Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I did not see it yet. I will watch it later so at least tell me was it good. Did the hair stand up on the back of your neck? We should make a scale to rate these shows. Say from one to ten ghosts. One ghost is the least scary and 10 is the most. So on a scale of one to 10 ghosts what would you rate this one?

I won't spoil the episode for you but I'd give it 8 ghosts

I will tell you this, there are 2 different ghost hunts in this episode. If you don't have enough time for the whole episode, at least watch the first 1/2. ;)

Oh I'm so excited now!! 2 family members down and 1 more to go!!:dance3:

... I know about the new house vs old house thing. I just TELL myself that so I don't think about it. There's sevral haunted places/sites around here. There were several Civil War Battles within a few miles. I live in the Chancellorsville section of Spotsylvania County 4 miles from where Stonewall Jackson was shot and killed by one of his own men.

Stonewall Jackson's death was so needless. First, there's the shooting by his own troops, then the amputation of his arm (which was done somewhere in the vicinity of Spotted Tavern?) Then, they (Lee I guess) decide to transport Jackson miles and miles and miles away from the fighting. If Jackson hadn't been transported by horse-drawn wagon over those nasty country roads, *if* he could have rested and recuperated after his arm was amputated, he might have survived for quite a while. As it was, he is supposed to have died of pneumonia.

And you know that marker that states 'Jackson's arm was buried here'? I remember reading a while back that the area was excavated somewhat recently... and it really *was*.

I live right near Chancellorsville Battlefield, Wilderness Battlefield, Spotsylvania Battlefield, and Fredericksburg (Battle of Fredericksburg) and then there's Mary Washington's House, Ferry Farm (Geo. Washington's boyhood home), Kenmore, home of Washington's father or something or other and a bunch of other historical sites. There's a story of a women's house that's haunted by a young civil war soldier and her house isn't that old. I'm surprised TAPS hasn't been to Fredericksburg, VA yet.

....

I have ancestors who lived in that area. Remember I mentioned Spotted Tavern? A ggggggrandfather owned that waaaaaay back in the 1770s. My ggggggrandmother was a member of Hartwood Baptist church in the area, (back when it was almost dangerous to be anything other than an Episcopalian in Virginia).

All the ghosts (whatever folks might think they are) in the area don't surprise me a bit. TAPS, etc. could practically do a whole series on Virginia.

agnes!

8 Ghosts seems respectable. I am psyched. I will watch it tommorrow night when I can watch the whole thing. I LOVE this show and it kills me that I have to wait a whole week to watch the next one.

Have they ever visited any battle grounds? Maybe it is because they need a power source for the their equipment. Maybe they should do a state by state investigation. I know Mass is a hot bed of activity with Salem and all the Revolutionary battle fields.

Gettysburg, PA is supposed to be a very 'hot' spot as well.

I agree, 8 ghosts for the first half - last half 1 ghost.

We used to watch GH, but we've gotten out of the habit of watching pretty much everything.

There was a creepy critter in my parents old house though. Whatever "it" was, it didn't care for me one bit. It really could have been my imagination, but there was this horrible, hateful feeling in the hallway after everyone else had gone to bed. If I told it to stay out of my room, it would. But it stayed just over the threshold. And if I shut the door, it would stay just behind the door. You could almost feel it throbbing.

One night I had a nightmare that I was a little girl hiding under my bed from this tall man in a suit. (I was a teenager at the time). It was so incredibly vivid, it really freaked me out. He was coming down the hallway for me, and I knew I couldn't get away. There would even be times that my dog would stare into the hallway and start growling (hackles raised and all).

Fast forward a few years. DH and I were married and visiting my parents. We were sleeping in the bedroom next to the room that I'd slept in while I was living there. He woke up in the early morning, barely daylight. He said there was a tall man in a suit standing over my side of the bed, but his face was moving so fast side to side that it was just a blur. He tried to reach over to shield me, but he couldn't move. The next thing he knew, it was a few hours later, and he was awake and normal. He still doesn't know if it was a dream or just a freaky thing.

And the weirdest part. I'd never told him about the dreams I'd had while living there. I'm pretty sure I'd mentioned the creep in the hallway, but the discription was his own. It hust happened to match mine exactly.

Did you ever notice how that happens. Usually when they have two different investigations the second one is usually only one ghost. I think that they cannot be successful in all the investigations and so they need to use up the ones that are not all that exciting so they tack them on. I think that when they have the double investigations and the first one is really good that I wish they would have just expanded on it rather than rush through it to go to the next one.

You know I just about to go to bed before I checked this thread, I guess I will not be sleeping now!

Dang, I'd give the first half 9 goosebumps.:scared1: The second part started out with so much potential, but was a total dud.

The good thing is that the second one was only 15 minutes long. Nice place though.

I loved the first part! It was interesting and strange....

I'm glad I waited until this morning to check this thread again. I certainly would have been sleeping with the light on if I read this last night.

Can someone post some more personal ghost stories since we have a whole week to wait till out next GH? I should clarify, anything to do with the para normal will suffice for me. I await the delivery of my book, " I Never Believed in Ghosts Until...." I purposely ordered it from B&N because they offer 3 day delivery!

Okay I have to slightly disagree with you on the first one I think I would rate it 9 ghosts! Really "thank you" , " I will do it" pretty scary to me but then again it was not an unfriendly entity but still. I hope I am not being too generous with my ghosts but I guess I am calling St. Augustine a 10 ghoster.

Second one is barely a 1 ghost.

Watched last nights episode. I am so glad that I watched it today instead of watching it last night in the dark. Creepy! I was really disapppointed with the second investigation. I am from NH, Manchester is about an hour and half away from where I live, and I wanted TAPS to have an experience there. There was a bigger chance of me being able to visit the Palace Theater then visiting anywhere else they have been. Oh well.

I only saw the first investigation, but it sounds like I didn't miss much by not seeing the second part.
I give it 8 ghosts!
To tell you the truth, this is the first time I've ever watched Ghost Hunters. I started reading this thread coz I wanted to read about all your ghostly encounters. But I'm planning on watching it every week from now on! I have a question, tho--what does TAPS stand for? Thanks!
