Worst Magicband Ever

I couldn’t even bring myself to use this one when we went in 2021. What happened to all the DVC points? I would guess a lot were just lost.

We had an Aulani reservation for June of 2020 that obviously didn't happen. My daughter ended up using some points at SSR in Feb of 2021. I wasn't comfortable traveling so we booked a couple of studios at Aulani for President's weekend and rented them. As a result of that, we ended up just losing 16 points. Not bad considering everything.

DVC helped people out, including giving owners some of their own points to replace banked points that expired during the closure.

They also put borrowed points back for owners. I am sure there were a lot of points though that owners didn’t use.

The worst for us was that we had a February 2020 week-long reservation booked for our second DVC trip. At almost the last minute, we modified to May 2020 because I was hoping it was going to be less busy at the parks in May.

Well....it sure was less busy in May 2020...

They also allowed longer banking for international owners who couldn't travel to the US for a long time.
While I criticise DVC Management a lot (with good reasons, I think) I want to say they did a few right things post-pandemic, which they weren't required by law.

We had a February reservation that year. We had a good time. A month after we returned, the country shut down. I let our AP's expire because we could tell that this wasn't going to drag on. When Disney announced that one could renew their pass if it expired during the period when they were closed (months and months after that period), I missed the window for that promotion by 3 days.
