Genie plus and the possibility of not getting reservations

Okay, I want to throw this out there. After literally trying to book Space 220, 60 days out as soon as they opened the day , at 6 am on the button, the entire restaurant and lounge was totally booked. What is the likelihood of trying to book genie plus reservations and individual lightning lanes even at 7am and not being successful? I’m really staring to stress! What has Disney become?!

I think Space 220 may be one of the hardest reservations to get. I didn’t see them at 60+3.

That being said, I think it’s a lot easier getting genie plus reservations and individual lightning lanes. Like above, looking at thrill-data.com gives you a good idea of how likely to get something at the time you try for. It’ll ebb and flow for busyness, so looking for this week which might be less busy may not be as helpful if you’re going around spring break.

It’d also help to get a good sense of how to maximize and have rightful expectations for Genie Plus. I feel pretty confident I can get my two top rides (Remy’s and Frozen) plus a ton others for Epcot this week as long as I am timing my 2 hr mark after the park opens. But somebody might not strategize correctly and feel like there were no LL available for what they want.

If you were booking at 60 days on the dot, does that mean you aren’t staying on property? If that’s the case, you can’t book your ILLs until the park opens. I think you should still be able to get them, but there is more of a chance they will be late or sold out. Again, thrill-data should give you a good idea of your likelihood.

Do you mean you tried at 60+10 when it opened to Disney resort guests or you tried at 60? Space 220 is basically impossible at 60. Even 60+5 is hard. Welcome to the hardest ADR in WDW.

PP covered ILL/G+ so you know what to book first in what parks.

I tried at 60 I am staying on property but I was not made aware of advance reservations +10. How do I get that?

If staying on property, you get to book dining reservations for at least 10 days of your stay starting at 60 days from the beginning of your stay. Unless you have a long trip, you should be able to book dining for your entire trip at once.

In relation to the original question, the lightening lanes for popular attractions routinely sell out every day.

So, for example, you may book a lightening lane right at 7am for Slinky Dog, and get a return time of 5pm. Wait much after 7am, and it will be sold out completely for that day.

I wonder if there are cases where people can’t even get reservations for lightning lanes/genie+ reservations even on the dot of 7 AM?

Please see the responses people have given as they are accurate. You will always get something at 7AM but possibly not for what you want if it’s an extremely busy day. There are very few though that sell out at 7AM. Slinky is one of those.
