Being a FW newbie, could someone please tell me how check in is handled. I know we can't "reserve" a specific site, but can request. Once we get there will they give us some sites to choose from? If not, and we don't like our site will they give us another one?

We are paying for a full hook up loop (we are not bringing the 4 legged child this trip). What are the good FHU loops?
Thanks,
Maura

We leave tomorrow :cool1: and have only stayed at The Fort 2 other times. I would also like to know what the check in procedures are. Can you call ahead the day you arrive and find out your loop # and site #?:confused3

We have requested Loop 100 or 200 and know that they are very popular.
We have a Grand Gathering so they have called 2x the past week to make sure everything is in order for our trip. I wonder if they have already assigned us 2 sites close together?

Good question..........hope you get some replies!:)

When you arrive at the gate they will review your reservation and your camping rig. They have a book that has the dimensions of all the lots and they will look to see if the assigned site is an appropriate size. If the site is ready they will give you the number and directions to get there. Once you get to your site if you feel you can't get into it or can't get your slides and/or awning out, you can call the Outpost or drive back there, for another site. They usually try there best to get you another site if you feel you can't get into the first one. We have stayed there twice with large rigs and the first time they reassigned our site just by looking up the site size. The second time the site assigned was fine.
If you have "linked" reservations they will do there best to get you close together. Last year my DS, DDIL and GD came down a week after we did and got the site right next to us.
Loops 100 200 and 300 are the most popular loops so getting a site there may be pure luck and timing.

Thanks Brad. I read somewhere that the FHU sites were 1000, 1100, 1200, and 1300. Is that correct? IF so, which of those are preferable?

I've stayed in the 1300 loop and had a view of the Meadows pool across the canal. In my humble opinion there are no "bad" sites at FW.
