Summer Magic is a fun movie, but then I love all the Hayley Mills movies by Disney. With all the talk about Summer Magic, I might need to view the DVD tonight.
I also have on DVD Yours, Mine, and Ours, and Follow me Boys. This maybe the good old days of movies weekend.
Good new my Mama was able to go home from rehab today. The first thing she did was make an appointment to get her hair fixed. Starting Monday she will be going to outpatient rehab 3 days a week.
I know! When I went to
Amazon to order it, I started looking at all of those old movies, and I wanted a bunch of them! Maybe in a few months I can order
Yours, Mine, and Ours. That is an all-time favorite of mine. It is no secret that I wanted a big family, so I loved that movie.
I am glad to hear about your mom. I know your dad is so happy to have her back where she belongs, and it has got to be easier on all of you now. Getting out to get her hair done will feel good for her.
I'm here at work on my dinner break and I wanted to join in on the 3 week dance....!!!!
You must be sooo excitted too!
almost time to get those suitcases out and collecting up your stuff to take with you....
I believe Brooklynn will try it, she is a brave little girl.
Do you ever look at the Orlando Magazine site? I just saw the new Little Mermaid attraction that opened at
Disneyland.
It will be very similar to the one they are building in Fantasyland.

It is possible that Jill and I talk about the trip every day, as if we have not been in a very long time.

It just never gets old for us.
I have seen a little of that. I haven't checked it out lately, though. Since I am out of school and have time, I will do that. Thanks for the information. Brooklynn is going to love this ride!
How is your mom today?
Hey All!!! I'm behind as usual, so I don't know if this has been posted......but I just saw that ticket prices are going up tomorrow, instead of the usual Aug. price increase!!!!!
Actually, I was off a day! They are going up Sun. June 12!! Sorry!
Your information set off a flurry of activity yesterday, which ended up being a good thing, because Jill was able to work out some kinks that would have been hard to work out in three weeks.
I wish they would have waited until the end of the summer to increase prices, but financially, I'm sure it makes more sense to do it now when the crowds are arriving. I don't think it's going to be enough to stop anyone from going on, so they're going to make a good bit more money than they would have if they had waited. With all of the new stuff going on, I'm not too upset about paying a few more dollars, though.
3 weeks! I would be bursting with excitement! I'm already ready to pack and I still have over 3 months to wait! You guys are so lucky!
last night I watched Summer Magic and Pollyanna....I think tonight it will be the Parent Trap! I love Ms. Mills Follow Me Boys was one my mum enjoyed watching...she always had a keen eye for Kurt Russell! I might have to watch Swiss Family Robinson this weekend too - for some reason that movie and Pollyanna go together in my brain....
I like all the Hayley Mills movies, too. I hope there is not a book out there somewhere where she tells about what a miserable life she led as she did them. That always takes the enjoyment out of things past for me. Like some TV show I enjoyed (like Partridge Family, Three's Company, Brady Bunch, etc.) - I would later read that the actors hated each other and stayed on drugs and drinking binges to get through it and such. Kind puts a bitter taste on things for me.
Kurt Russell - he was
so cute!

Wonder what he looks like these days? The last time I saw him, several years ago, he was still looking pretty good to me.

I need to Google him and see how he is holding up, just in case he ever gets tired of Goldie.
Wow! Time really does fly. 3 weeks til you trip?!?!
Count me among those enjoying the shopping pics. I think the Poly has my favorite resort shops. They seem to have just the right blend of general and resort- specific stuff. And i love all the Tiki decorations.
Would you believe i havent seen (or heard of ) Summer Magic. Sounds like I would love it so its on my list for this summer.
Yep, you should see
Summer Magic. I bet you would enjoy it.
I'll get plenty more Poly shopping pictures on July 4th.
Three weeks from right now, we will be there!
CanadianWDWfan- so sorry to hear that your mom was injured, but glad to hear she is on the mend. I have always been an awful bike rider, and have more than a few scars to prove it, so I can sympathize with bike injuries!
I'm also happy to hear that Baby O is still doing well. What a blessing that they are able to stay at the hospital and be close by at all times. When Everett was born he was in the NICU for 10 days and I was so thankful that I was able to stay. The hospital had a few rooms dedicated for NICU parents, and even though I was discharged, I could still stay with him. It really made all the difference in an already stressful and scary experience.
I love your shopping pictures Memom! I almost bought the Snow White mug that says "Sometimes I'm a total princess", and I had picked it up before I realized it had another side. I don't really like the Evil queen so I didn't end up buying it, but the Princess comment made me laugh out loud!
So you need a Snow White mug with just the sweet side and no evil side? We will be on the lookout for that.

Snow White is one of Bella's favorites.
I have Follow Me Boys too. Kurt Russell was a little cutie. Another old one that I like is The Happiest Millionaire. When I was growing up my parents were very strict with what we watched on tv and we used to watch a lot of old movies especially the Disney ones. I have always loved them and I have slowly been buying some of the ones we used to watch all the time. So far I have all of the old Herbie movies, Summer Magic, Parent Trap, Davy Crockett, Pollyanna, Swiss Family Robinson, So Dear To My Heart, Old Yeller, and Johnny Tremain.
Fred MacMurray, Kurt Russell, Hayley Mills - I grew up watching all of those movies. I'd love to have them all. Pollyanna is a definite favorite. I have that one on VHS only. I need to have a movie fest with Brooklynn and introduce her to all of these.
I still cannot watch Old Yeller it is too sad. Johnny Tremain is my favorite movie to watch on the 4th of July. It always reminds me of Liberty Square at Disney and the tree.
I saw Johnny Tremain in a History class when I was living in St. Pete. I thought it was awesome. I probably thought that moreso because we got to spend the whole class time watching a movie.

That was a very rare treat in those days.
I've never seen (nor heard of) Summer Magic...can't wait to see it- Maybe tomorrow night!
I love the mugs...so many choices, which is good for me. If I can't make a decision, I spend less money!
I am one of the world's worst decision makers. I walk around with stuff all the time and then put it back on the shelf before I leave the store. Jill makes fun of me.
Let us know what you think of the movie.
I've never seen Summer Magic but one of the songs from the movie is on one of the Disney music vhs we have so after all this talk I just had to order it. I also ordered In Search of the Castaways. I sort of remember watching this when I was very young.
MeMom your such and enabler, I think you've been taking lessons from Anita.
I didn't mean to start anything, but there is a possibility that
Summer Magic just experienced a new revival on
youtube and by mail order!
Speaking of Anita - she is down to her last leg of this Disney trip. She said it has been the most awesome trip ever! We hope to be seeing them Thursday evening as they make their way back home.
Speaking of mugs -- I was blessed enough to have my dear friend Cathy visit this week, all the way from Alaska. Last year, we had her sweet DD join us at WDW for a whole wonderful week. I sent her home with a present for her mama, a Minnie mug to match my favorite one I use at home. So this week, Cathy was tickled that my Minnie became hers for her visit. And I was tickled to hear that her Minnie is her constant companion at school. Keeps her tea hot a good long while. Her students all know that mug means a long lecture is in store!
It's fun to think of your friend using her mug. Drew is not a Disney person by any means, but I think it is cute that he uses his mugs all the time.
That's nice that the daughter got to go to WDW with you!
