GHDs in the USA

Are they dual voltage and so suitable for use in the USA? I'm sure someone here will know!

It depends which model you have. The earlier models weren't dual voltage but all the later models (over the last three years I think) are. I use mine all the time with no problems.

Thanks. How do I work out which the later models are??? I am looking to buy some replacing my current ones.

It said on the box of my newest pair that they were dual voltage. It'll probably give the info on the GHD website for each model.

I know you've got it sorted now but just wanted to add, mine are probably 10 years old and are very temperamental out in the US.

One day we went to the mall and was conned into buying the 'best' hair straighteners! Lol NOT and when we went to get money back they wouldn't refund me! But at least I've now got some straighteners to use out there ( albeit not as good as my GHDs )

On the inside it should be stamped into the plastic. If it says 110v to 240v it should work

I just checked mine which are quite old and they say 220v-240v, I take it that means I can't work them there?

I'm dreading it as my hair dryer didn't work last time which for me was horrendous! I want tp be prepared this time.

Correct they won't work properly if at all

anything bought since 2010 should be dual voltage

I took my new ones earlier this month and they worked great. Although my hair didn't stay straight all day in that humidity it was a big improvement.
