Galaxy S3 and MDE for FP+

I still have a Galaxy S3 which can't run the new version of the MDE software for me to book more FP+ while at the parks. Of course I uninstalled the older version last year, I know that I saw a thread on here about how to get a copy of the older version of the app that will run on my phone but I can't find the thread now. Does anyone know where that thread is located or know where to get the old copy of the app that will work with my phone?

It's probably easier to just plan on using your browser and going into your MDE account from there.

I tried making an ADR on my phone the other night using the website and it was so incredibly slow that I was hoping that I could find that info about the old MDE software.

There were many changes to booking FP when the FP system was updated in April ~ the old software no longer applies.

The new software was updated almost weekly as new components were added to FP and Dining.

Thanks for info, I guess Disney thinks everyone has the latest and greatest Samsung or Iphone but I'm too cheap. What about Iphones, my DD has a 5 which she hates to load any apps on to for me but I might force her to do it for this trip.

The iphone5 will be fine for the new MDE FP system. Even an iPod Touch would work.

Just make sure the phone has the latest iOS update and MDE will work for you! :)

This thread both confuses and concerns me...

I have a Galaxy S3 and I currently have no problem running the Disney App. I use it to check wait times all the time (from my home in Illinois) and have done many mock searches for fastpass availability (though the window for my actual date isn't open yet). Both as recently as today.

I'm uncertain if you're mistaken about your phone being able to run the app, or if I should be concerned that I won't be able to run it when I get there... (Even though it seemingly runs fine in Illinois).

What'm I missing here?

EDIT/UPDATE:

Hmm. I just went to the google play store and searched "my disney experience" and it does indeed say incompatible. Guess I'm running an older version of the app? Maybe? Does this older version not allow you to make new choices after your initial 3? The app itself looks exactly like the screenshots on google play, and the screen I'm looking at says, after I use my initial 3 I can make more choices using the app...

Did I get grandfathered into the new version somehow because I owned an old version, before they updated? Despite google play thinking I shouldn't be able to run it?

You must have the old version of the app installed still. I uninstalled it after we didn't go to WDW for a few years so now I no longer have the old app and can't install the new one because it isn't compatible. I'm guessing the old app that you're running won't be able to do everything that the new app can but I'm not sure what features won't work for you.

this thread made me wonder about my phone, Galaxy Avant. had not installed the app yet as trip is still 3 months away. got the same "not compatible" message. very disappointed, will have to use the browser and website I guess.
