Re developing intuitons (I mentioned it in post 429).

It's not something I've ever done formally, so I can't really speak much about it in that way. If you google it, there's a lot of information, some probably better than others. I know that some New Age bookstores, spiritualist churches, and psychic/mediums offer classes and there's also some Live Chat type things around the Net, things like that.

ETA look what I just found (and on sale, too :teeth: ). Someone here must need this: http://vanpraagh.com/index.php/courses.html

I've tried to do it on my own, just by reading. I also had my eyes opened A LOT the year I was in cancer treatment participating in support classes in things like Meditation, Angels, Reiki, Journaling, Mindfulness, Life Mapping, etc. These not only helped me with what I was dealing with emotionally at the time, but opened the door to a whole new way of thinking for me. I wanted to continue learning, as I found it really fascinating. Prior to that, I loved ghost stuff anyway. But this got me more into the spirituality aspect of it. Concidentally (or not ;) ), I'd already started on the spirituality journey before that. I've since become a Reiki practitioner myself, and do some work around complementary therapies in my work as a nurse, as well as in cancer support, which I now can offer to others rather than receive myself. I'm still learning. The biggest thing is just being open to it.

Helene, if it's your Dad, there's nothing to be afraid of, he's just trying to get your attention and let you know he's there. (How else would you do it when you think about it?) Try acknowledging him. Tell him you know he's there, but you're a little scared with the doors opening and all. You don't even have to do it out loud - it can be telepathic (Ok, now everyone's really going to think I'm a nut :rotfl: but I'm serious.) Also, pay attention to your dreams.

I agree with acknowledging that you know it's him HelenePA. If you haven't had any experiences prior, then it probably is.

Oh, and I agree with ward on the bolded part - if you just looked at my posts here - I passed nut a long time ago and am headed for full blown freak - at least that's what it feels like ;) . LOL

Well, Breezy, yours will go down as one of my all time favorites here on the Dis! :lmao:

Hmmmm, that reminds me - I need to enter part III, maybe this weekend. :surfweb:

Okay I'm just joining this thread.. I haven't read any posts please bear with me :) My dad passed away last month... and in the last 2 days I've had VERY VERY strange things happen... Wed at about 9:45pm I had both my screen door and reg door open.. now to open the "real" door you have to kind of kick the bottom it sticks and its VERY old! but no one was at the door to open it.. It freaked me out pretty bad I was on the verge of calling the cops.. I dont know if it was someone trying to break in or if my dad decided to pay me a visit?? I honestly saw NO ONE at the door... So yesterday my kids were playing up stairs.. when my attic door opened by itself... my middle child was like Hello.. mommy who's up the attic (its a 4th bedroom and their playroom) but in the summer they dont go up there often since its not cooled... I love my dad dont get me wrong but he's freaking me the hell out.. He always use to tease me he was gonna come back to haunt me if I didn't fulfill his final wishes.. well I did!! He was donated to science and he's having his going away party next weekend... WTH?? I need to get rid of my dad.. how do I do this??? I love him I do.. I miss him dearly almost every hour.. we were VERY VERY close.. but I'm not liking my dad scaring the crap out of me...

You might want to read the whole thread, I have a few posts re: my dad and uncle with similar situations. You simply tell your dad you are glad he contacted you but he needs to go to the light. His place is not earthbound anymore and he can come back once in a while but he does not belong here. Tell him goodbye and that you will be fine but you will meet again. Then get some smudge and/or sweet grass and burn it in your house to cleanse it. Now keep in mind this is often to clear out the negative energy and while you THINK it is your dad you do not know for sure and one thing you do not want is negative energy in your home.

As for the posts where people felt they had a connection to someone before that too happened to me. When I saw my husband he had started our first part time job in college. We worked in a grocery store. When I saw him I told my friends that he went to college with us and we knew who he was. They had no idea what we were talking about. He did not go to college with me but to another colllege but I always felt I knew him! We have been married 30 years and yes we had some rocky times but really I KNEW I knew him from before but before what?

Hello all!

Just read through the whole thread and I love it! Always have loved a good ghost story and DH and I watch GH and GHI (where everything is haunted even if it isn't!) faithfully.

DH and I used to stay up late (before children) and listen to Coast To Coast with Art Bell on the AM station. My favorite episodes were always the Ghost To Ghost where listeners would call in with their personal experiences. Of course, there was no way to verify or validate the stories, but they seriously creeped me out. I couldn't listen unless DH was home in time.

No real personal ghostly experiences of my own. A few coincidences here and there that were rather life-changing. But keep those ghost stories coming!:bitelip:

Welcome HerdOHuds! :wave2: (boy, you've got your hands full, 4-three year olds.:rotfl: )

DH used to work midnights and he would call me and say "There's some really cool ghosts stories on coast to coast right now, turn it on." Well I would turn it on for about 10 minutes, then I'd be up all night with the lights on. I think I'll look online for recordings of the show so I can listen during the day.

My husband used to love listening to Coast to Coast on the way to work at 4am when he worked early mornings. I miss hearing the stories from the show. I belive their website has some good ghost photos.

I hope so! :thumbsup2

I'd post tonight, but I've been having major typing problems - so I think I'll rest up and try tomorrow.

Besides, I see that Bella's light is on and I want to make sure she gets some sleep tonight. ;)

Wow I think I will try and find them. My husband is home at least for next week so I am feeling brave.

Here is the photo at the lighthouse in St. Augustine. My son took it way before I saw the GH show. Keep in mind it has been enlarged a huge amount so everyone could see it. We noticed in the orignial photo that there was something but as we enlarged we could make out the face. We have put the actual photo and the enlarged photo.
I took them out.

Can anyone see the photos? They were there when he posted them b/c we checked. I bet he made them too big. WEll I guess "EVP Boy" does NOT know everything about the computer. I am just going to have him post the link to the photo website he has them on.

They took a while to load, and I'm on Cable Modem. It might be better to post a link. There's definitely something in that picture.

You weren't having trouble sleeping because of your 'house guest' were you? I'm asking because you posted those pics awfully early this morning.

Well actually I usually get up at 5 but I was having some sort of dreams(?) that made me uneasy! I did not want my son to enhance or darken the photo so you could see it better but on my husband's lap top (where we saw it first) you could really really see the face. We just got a 10 megapixel camera with better zoom so hopefully when we go this time if we capture anything it will be clearer. You could see the hair style and even how it as parted on the better resoultion screen.

Bella, could you post the links to the pictures? It's kind of hit&miss whether or not they show up on here.

Once again I am at the mercy of "MR. EVP"! He is out right now so when he gets home I will tell him! I honestly do not know what he did but I know he was in some photo site he belongs to. That is the extent of my knowledge.

I think that you mean the episode in the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. We've gone on the ghost tour there a few times and the basement is pretty eerie. It was fascinating to see them in the same area. I can definitely say that I don't remember anything shiny down there.

That's the episode. There have only been a fw episodes of that show that literally gave me the chills. The Crescent Hotel and the Lighthouse were 2 of them.

I did a right click on the red X clicked on properties then highlighted the http line, hit copy and then pasted that into a new browser window and was able to see the pictures, they are pretty big! What's funny is they are showing up in the above quote as I am typing this...let's see if they show after I hit submit.

well they did show up in my quote but they are so huge I'm taking them out cause if people are on dial up it will take forever for their page to load. Plus you have to scroll way over to see the whole picture.
