Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

I think a DIStown cookbook is a good idea.:thumbsup2

This summer I'm taking Nutrition and Health for young Children and Creative Activities for young children. Oh and I don't remember if I told you but I will be finishing this degree in January.

cracking up at their dreams :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

aww Brooklynn:lovestruc, that is so cute.

Lol, Bella is really trying to get away from Mickey. Tell her not to worry though, her friend ChiChi/Cheena use to be scared of the characters too.
I love all the pictures of Bella's "interaction" with the characters and high 5 for Brooklynn being a patient big sister.

Congrats Tink9721 on being a high school graduate.

seeing the birds outside Nemo i can't help but say "mine, mine, mine"

I love Turtle Talk! I hope my niece and nephew are brave enough to sit up front when we go.

Even though it is basically the same every time, it's still cute. Hearing the kids giggle and the parents outright laugh when Crush tells them to say 'Duuude' for the rest of the day makes me smile.

Just dropping in to share my disappointment in a classmate. This classmate response to Were you surprised by the children's responses? "Not at all I work with children all the time and nothing amaze me anymore."

I was shocked to read that. I can't imagine how a teacher could work with children everyday and not be amazed by anything they do. I'm not a teacher yet but being around my DBF's nephews and nieces, and seeing Brooklynn and Bella grow and discover new things as well as all young children - how could I not be amazed? I wanted to share this disappointment with my teacher friends (and others who are parents) because I really don't understand it.

I'll be back later tonight after I finish my discussion assignments

Children are amazing every day. I am glad you are able to stop and see the creativity and wonder in the little things that children do.

I hope you got to have some fun time on Sunday among your study time.

That picture of Bella & the seahorse is SO cute!

Your pictures remind me so much of the aquarium in Boston...only better.

She'll hug the characters that don't move. Maybe we should just tell the real characters to pretend they are statues. ;)

The Bella & seahorse picture is the BEST!! How cute is she?!?!

She's a sweetie. :cutie:

I guess you'll see what she looks like all covered up in a lei in a couple of weeks.

bella and the seahorse it way too cute! Caleb crashed on Nemo...must have found it either too boring or way too soothing. I am guessing the second one! LOL! I was really upset too because I had wanted to see Crush but they wouldn;t let us in with the stroller. Luckily we got to see it later in the week!

Yeah, our girls have had some naps on Nemo, too. The dark, the cool, and the quiet can do that pretty easily.

Owen LOVED it! And Hannah enjoyed it too. The Thomas ride was about 30 minutes plus they have lots of activities set up for the kids to do. Owen will turn 3 next month. We went last year as well. He loves (maybe obsessed is a better word?) Thomas, so he was a happy kid. I'll see if I can upload a couple of pictures. Wow, I didn't know Polar Express was that long...we were thinking about doing that in December, but if it is that long, we might wait a couple of years.

Edited to add pictures:

Thanks for sharing your fun day. We love to see our DIS kids in action! I think the Thomas activity has the right idea - short and sweet: enough time to have fun, but not too long to make for bored or cranky kids.

Bella is so cute hugging the seahorse goodbye! I love the Seas...such a fun place! Great picture of the girls with (in?) Bruce. I'm hoping to get a good shot of the kids to put in our Nemo bathroom (it's the kids bathroom).

I keep thinking I want to use a Nemo theme for my outside bulletin board and a little bit in my room this year.

Can't wait to see Seth on the Nemo ride. It's probably going to be one of the first stops we make on Saturday at EPCOT. Such a cute ride for the little ones! I don't know if we'll do Turtle Talk or not - depends on how the line is. He is too young to really understand the concept, but we will see. I'll definitely let him look at all the fish and other sea life, though! There's so many things in this trip I'm looking forward to b/c I'll be seeing them from a whole new view this time!

Loved the picture of Bella hugging the seahorse.

You'll have to go with the flooooooow on your next few trips, for sure. :goodvibes

We'll have to talk about that DIStown cookbook one of these days when we have time. :thumbsup2 We could all submit 2-3 of our favorite recipes. All we'd need is someone to type them up and put on a spiral. They'd be booklets more than books, but it would still be something that could sort of bring us all together in a fun way.

Bella is at the seagull stage right now. She says, 'Mine, mine, mine!' a lot.

Those sound like fun classes. Good luck with your studies

********************************************

I'll be thinking Disney thoughts from a workshop all day today. They don't like us to forget that we are teachers during the summer break, too. Luckily, we just have to do a few. In the past few days, I have also learned that the Director of Schools wants to start on July 25th next year. That means teachers would be back the week before that. Not real thrilled with that, but we're planning our Disney trip for June, just in case that does go through.

I did do a little trip shopping yesterday, so I have added a pack of socks, some snacks, and some odds & ends to my rolled up t-shirts in the suitcase now. :upsidedow

Have a Magnificent Monday, DIS friends!

Starting back 7/25 seems awfully early! :scared1:

Bella and the seahorse - :cutie::goodvibes I really need to spend more time exploring that pavilion.

Hope you have a great week!!

thanks! Caleb is obsessed with Thomas and choo choos in general! His papa (DH dad) has a train collection of very nice trains that he lets Caleb play with! And his Nana (DH mom) keeps him everyday...so those choo choos get played with every day! :scared1: Of course the real nice onces DFIL keeps up but still! They are way too nice to play with! My mom once told Caleb he has choo choo on the brain...so know Caleb says he has "Choo choo bain" for Choo Choo Brain!:rotfl:

Yes for how much The Polar Express is...it is way to long for small children. My nephew was 4 and he did much better than Caleb. Or if it was shorter...then it would be ok! We were pretty disappointed because we knew Caleb would love being on the train but he was just too exhausted! Overall its a neat idea but just too long for small children!

Just keep thinking those Disney thoughts, MeMom, while you are in your workshop. :goodvibes

I thought a lot of Disney thoughts Friday and Saturday while I was out in the heat doing team-building, problem solving activites. The one that was in the forefront of my mind was, "If I can do this, I can do the Wild Africa Trek." :lmao:

Whatever gets us through the rough spots, right? ;)

Love Bella and the seahorse. It reminds me of Blake and his "Blakey bear hugs" that he gives sometimes. I agree with you about the Nemo gift shop. I really could do some damage in there. Everything is so cute! Hope you survive your workshop today. I am at work with an ever growing schedule. The boys have their first swim lesson today. Luckily, Jason is taking them. I am too soft-hearted with them and they are somewhat afraid of water. I know they have to get over it for their own safety. That is why Dad is taking them.

Love all the Nemo pictures. We love that whole area. And I want everything in that store too! :thumbsup2

Bella is too cute hugging that seahorse!

My DD won't ever sit down on the floor at TTwC either. I'm hoping this year that we get a seat down front like you so that she will.

That really stinks that you have to go back so early! Does that mean your school year will end in May? I think if I had my choice, I would want the year round school calendar. They get like 3 weeks off at the time at different points in the year (usually at times that it would be nicer to travel, like in the fall). We don't like to travel in the summer, so for us that would be a much better option.

And I can't believe they always make you do workshops in the summer too. We always did ours on teacher workdays during the regular school year. That really does not seem fair to me. It just isn't really vacation unless you know you are completely DONE for 2 months!

Wow, July 25th :scared1: that's almost a full month before we start back!

Please tell me an early start date of July 25th comes with an early release date like end of April/early May?!?!?!?!?!

Loved the newest update!!!! The pictures once again brought a huge smile to my face and was a great way to get started with my day!!

Wow, July 25th for school. We never go back until the last part of August.

Love the picture of Bella and the seahorse and of the girls with Bruce. Don't you just love Turtle Talk with Crush!

Wow, you are packing!!! I am getting there. I do have a lot of things layed out ready to go.

Ugh, July 25! The school in my city & probably the surrounding ones don't get out till next Monday or Tuesday, I think -- the 27th or 28th. Kailyn was out on May 27th just b/c she was a senior.

I was thinking Disney thoughts when I was talking myself into going to the Bruins victory parade (for winning the Stanley Cup last week) in Boston on Saturday. I don't always handle crowds very well but I kept on telling myself, "if I can handle Disney during a vacation week, or during peak season, I can handle this." It was actually tolerable before and during the parade b/c we were so early we were right up against the barricade, so I didn't have people pressing me from all sides. I also had a funny Disney thought on the way there -- we took the bus to the station nearest our house, and I could not help but notice how narrow/cramped they are compared to Disney buses! I never take the bus so it really struck me for some reason :rotfl:

I love the interactive games that they have in the waiting area for Turtle Talk - helps the kids stay entertained and they learn something at the same time! :thumbsup2

Hope the Disney thoughts get you through your workshop today! July 25th? That's nuts!!

I love your picture of Jill and Bella on the Nemo ride. I can't wait to hear how Bella likes the characters now. She is so funny climbing over Jill to get away. Which character meals do you have planned?

Sending Disney vibes to you while your in the workshop today.:wizard:

Nemo is so cool and refreshing! Right now anything in the ac would be great. It has been way to hot down here.

I'm with everyone else and love the picture of Belle hugging the seahorse.

Don't you love shopping trips that include trip stuff? I've already told Dennis I want a new backpack for Christmas to take to Disney in Feb.

I love the whole vibe of the Nemo area. So much fun! I think July 25th is much too early MeMom. You need more summer to enjoy!

I remember you telling me that there had been a change in your school calendar, but July 25th seems so soon!

I guess if you end up with as many snow days as you've been having that may get you out of school on time!

I love the pics of the girls at Epcot!!!
Wow, July 25th is super early...the schools here in Michigan don't go back until after Labor day! I just hope that means u get out that much earlier in the spring!!!

Sounds like Caleb and Owen would get along well! We corrected if we call a train by the wrong name. I'm amazed at all the things Owen knows about trains.
