Hello!

Here in California gas prices are sky rocketing :eek:

We are not leaving until December, but considering purchasing our airline tickets now because of the gas prices. Prices now are 243.00. Last year we purchased in the summer time and we got 180.00 a ticket! We were wondering if we should wait again (or was that just a fluke) or purchase now before gas prices go up even more.

What do you think? :confused:

If you know for sure when you are travelling in Dec. I would book any fare you find that is $200 or less. Ask whatever airline you are using if you can get a refund if the same seats on the same flights are available at a lower fare than you paid. Most will still do it if you force the issue - the refund will usually be in the form of a credit than can be used for future travel. Good luck!

I personally find that airline ticket prices and rental car prices are lower in September once the "summer vacations" are over.

If the price seems like a deal to you, I'd book it. $243 is good...but we live in ATL and do see $199 deals sometimes that don't require a red eye flight. However, for 50 bucks, I'd take the sure thing and book it now.

I just booked tickets from ATL to Spokane WA to see family in July for $263...I'll be lucky to see that price again in my lifetime! Standard fare is around $400 normally.

Yeah, gas prices are going up here in Illinois too. Paid $1.65 this morning.

Gotta love the oil companies. "Colder winter than expected," and "we did not anticipate the warmer weather coming so soon & we now have shortages until we can switch to our warmer weather blends."

Psst...it's cold every winter and it tends to get warmer every Spring. :crazy:

I will fly to DVC this summer, and the minute I can find tickets $200 or less I'm booking. (Here me American Airlines????) :wave2: :yo-yo:

The tickets from Dayton (Delta) for Dec. just went up $20 per person over the weekend. I guess we should have bought last weekend, but they stayed at $204 for awhile, and once in awhile, we could get $180, now they're $224.

Book it now.::yes::

P.S. Just a little heads up...........this thread will probably be moved by the moderators.:(

we just booked our flights to dvc for christmas on spirit airlines out of chicago for $188 with tax and fees.

im trying to book db and his family out of las vegas for the same time and the cheapest i found song $283, or delt $294

gas here where we live in IL. $1.89

I agree...anything less than $200...book it ::yes::

Gas is going up quite a bit....I think airfares have gone up some also so anything less than $200 is usually a decent deal.

:wave2: :teeth:

Today the flights are $213, so we're probably going to bite the bullet tonight, and purchase them.

And Nick@VB+OKW, sure enough, we're on the transportation board!

Good move!!

We paid $227 for 3 tx during x-mas week with US AIR for non-stop flights. We booked it right at the 330 day mark and got good times.
