Geriatric MM Warriors!

OMG! I need you to teach that trick to Halle! I really dread the rainy season because of her muddy paws! That is too cute, Lisa!

Yeah, when they learn it really well, they go back outside just to repeat the process for another treat!:rotfl: The really funny thing is if you walk away from Bonnie after cleaning her feet and don't go straight to the treat jar, she stays as still as a dead dog flat on the ground until you notice you forgot her.

I had a border collie mix when I was in my 20's. It's the dog I will never forget, I guess my first "puppy love." One morning I let her out in the back to do her business, it's must have been five am. She was always very good and didn't roam the neighborhood. We'll, the most unbelieveable ruckus let out in the back, I ran as quick as I could. I had no idea what was going on, but I was scared because she was in the back. I thought something might be killing her. Well, she had gathered a herd of wild turkeys from the nearby woods and was keeping them herded in a circle in the back yard. That was the noise. I didn't know anything about turkey's as I had grown up in a city. That morning I found out one important thing. They are loud! :lmao::lmao:

That is hysterical!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Nell: We do have year round vernal ponds behind the house and the ducks live there but every year a few of them think our pool water looks better. It's a real issue when the momma duck brings her babies and they can't jump back out over the moss rocks. I have to make a bridge for them with my air mattress and keep Bonnie indoors. It's an ordeal! And all of the birds in the neighborhood come over to carry on about it from the treetops. It reminds me of a Disney movie.

It sounds like a Disney movie. Can't you just hear the birds talking to each other about the ducks in the pool and the lady with the air mattresses and the dog that likes to chase them! I am sure the birds are passing on messages to the ducks about when it is safe to poop in the pool!

Well, I just got back from Outback Steakhouse (we finally used the gift card). I had an awesome chicken Caesar salad and shrimp rolled in coconut flakes and cooked. I'm worried now that the coconut might have been the kind dried with sugar, but I don't feel like I've had any carbs so I think I'm ok.

Then I went to Wal-Mart and went shopping. I got everything I needed except the dirt to start my tire garden. :sad2: Oh well. I can start it next week. I have 16 cents left in the bank account, but I do have 16 cents! Wouldn't that make me wealthy in a lot of countries? My boss brought me envelopes to stuff for this weekend. I don't know if he means to pay me this weekend, or next week. Either way, I should be able to get my dirt then. I bought a ton of frozen veggies, so I can make plenty of broccoli soup. Oh, the reason I only get 40 dollars a week is because we had spread out first, last and security when we moved in and was paying extra rent. We got to the point where it was too much every month. Every week he actually pays me 80 dollars, but half goes toward the debt. So eventually, that will be paid off.

I just saw the cutest little tree in Wal-Mart. It's pre lit and about five feet tall, maybe 5.5 It's only $35.00 That is even in my budget! I'm excited because I'm decorating early because my parents are coming for Thanksgiving. Did I mention I'm a bit of a Christmas nut? :santa: I think I was one of Santa's elves in a past life. :rotfl:

Seabreezes, I did sleep really late today. Thankfully I won't need to stay up working again for at least a couple of days. And envelop stuffing can actually be done while watching TV. I'm glad I don't have to think for this project!

You'll have to videotape it next spring. We had a momma with her eggs/chicks nest in our front yard a couple of years ago. Now with the advent of our local flock of turkey vultures, the ducks have to be much more careful. We also have a mating pair of bald eagles on the island close to us. They are beautiful to see.

The bald eagles must be amazing to see....

Good evening everyone!! I see all is well in the land of Disney LOL.
Not a lot going on here. Eating my supper while I read/write. Having my eggplant parm again tonight. But I did put burger in it this time. I never thought I'd see the day I'd eat eggplant!! It's true, no taste to it. The texture reminds me of mushrooms though. Never cared for those, but starting to eat them .
slowly.
Robin, your wedding soup sounds so good! Does it taste somewhat like vege soup? I love that. We have gone to the Olive Garden and I had Pasta e Fagioli. It was sooo good. I did get the recipe online and made it at home. Can't wait till I can have it again.
Cindy, my oldest daughter had the lasik done. She loves it. She works for an eye doctor that does it, and it was 1/2 price for her. I'm pretty much near sighted. I do have bifocals, but my close vision isn't that bad. I would love to have it done too. Some day.
Thanks for the prayers again everyone. Still no word. Praying it's no news is good news.
Going on a "shopping" trip tomorrow. Tyson needs a new coat for winter. With short hair, he can't take the coldness. Thankfully they aren't that expensive. We use it mostly for our walks. When he goes potty, he can stay out for about 15 minutes before he starts to shiver. But our walks can be an hour or more. Tutu, ya hear that? EXERCISE!!!
Well, going to finish my supper. Catch you all in a bit :)

I was taking a break and watching taped Oprah from yesterday. First of all, amazing jeans for curvy women. Vegan chef who wrote the Conscious Chef showed how to make a creamy soup from celery root and the 'cream' is made from raw, soaked cashews blended with filtered water. It was a thick cream! He said the raw cashews don't have much flavor on their own and make a fantastic cholesterol free cream. These recipes are on Oprah.com. I can't wait because I love creamed veg soup. You cook it in a pan and then blend it in the blender. Yummo! Oh, and Kate, he made a dish that tasted like chicken and mushrooms that was vegan! Your girls would be so impressed if you learned this before the next family gathering!

I can't wait to check out the recipes! Thank you, Lisa....

Kathy, check Dr Foster and Smith online clearance. I've gotten dog coats a few times for under ten dollars there. Most are for little dogs, but we have gotten the big ones there also.

I actually get emails from them and about 4 other dog websites. Not really anything on sale that I would be able to use. The one we got him last year was only $14.99. It had insulation and a hat and it buttoned under his belly. So we will probably go back to that store and see what they have. It was a dinky little store, but the prices were great. Even on the food they had.

I wanted to thank who it was that told us to try Walmart for tires. I think it's Barb? I couldn't see the post again. Anyway, that's where Tom is now so I hope it doesn't take too long. There was a huge screw in my tire! We needed new ones anyway before long, so it was the wake up call to get it done. I drive above the snowline sometimes in the winter. I'd much rather buy shoes!

Hi Sherry, good to see you!

Smilies are our new passion.

Nell - sounds like a good dinner. We did our normal Friday night dinner at the Club. We normally just eat in the bar.

It seems like a fairly quiet night here. I am assuming everyone else has a life and isn't sitting at home on the couch on the computer like I am. There doesn't appear to be a couch potato smiley available. I would be in my jammies if I didn't have to get set DS15 after the football game. I know he would be mortified if I showed up in my jammies.

DD10 has control of the remote (what's new), so I have no idea what's on TV.

I'm going to go play around on FB, and I'll check in later.
