Getting back to POP from the Poly at night

Hi, we are having dinner at 'Ohanas one night and MK closes at 8 we were thinking of watching Wishes at 8 and the Electrical Water Pageant at 9 and I am trying to figure out how to get back to Poly. Would the monorail still be running to TTC? If so will there still be buses running this late?

I guess our other option is to bus to DTD and bus back to POP but we will have 2 babies with us and this seems too long so we will probably have to skip it if that is the case.

TIA

Resort monrail runs very very late.

It stops at TTC every time as well.

Just take the monorail to MK and then walk over to the MK bus loading and go back to POP on the bus.

(SEE my other POST later in this thread).

I woulde either drive there myself or take the busses from the MK area to get straight to Pop. That way you can still get a monorail ride in if you want to. You can always get a taxi as well.

And after re-reading your OP...

You do know that the resort buses do NOT arrive and depart from TTC.
That ended years ago.

The resort buses boarding area is near the MK front gates (on the MK side of the lake).

That's why I said to take the resort monorail to MK and walk over to the buses.

If MK closes at 8pm, the buses will still be leaving up to 9:30pm or so.

The Electrical Water Pageant starts at 9pm at Poly beach and runs for about 7-8 minutes.

It will take you 10 minutes (approx. its a long way) to walk to the Poly monorail station from the beach. (And its still closer than walking to the TTC station.)

Another 10 minutes (approx.) to ride to MK (monorail makes a short stop at Grand Floridian station).

Another 5-10 minutes (approx.) to walk from monorail to the MK bus loading area.

That puts you AT the buses at about 9:30 - 9:45pm... which is "pushing it" with an 8pm MK closing time... you might have just missed the "last bus" to POP by then.

ALTERNATE ROUTE:
(Since Epcot "closes" at 9pm, Buses run until past 10pm)

Poly Beach until about 9:10pm
Walk to TTC directly from beach (12-15 min.)
Monorail to Epcot (12-15 min.)
Walk to Epcot buses (10 min.)
Bus to POP (approx. 9:50pm)

The "Pageant" is cute, but not a "biggie" (especially after Wishes), so if you don't want to spring for a taxi, I'd not wait that long to see it.
(I hate that late night trip to DTD/PI and changing buses to your resort).

If you don't mind a SPOILER, here's a link to viewing a video of the Electrical Water Pageant.

Video of the whole show.

We like the electrical water pagent. If you are unsure about catching a bus at MK then I would go the Epcot route. Besides its a cool ride through Epcot. Try to ride in the front if you can, and don't mind waiting. The lights at night are very pretty.

We're planning to do the same thing on 9/29 - the night of the first MNSSHP. Our ADR at O'hana is at 7:30 PM and Hallowishes is supposed to be at 9 PM.

Will the Hallowishes music be playing at the Poly? Will busses be running all night from the MK back to resorts?

The buses will always be running during any events at the parks where resort guests are in attendance.

As to whether the audio of the fireworks will or won't be "piped in"... we have had situations (any of the MK fireworks shows, over the years) where they DID and when they DIDN'T.

Don't know if someone SOMEWHERE forgot to "flip a switch" or some other tech problem... or if it was by intention for some reason.

So, while you will PROBABLY hear the audio... you MIGHT not.

Inside 'Ohana, when they do pipe-in the track, the audio can be heard pretty well.

On the Poly BEACH... if you want to hear the piped-in audio, you need to be very near the sidewalk or pool... and its not very loud, even then.

I would go the epcot route. We stayed at Pop last September and saw the Spirit of Aloha show at the Poly. (The later show)After the show we waited a long time for a packed bus to DTD.Then we waited a good amout of time again for a bus to Pop from DTD. I wish I would have thought about going over to Epcot it would have been much eaiser. Espically if you have very small children. Good luck and have a magical trip.

Since I am required (see my tag) to see EWP on each and every visit, sometimes multiple times we find that just getting on the first bus going somewhere, anywhere that we can catch another bus to our resort works for us. Just be careful NOT to go somewhere that has been closed for a bit as the buses may have stopped running.

It is a hard job, being on the EWP Suite, but someone must do it and they put up with me so very well that I really cannot complain, much. :rotfl2:

We have met some of the nicest people while waiting for a bus. Go with the flow and see where the magic leads you!
