my Grandpa came over  (they lived 3 blocks away) and asked my dad to help him. He thought the poodle got out of the gate couldn't find him. We were ALL shocked. The reason he didn't call first is that someone was on the party line and he couldn't get on the phone. (Can you believe it, the early 80's and they still had party lines. )

I know I have certain abilities and my daughter has already shown abilities of 'mind talking' ever since she was little. DH and I joke about it and call it the Shinnin' (like the Shining - but the Simpsons' version) This is what we called it when we would think of something that is totally irrevelent to anything around us and she would mention it and say "what is ___ ___ ?" I told DH that she had a gift and he was like 'yeah, sure' - He tried it out one day on her. They weren't eating, they weren't even in the kitchen and DH thinks to himself " I should explain to DD (3 1/2 at the time) the difference between the regular fork and salad fork. Out of nowhere, DD goes into the kitchen and gets a salad fork and goes back to DH and says "This a salad fork". :scared1: :faint: Not only were we shocked at what she did, we were surprised she knew which one was the salad fork too.

I've come to think that maybe mind waves can move around in the air just like radio waves. Her mind was just a good receptor for the waves.

Pea-n-Me, I loved your story about your husband. It reminds me of the time I met DH for the first time. As we were introduced and I reached across the conference table to shake his hand - my inner voice said "you're going to spend the rest of your life with him". I later found out he was married, and I thought to myself - that's strange, I'm not usually wrong about this stuff - not when I have that strong of an intuition. Well, turns out about a year later he was divorced, we developed a best friends relationship and three years later we were married. Going on 11 years this Oct.

BTW, I hardly have time for it - but how do you "develope" your instincts. Just curious. :) Oops, was it Bellebud who suggested this - I just read wards post - sorry if I got the posters confused

Okay I'm just joining this thread.. I haven't read any posts please bear with me :) My dad passed away last month... and in the last 2 days I've had VERY VERY strange things happen... Wed at about 9:45pm I had both my screen door and reg door open.. now to open the "real" door you have to kind of kick the bottom it sticks and its VERY old! but no one was at the door to open it.. It freaked me out pretty bad I was on the verge of calling the cops.. I dont know if it was someone trying to break in or if my dad decided to pay me a visit?? I honestly saw NO ONE at the door... So yesterday my kids were playing up stairs.. when my attic door opened by itself... my middle child was like Hello.. mommy who's up the attic (its a 4th bedroom and their playroom) but in the summer they dont go up there often since its not cooled... I love my dad dont get me wrong but he's freaking me the hell out.. He always use to tease me he was gonna come back to haunt me if I didn't fulfill his final wishes.. well I did!! He was donated to science and he's having his going away party next weekend... WTH?? I need to get rid of my dad.. how do I do this??? I love him I do.. I miss him dearly almost every hour.. we were VERY VERY close.. but I'm not liking my dad scaring the crap out of me...

Along these same lines, I was wondering if anyone else has read the book When God Winks - how the power of coincidence guides your life? If you haven't, it's a good book, and really gets you thinking about these events in our lives we call coincidences, and what they might really mean. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks for the link, I'm going to see if the library has it. I'm trying to stay away from buying books- right before we moved last year I gave away 10 boxes of book to the local library - I'm trying not to collect them again.

Helene, if it's your Dad, there's nothing to be afraid of, he's just trying to get your attention and let you know he's there. (How else would you do it when you think about it?) Try acknowledging him. Tell him you know he's there, but you're a little scared with the doors opening and all. You don't even have to do it out loud - it can be telepathic (Ok, now everyone's really going to think I'm a nut :rotfl: but I'm serious.) Also, pay attention to your dreams.

Not at all, did you see the post I just put up?.

I would try to talk to him too. the only thing I would be leary of is what if it isn't him?:confused3

LOL, I just noticed it, we must have been posting at the same time. These threads can get confusing when the pace picks up. :rotfl2:

Well if it is him He's got my attention!! The front door thing was a LITTLE much! And it wasn't like it just creaked open.. On no.. full on opening of the door.. good lord.. is he trying to kill me too?? I have "talked" to him.. told him to knock it off.. its not funny (althought I'm sure he thinks it is..)
