I posted earlier asking preferences between 2 rooms at POR vs the cabins.

Now I am leaning towards either a cabin or ASM family suite. Any preferences?

We are a party of 6 - 3 adults, 3 children 11, 10 and 6. We will have our car and do not eat at the resort so food and transportation are not an issue for us.

We also go pretty much non stop so recreation at the fort and golf carts are also not considerations.

I like the 2 bathrooms at the ASM family suite. My kids like the bunk beds at the cabins. And since we are coming in Dec. I think the cabins have a "Christmasy feel". There are pros to both.... any thoughts?

With 6 peopleI would lean towards the suite and the two bathrooms. It would make getting ready to go in the mornings, and for bed at night, much easier.

We have not stayed at the cabins but we are a family of 5 and we always stay at the ASMFS .. I love the suites they are great and my kids who were 8,15 and 18 on the last trip had a great sleep every night . We are a family that is always on the run and stays very little at the resort so that is why we stay there !! This summer I am going it alone with my DD and her friends for her sweet 16 we are staying at the Beach Club first time there and looking forward to that !!

I have not stayed at ASM but have stayed at FW Cabins and loved it there. My youngest son & nephew loved the bunkbeds! That was a fun part of the vacation for them. I liked that there was a tv in the bedroom and living room, so we could have the kids go to bed & we could stay up & watch tv. We made good use of the full kitchen for breakfast everyday, some lunches and dinners too. Also used the grill one night for dinner & s'mores. You will be able to park your car right at your cabin. It was May when we went & there were lots of lights on people's campers and tents, so I bet Christmas would have even more lights. Fun to take the boat to MK.

The two bathrooms would be hard to give up, however at Christmas, the cabins would be very cool. And I looked on a FW thread and lots of people put up holiday decorations outside their cabins and RV's and it looked so cool! You'd also have the easy access to WL and all its holiday magic.

But two bathrooms would indeed be very nice and I can vouch for ASMU as a wonderful resort, we have had four great stays there (in rooms not suites but we love the overal resort).

I guess you can't make a bad choice!

We have chosen the Family Suites 2 times - thought about the cabins but liked the set up of the FS more, and having 2 bathrooms is GREAT! We have been at christmas tme, and people also put up lights, window clings... in their windows at ASMu as well. We also liked that there is a queen bed instead of a double in the bedroom, and another TV. We were able to put the kids to bed and we could stay up and watch/ prepare for the next day, we dont cook on vacation (well it is my vacation too afterall ) so having a small microwave, and refridgerator works well for us. and FWIW the kids think the pull out beds there are fun too :wizard:- Have fun!

We loved the suites and the two bathrooms worked out so well in the AM when everyone is getting ready at the same time...we were also pleased with the bus service as ASMu-have not stayed at the cabins but have read some comments on these boards that taking the bus at the cabins takes up more time...

Thanks everyone! Decisions, decisons.....

I am so torn! We love POR and were going to do 2 rooms. Then decided on the cabins until someone on the board mentioned ASMF.

THey both look great and don't think our family of 4 would ever stay in either one by ourselves and more than likely won't be back with 6 people.... SOOO I feel like this is our chance to try one or the other.

They are so many great things about both it is hard to decide!!! It is great to hear others opinions, so I appreciate the feeback.

In December, go with the cabins. We have stayed at both and are staying in the suite this weekend (we have one day left on our tickets and will spend some time at the resort, my DD loves hanging out at this pool and the activities available). We are a party of six as well and they both work out nicely. The extra shower does help, but I like the full size kitchen in the cabin. The great thing about the cabins during the holiday is that you can decorate your cabin, inside and out! We have taken our Charlie Brown tree and set it up in the living room, came back and found some towel shaped gifts under the tree. We also hung lights outside on the cabin and I put up window clings as well. If you go to the camping thread, there are pictures of people who decorate their cabins, golf carts and campsite. It really is nice just to go around and see what they have done. There is also a podcast where Pete talks about how much he loves the cabins, especially during the holidays.
