Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

IMG_1716.jpg

This is way too cute!!! And how wonderful that Brooklynn is such a great big sister! They both seem like awesome kids :goodvibes

I know I rhapsodize about Epcot pretty much always, but oh how I love it there! Especially that front area with the fountain and the little canopy. I agree, if they took that down, it would totally change the mood of the whole area.

I love seeing all the pictures of the topiaries. They had a few when we were there at Christmas but the Flower and Garden Festival must be awesome.

How cool you got to see the first day of the F&G festival! The flowers are so pretty!! B&B are so cute. Can't wait to hear about your next adventure. And am so impressed at how your TRs last just the perfect length til your next trip!!

That's great that you got to catch the F&GF before you left. You guys timed that just right. That is something that I really want to see someday. I think the topiaries are really works of art!

The girls are so cute with the characters! Maybe Bella will really come around on this next trip. We have seen her make progress more and more each time you go. And that is great that Brooklyn isn't jealous. I think most older siblings have to deal with the "baby gets extra attention" thing. That's good that she doesn't seem to mind!

The days keeping falling away and your trip will be here before you know it!!! I can't wait for the FB updates and vids!!!!! Sending tons of pixie dust for a very magical trip!!!

I already miss Disney and of course my most wonderful traveling companions!

Loved the last morning pictures!! I have to agree with another poster who said your timing between trips and trip reports is AMAZING!! I must learn from you LOL!!!!!

Your girls are so cute!!! Can't wait to see them on your next adventure!

What a big step for Bella! I think she'll approach them this trip :) And if not Brooklyn can hold her hand and that might work :) Love all of the flower and garden pics! I was there last year in April and was intriqued by all of the topiary's! I also love that fountain area, it's so peaceful! It would be a shame if they took down the shade things.

I loved all the flowers at EPCOT. It is one of my favorite times to visit. The topiaries just add more magic to walking around.

It is one of my favorite times, too. I love seeing sunshine, palm trees, and pretty flowers after three or four months of gray and cold.

I'm still laughing at the pictures of Bella and the characters. I really hope this trip she finally make the connection. Danielle was 3 the first time we took her to Disney. For the first day she would have nothing to do with characters. On the second day we had breakfast at Chef Mickeys. In all the pictures she is trying to move away. Finally Chip made a connections with her. She shared her sprinkles from her breakfast ice cream. After that she slowly warmed up to the characters and was a pro by the end of the trip. Chip and Dale are still her favorites.

Brooklyn is very patient to wait for her turn for attention. My girls would have been jealous.

She has looked at the pictures, and Jill told her this time she can walk up to Mickey and Minnie by herself with 'Issy'. We will see if she finally understands that there is nothing to fear.

Look at all those pretty flowers! That would be a lovely time to visit Epcot for sure. I have to giggle at little Bella. I love her crouch down pose. That's adorable!

I wish we had had more time, but that was UnMagical Express day. We won't be going to F&G this spring, but maybe we can plan our dates better for 2013 so that we can have more than half a day to see it all.

Love the flowers pictures! Wish they would stay up so we could see them....oh well....I'll just have to talk Ben into a spring break trip sometime...

Bella's reaction to the characters reminds me of how Owen was on the last trip. He wanted nothing to do with them and I would pick him up to try to get in the picture and he would scream to high heaven when I would start walking toward the character. I'm HOPING that he will like them better this time! Crossing fingers!

You would love a spring break trip! It brings me back to life when we hit MCO in the spring and everything is green!

I hope Owen enjoys the characters - or at least that he will allow for some non-screaming pictures.

Look at the little girl waiting in line for her turn, she's looking at Bella like she just can't quite figure out what the big deal is - it's just Mickey, nothing to be afraid of

She is probably thinking Bella is a little nutty. She would be correct. :thumbsup2

I love the Flower & Garden Festival!! I think it keeps me going through the long, cold winters. When we planned our November trip, Tim asked if we were still going in April... Silly man... of course we are! I need my spring F&G fix!

We're not going in the spring, so we'll count on your for some great pictures. I think I'm okay with it right now, because I know Jill can't go, but I'll be chomping at the bit in about February, I'm sure.

LOL love that pic of Bella retreating. Poor baby. Brooklyn is such a good sister.

Thanks moms for the potty training advice. We will keep at it. I keep telling y DH that he wont be a thirty year old in Huggies. :0)

Two weeks!!! Wish it was for us too!

Hang in there. He will get it soon. :goodvibes

Awwww, F&G is so pretty and I know what you mean about that long cold winter...
I'll be missing those flowers next year.

I wonder if Bella is scootching down in an attempt to hide...
Or maybe so she can spring up and run for her life!!!

Our dreams were a hoot! They were all just perfect!

Your winters are probably worse than ours, too. We will be crying in the spring, won't we?

How wonderful of Brooklynn to be so patient with Bella. I love that she was smitten with Baylor! (look out Jill).

Jill certainly gets a work out at the character spots; Bella looks quite slippery!

Great character pictures!

Jill wishes Bella would get in the pictures so she wouldn't have to join in every time, but so far, that's been a no go. Maybe this time.

I love the F&GF pictures. We got to see it in April '08 & it was beautiful! When we were there last February, we saw the very beginning of some of the topiaries.

Bella is so funny with the characters. I LOVE the way she's crouching down, far away, to watch them!

The colors are so pretty. I want a Disney topiary in my yard, too. :thumbsup2

Fantastic Character Spot photos! We went there for the first time in December. I love the backgrounds!

F&G is so pretty. We will be on a cruise next spring break but I am hoping the next year I can talk John into a trip. He claims we are going back to once a year only... We shall see about that!

I survived to the last day of school! Now I have two workdays next week. My room is just about cleaned/packed and I have a little bit of paperwork to do. Then all my dreams will be Disney ones!

Once a year?
Nooooo! :scared1:

I have very much enjoyed being away from school. Enjoy your break for everything it is worth!

That is just too precious! And that is great that Brooklynn is so patient and doesn't get jealous with the characters - she's so mature!

She's a good big sister. Bella will follow her lead soon, I'm sure, and go and see the characters.

Bella's reactions and poses by the characters are priceless!!! We aren't too sure how Abby will react to the characters but we are hoping Solomon will love them!!!
We should be at POP by 11 or 11:30 at the latest. Then we plan on hanging out for a while waiting for the rest of our family to arrive which will hopefully be about 2ish. Just let me know whenever about meeting up!!

Those girls are just too precious and adorable to believe! I can't get over how sweet they are! You are such a lucky family!

And what a lovely morning at Epcot! A stop with Daisy and beautiful flowers is always a good way to start a day!

Poor Bellarie and her character reactions! I'm sure she'll warm up to them eventually. Especially after she checks out how much fun her big sister has with them! It's wonderful to hear about Brooklyn being such a good sister. She sounds so patient and loving! What a good girl she is....I sometimes worry how my neices will be together when they get a bit older but that makes me smile! At least she waved to Donald! That's a good place to start!

I'm glad to hear Bella wasn't doing the "potty squat" and was just lookin' cute!

I am blessed beyond what I could ever deserve to have my family. :lovestruc

Jill said she thinks she did a Facebook picture of the girls with Daisy.

Brooklynn and Bella can aggravate each other when they want to, but for the most part, from what I see when I am around, they do very well together.

Those flowers are so pretty! I must get down there sometime and check it out. I so desperately want to!

Bella is so adorable! Love those expressions with the characters. And what a great big sister Brooklyn is being so patient with her. Just wait until Bella warms up to them. Boy, she will have so much fun!

It is getting so close!

You need to get down there to see the pretty flowers. Give yourself more than one day in Epcot to be able to see it all.

I got all of my odds and ends together this morning. I put my sunscreen, bandaids/moleskin, Advil, etc. in small bags and then into a bigger bag and then into the suitcase. It's a start. :thumbsup2

All caught up again. Another rough week for me but the good news is that it is over.

Watching Bella with the characters and finding her own way to get to know them is precious.

Brooklyn is a great big sister and so patient too.

Enjoy your weekend! :goodvibes

Brooklynn never balked at seeing characters. She was a little shy with some, but she still had her picture made. She'll guide Bella into doing it soon.

Brooklynn is such a great big sister. I can't believe she would just wait patiently for the characters to give her their attention.

I love the pictures of Bella trying to retreat. It looks like Jill was having a hard time holding her. Kids are so much stronger than they look when they are trying to wiggle away from you.

Jill gets a workout in Character Spot, indeed.

Brooklynn is a sweetheart when we do the character pictures. :cutie: She knows exactly what to do, and she does it perfectly.

Those girls are freaking ADORABLE!!!!

When my DD8 was almost 1, we made our first family trip to WDW and she cried every time she saw a character. She was okay with the face characters, but even Mickey freaked her out. I've got some great pictures from Chef Mickey's - those poor characters tried so hard, but she was in tears! She got over it fairly soon after. We went back a couple years later and she was fine.

We'll see what happens in two weeks. We have two character meals now, so it would be nice to have her smiling and happy in some of those pictures.

I feel like we accomplished a big step with Bella waving to Donald! Not to mention, it makes a very cute picture!!!

I was glad to get proof of at least some interaction. :)

Thanks. We think they are pretty awesome girls. :)

I read somewhere just within the past few weeks about pulling that awning down. We'll just have to wait and see if it is true.

I love seeing all the pictures of the topiaries. They had a few when we were there at Christmas but the Flower and Garden Festival must be awesome.

Could be a good time for another 'Ma and Me' trip for you guys.

I mean, a good time for your first alone trip.

Yeah, that's it - a first.... :upsidedow

How cool you got to see the first day of the F&G festival! The flowers are so pretty!! B&B are so cute. Can't wait to hear about your next adventure. And am so impressed at how your TRs last just the perfect length til your next trip!!

I have about ten pages of picture to get through in the next two weeks.

In DIStown, we'll have plenty of Disney topiaries in the yards. We're going to need an excellent Disney gardener. :thumbsup2

As the trip grows closer and we show her more pictures and youtube videos, she is understanding the whole concept more. She may do very well!

Sounds like a great trip!

That it was. :)
Glad you are enjoying reading about it.

I know Jill's days are flying by with all of her work and Brooklynn's activities. I have a workshop Monday and something to do on Wednesday, then it's back to AL Saturday for Brook's dance recital. At least I will have plenty of time in my week for relaxing, too.

Your traveling companions are already hard at work planning for future events.

What a big step for Bella! I think she'll approach them this trip And if not Brooklyn can hold her hand and that might work. Love all of the flower and garden pics! I was there last year in April and was intriqued by all of the topiary's! I also love that fountain area, it's so peaceful! It would be a shame if they took down the shade things.

Maybe Bella will cooperate with the handholding deal again this time.

I'd like it if there were more shaded areas around there and tables to sit at just to enjoy the fountain.

Bella's reactions and poses by the characters are priceless!!! We aren't too sure how Abby will react to the characters but we are hoping Solomon will love them!!!

Can we text back and forth as it gets closer? I can PM you my number. Jill is making out the schedule, so I'll see what she's got down for the 6th.

Maybe we could hook up at the kiddie pool.

Awwww...Bella is adorable! She is making great progress to wave at Donald! :goodvibes

Brooklynn is such an awesome and sweet big sister to Bella, very cute to see! :)

Love the pics of the F&G Festival! It looks so beautiful!

It's a little bit more excitting to see them because we have a trip planned for that time next year!
Our first time to see those topiaries....can't wait...:flower3:

We went to the States last night and I picked up the....

3674.jpg

Can't wait to try the cake...it sounds delicious!!!

And I picked this one up too....;)

about_image.jpg

Funny story about buying it last night...I told my DMom that I needed to find the cocktail mix section in the store.
She was very curious as to why because we don't drink.
I replied that "I'm so stressed I need to take up drinking"...she said I need to go buy a purse instead...:rotfl:
Once I explained it was for making Memom's cake she just smiled and said....of course...now that makes sense...:rotfl:

I kinda felt like Ms. Wig'd my trunk was full coming home.
We picked up a new 12 ft. pool for Lexi, groceries, some clothes, and lots of other stuff.
Got the new Cars 2 Cd, cereal, cheese itz and fruit packs. Only Disney purchases of the night. ;)
Found some Barbie furniture we will use in our remodeling of the Hannah Montana doll house into a Monster High House. (summer / end of school year project)
We found some cool fabric at JoAnn's too.

Gotta go...have to get the rest of the groceries done before work tonight.

Have a glorious weekend...only 1 more til you leave!!!! :woohoo:

Bella so reminds me of Devon...no way would she get near the characters, even with her sisters there or me.:sad2:
That's why I cried and tried to explain to Piglet how important it was that Devon actually wanted to stand up in a picture for the very first time....that was Nov 2009 and she was 6! OH look I found it in my trip report: Piglet Meet

OK so about the coupon holder. I am writing a tutorial and thought about making a few to sell. I gotta get on that this week. I will contact Jill to see what she wants in terms of Disney fabric. :thumbsup2

Hi! Sorry I haven't been back to check in since graduation! I was so overwhelmed by everything that day and I've been recovering all week :upsidedow Yes I am now a high school graduate :cool1: The ceremony was really nice and the cookout was a ton of fun. I was so excited to see Caleb! He and Kazin were the life of the party  I can't believe how big Kazin's vocabulary is. He talks all the time and a lot of it actually makes sense now :rotfl: Caleb is much more quiet but he gets louder when he's playing with Kazin. I get to see them today too. We're having another cookout. This time it's at my uncle's house. It's for Jeremy's birthday(tomorrow), my grandma's birthday(monday), and father's day. I might be going over to Jeremy and Leslie's new place tonight after the cookout to watch Caleb so they can go to a movie. I think they're gonna like having a babysitter 2 miles away  I've never watched Caleb alone before and he doesn't know me as well as Kazin does, but I'm not worried about it. He'll be in bed by then anyway...hopefully

That's the Donald I have!

Brooklynn was still not fully awake, as you can see. ;)
Bella pops up with a smile, and Brooklynn thinks about waking up for an hour or so and smiles a bit later. They have very different styles of 'morningness'.

I'm definitely more like Brooklynn. I'm not a morning person at all. If I wake up on my own I'm fine, but when I wake up with the alarm or if someone wakes me up, I'm grumpy

No "special" glasses back then! & I'm not sure if I mentioned, but the glasses were lost or broken or both when he was off-roading with his Jeep friends a while ago. :( I think he had to check something under his Jeep & was on his back on the ground, & the glasses fell out of his pocket. I can't remember exactly why he had them with him to go off-roading. I think he wanted to show them off.

:scared1: Nooooo!

Look at the little girl waiting in line for her turn, she's looking at Bella like she just can't quite figure out what the big deal is - it's just Mickey, nothing to be afraid of

 I saw her back there too!!
Ohh Bella!! I love her little retreat squirm to get away :goodvibes

Too funny about the Miss Anita dream sequence!!! :rotfl2: I was laughing right out loud!!!

Tracy

She's a good big sister. Bella will follow her lead soon, I'm sure, and go and see the characters.

Bella does better than I ever did with characters when I was her age! When I was a baby I went to a Philadelphia Philly's game and their mascot, the Phanatic, came right up to my face. :scared1: I'm not sure if you know what he looks like, but he is big and green and has a huuuuuge beak that sticks out. It was a traumatizing moment, let me tell you that! :lmao: In fact I didn't start easing up to characters until my first WDW trip when I was 9. :rolleyes1

Hello everyone! I am finally back. The beach was great, but I spent the majority of the time being lifeguard, referee, housecleaner, and cook. Between my little ones, my 5 yo nephew and my 4 other teenage nephews, it was a mad house. We had a great time though. I really enjoyed spending time with my parents.
2 weeks!! So exciting! Can't wait to get updates. We are at 31 days until Hawaii. I am getting so anxious for it to be here, but I will be missing my boys. We will be away from them 10 nights including travel. When I get back I will only have around 50 days till Disney!!
Love the pics and chatter over the last 2 weeks. It took me an hour just to catch up!

You would love a spring break trip! It brings me back to life when we hit MCO in the spring and everything is green!

I bet! It seems like winter goes on forever! The flowers always perk me up!

I hope Owen enjoys the characters - or at least that he will allow for some non-screaming pictures.

After today, I'll be happy with not screaming and looking in the general direction of the camera. We went to A Day Out with Thomas and I thought he would like Sir Toppem Hat. Nope..kept his head buried in Ben's shoulder the whole time!
