Geriatric MM Warriors!

Good Nite MM's - 12 hour day for me at work tomorrow so I HAVE to sleep!! I will be around alot tomorrow as Saturdays arent that busy, so if y'all get sick of seeing me just say so!!

I looked at LCF this am and realized we need to invite Seabreezes over here. How can we PM her without saying too much?? If we get shut down, we won't be able to message our other friends. Nell, how did you invite us again, I don't remember?

:surfweb:

I'm here. Thank you Lisa for contacting me. Once I got all the info it wasn't hard to find you.

Bev, this site is so cute. Love all the smilies.

I'll get my profile set up after I catch up on the posts.

Aloha,

Jocelyn

Kathy - I LOVE Tyson dancing!!! We are going to love it here!!

I have to e-mail Diane tonite with my week of step 1 rerun menus and sugar readings, plus asking about the great pumpkin debate and the use of black soybeans for somebody (forgot who), so I plan to ask her about the new forum she is planning...will be interesting to hear from her in her own words and not Georgias! I know that Georgia has been e-mailing her and probably got that thing rolling...I just dont want to be under the admin rules or GL's new dictatorship!!!

AMEN!

I'm the one who wanted the info on the black soy beans. Thank you.

When go to post I have to keep logging back in and then starting all over. Is that because I am new?

I had to laugh about me being older!!!!:laughing: I am probably the senior member, but I don't really feel old!!

I'll keep catching up. I think just staying on this thread will be great as long as they are more accomodating.

Aloha,

Jocelyn

Aloha,

It's nice to see you here Seabreezes!

I'm happy to talk to everyone by phone too. Right now though we're keeping the phone clear because my father in law's sick. I hesitate to give out the number in case it's a bad time. I'm sure we'll all talk on the phone though soon. And I like the idea of meeting in Disney world some day!

I'm going to sleep. See everyone in the morning! :grouphug:

Here's one for sugar alcohols too

Comparison of Sugar and Sugar Alcohols

Ingredient Sweetness GI Cal/g
Sucrose(sugar) 100% 60 4
Maltitol Syrup 75% 52 3
Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate 33% 39 2.8
Maltitol 75% 36 2.7
Xylitol 100% 13 2.5
Isomalt 55% 9 2.1
Sorbitol 60% 9 2.5
Lactitol 35% 6 2
Mannitol 60% 0 1.5
Erythritol 70% 0 0.2

Thanks - that is interesting. I know Laura Dolson recommends the Erythritol for baking. Sweetfreeze is the name of the liquid one. I keep thninking I will order it. This confirms why it is good.

As usual all of my posts will be at the end!!

My day started at the dentist so he could finish putting a new bridge in my mouth. I am not a happy camper as my mouth aches still. It looks good, though!! There was not room for an implant, so had to go the other route.

I am so glad to "see" all of you. I didn't see how the other site was going to function at the rate it was going. When GL put her post out I decided I did not have a home any more.

Kathy, I must have missed a post about Carrie - it sounds as if they are taking it further??? What will they think of next. I onetime mentioned legal assistance - have you looked into that? I think costs are based on income. she certainly didn't threaten anyone. I have a hard time with the stands people take.

I tried to get a couple of pictures up, but they are so small they really can't be seen. I'll play around with some more later on. :surfweb:

Are you going to do a new thread weekly again?? You had a lot of posts for just 2 days!

Can you do sub-threads for recipes? When I see a recipe I like I copy it into a word document and then save it on my computer in a folder for low carb or MM recipes. That way they are always with me.

Again, thank you so much for including me in the new forum. I really appreciate being part of the group.

Nell, what a scary thing to have happen. I get quite upset over things like that.

Hope you all had sweet dreams and I will "see" you later in the day.

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good night's sleep. I slept well, but I also took nyquil. Feeling really shaky this morning. Hard to describe. Just like I'm really nervous. I don't know if it was the nyquil or what's going on. I ate my 5x5 yogurt as soon as I got up, so hopefully it's just because I didn't really have anything in my belly yesterday.
Seabreezes, it's so nice to see you here. And in my opinion, your not a senior. You're as old as you feel. And with all you do, I'm thinking you feel like you're in your 20's. It's nice to be home :D
Has anyone heard from Tutu? I just hope all is going better for her son. Kind of worrying about her. I'll feel better once she gets here.
Well, Tyson is wanting to play, so I'll catch up later with you all.
Going over to LCF to scope things out a bit.

Good Morning from me too! Too early to be at work, since I feel like I just left here! Should've grabbed my jammies and slept in the car! LOL

Seabreeze - So glad you made it here, we are relaxed and happy and enjoying the friendship without the drama! I will post Diane's response about the black soybeans and pumpkin as soon as I hear from her, sometimes not until Monday, depending on when she reads my late night response. and I think a separate recipe thread is probably quite doable...we'll ask Bev!

Bev - any hope of getting you to put up a recipe thread for us? Like you havent done enough already!:worship:

Kathy - Good morning...the Nyquil has sugar, so maybe the shakiness is from that too...please be gentle with yourself through all this and dont forget to eat and drink your water or when Tutu gets here she will be zapping away!

Thank you Robin. Yesterday I was craving water like crazy. By the time I went to bed, I was drowning. My body was telling me I needed it for some reason, so I drank lots of it. I didn't think about the sugar in the nyquil. I took some dayquil yesterday too. I do the liquid caps. Can't hack the other kind
On a side note, I have to tell you all about my dream. The only part I remember is I drank a huge glass of regular ginger ale. It seemed so real, and I woke up thinking I had done it. I was so upset with myself. Then realized we don't have any in the house, so I knew I didn't do it. It was like I slept (is that a word?) walked and did it.
But realized I didn't, so I'm good to go again.
Have a good day at work today. Is it another 12 hour day? That is such a long day.
But kudos to you for going to the gym after work. Takes determination for sure at that hour.

Oh my ladies. Were you ever busy rejoicing over here yesterday. Busy, busy, busy posting! I am in a class all day today and tomorrow so I won't be here much. I have my foods all packed. I am going to try to read and catch up. I did see that Seabreezes is here! Yahoo. And, Lisa, you had date night last night?

I love you too, Robin! It was so much fun to hear your voice! Someday we all have to meet in person. Seabreezes and I are going to meet in February in the Gold Country. Hey, Kate, you should come over there too! She's going to be in San Andreas and we talked about going to Murphy's.

What? A meet-up? Pick a date and location and I am there! That would be so much fun! OMG. I can't wait, I can't wait!

The people I clean for, their son does alto sax, baratone, drums, guitars. When he's home while I'm at work, I do wear ear plugs!! But he's a really good kid. Spoiled by rich parents, but a good kid. Just wish the drums weren't so loud LOL.
I do love to hear sax. I love to listen to Kenny G play. I have a cd of his that is all Christmas music. It is so relaxing.

I love Kenny G! We saw him perform last year and it was such a nice show! He was so personable and put on an amazing show!

Morning Y'all,

I am so glad Bev set up this site for all of us and the others that took the time to find "us". I had shared with Robin on FB that I didn't post much due to the "drama" so to speak. I have enough at the moment.

Kathy, good luck with the visit concerning rehab. I hope he has reached his bottom and truly is ready for a change.

Nell, good for you and your"gut" feeling. Here in Texas we can carry a gun with a concealed lic. I am an old Toughie , but in these days you cannot be too careful!!

Robin, you are doing well about hitting the gym especially after working 12 hours. Looks like the north and east are having early winters.

Lisa, glad you are here to cheer us on. I wondered if you were any where close to all the rain and mudslides that were being prepared for.

I am still going to the ranch everyday to spend time with my Dad. He is grieving/drinking his life to a quick grave. Mother has been gone since the end of July and he won't be here much longer. Some days he will eat and others he will not. He has pretty much made himself bedridden except for a few things. I am amazed during all this I have been able to stay on MM step 1 with very few cheats. That itself is a miracle. Diane wanted me to stay on step one until things settle down............I am like so many mentioned I wonder if I am eating too much fat in nuts, cheese and some meats. I know I need more veggies and will continue to work on that. I am grateful not to be stuffing the carbs down all day long to cope. Needless to say that doesn't make things any better, just makes me fatter and sicker.

It is going to be a nice 70 here in Texas today and I am very grateful for that.

Check in later. If I have forgotten anyone please forgive me.

Gena

Good to see you Gena. I hope today brings some joy to you. I feel so bad for your dad. My dad used to drink a lot when we were teenagers. Pretty much an alcoholic. He doesn't drink too much now thank God. But if anything happened to mom, I don't know what he'd do. I know he'd pretty much drink himself to death. It is so sad. I will pray for your dad and your family. Is there anything that may interest him? I really hope he finds his way back.
This board is so nice. You'll love it here. I know you've probably seen all the smilies!! This is home and where we all belong.
Please try to take care of yourself. You can't afford to get sick right now.

Has anyone thought about green bean casserole? I may try to find a low carb version of it.
Also, if we can't have pumpkin, we could always try to find pumpkin flavoring and make a low carb pumpkin cheesecake with the flavoring. I really hope we can have a bit of pumpkin though.
I make a mean pumpkin roll, but I know the filling will definately be a no-no. I will surf the web and see what I can come up with. I will try it with perhaps coconut flour, if I can find it. Will it give off a coconut flavor if I use it? I love my pumpkin roll this time of year, so would be so happy to find my low carb version.

I love Kenny G! We saw him perform last year and it was such a nice show! He was so personable and put on an amazing show!

That would be so nice to go to. Last year Mike took my mom and I to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra for our birthdays. It was sooo amazing. I'd love to go again this year, but I doubt Mike would want to. And I don't like driving into Pittsburgh too much. But I do have their cd's. Really gets me in the Christmas mood :goodvibes

Gena

Hi Gena. Good for you sticking to healthy MM eating while under such stress. I'm one of those that used carbs to dull all my emotions. Hope to hear more from you.

:flower3:

Ok guys, need help planning my Sunday. We will be going to visit Mike's son at rehab. This is the dreaded "family" meeting I'm dreading. But I need help figuring out what to pack for my trip.
It will be a 2 hour trip one way. And probably an hour visit. We will be leaving the house around 10:30 or 11 as the meeting is at 1:30. Figure an hour for the meeting, then home.
I will eat breakfast around 8 or 8:30 with a 5x5 probably. Will a mozzy stick and some cashews work for me about 1/2 hour before the meeting? I will pack a few extra in case I'm more hungry than I plan. I know we will stop to eat somewhere, so I will probably just eat a chicken salad or something to that effect.
Does this sound like a game plan?
Also, can we have agave nectar? I picked some up for baking. I heard it cooks better than splenda/stevia, etc.

kathy--sounds like it'll work out fine. The agave nectar is yummy but we can't have it on step 1. I wish we could, I used it all the time before. :sad1:

Natalie - how will you use this one? :3dglasses Unless you want to talk about the new 3D movies out for the kids.

:laundy: This one is easy in my life.

 I don't want to see this one from anyone.

:firefight This one is not good unless someone is employed by the Fire Dept.

:love1: This is us with Tom

:cake: This one is not allowed.

Any others you want to use?

HAHA!
:wizard: this one to take the weight off over night

:yay: this one when I've exercised

:upsidedow this one is how I feel most of the time!
