I'm sure this has probably been done already, but do any of you have any really special stories about an experience with the characters?

This past December we went to Disney and on our last night with my parents there we went to a late dinner at Garden Grille. We saw the characters many times and had a lot of interraction with them. It was near closing and there weren't many people left. Chip came over and gave my 15 y/o DD a kiss on the hand and wanted one back. She kissed him on the cheek and he nearly toppled over. He then preceeded to propose to her and she accepted. He went to the next table, sat down, and made her a ring out of a paper towel. He then made me a bible out of a paper towel and wanted me to be the minister. They marched "down the aisle" and I performed "the ceremony" He gave her a bouquet of crayons out of the little watering can. We were all thrilled, especially my mother as the chipmunks are her absolute favorite characters, and her granddaughter was now married to one!

Just this past December, we were at Cape May Character Breakfast. It was also later in the AM - probably about 10:45 or so. The characters had previously made their rounds but stopped back for a visit. Chip decided he was going to "eat" our DS2's donut. DS2 got very possessive of the donut and didn't like the fact that Chip was going to eat it. Chip, being a sweetheart, walked away and got DS a new donut. No sooner did he do this, but Goofy comes along. Goofy then started to try and "eat" DS's new donut. DS couldn't handle it. He started crying and climbing on my lap. So, Goofy goes over to the buffet and gets an entire plate full of donuts for DS. Brings them over to the table and then Chip put Goofy into "time out". We had a table right by the entrance to the kitchen and Chip "told" Goofy to stay there. Goofy kept peeking his head out at us - making DS2 and DS8 laugh. Chip kept "telling" Goofy to stay there. It was quite comical. We had enough donuts to take with us to last us the next two mornings - the server brought us several bags to put them in. The characters at Cape May have been wonderful on 2 visits there.

During our trip a couple of weeks ago we were walking thru MGM early in the morning on our way to see Buzz and Woody. As we were walking by Pizza Planet, Jesse runs by and ducks into Pizza Planet. DH tells me to follow her. I was hesitant because it was early and I didn't think it was open yet. Anyway, we ended up following her and found her getting tokens. We were the only ones in there with her and she made our kids play air hockey with her. It was great. She kept making a big deal out of our 4 year old "scoring"! It was so cool!

We were at MGM 2 weeks ago, and had a great time with Chip and Dale. Every year when we go, we always eat at the Hollywood and Vine. The characters are always great and the food is good too. This year was even better than usual. First Dale came to see us and was flirting with me and kissing me on the cheek while hubby was shaking a fist at him. Then Chip came over and added to it after Dale left. He really hammed it up. First he kissed my hand, then my cheek. Geoff is shaking his fist and threatening him. Then he threw a napkin over Geoff's head and pulled me out of my chair to take me away. This play went on for about 7 minutes or so. It was really great. That was a big bonus for me this year, especially with how frustrated I was with the crowds.

This was our third trip to WDW in the last couple of years. My wife and I always seemed to have a tough time seeing the Mouse up close and personal. On Thursday morning of our trip we headed over to MK for EE. We were one of the first ones in when the gates open and headed down Main street. We noticed characters lining both sides of the streets. Mostly B-characters nobody big. A fair amount of people were gathering around the characters taking pictures, getting autographs, etc. But right as we approached the end of Main Street we spotted Mickey. He was standing there all by himself (CM too) not another soul in sight. We could hardly believe our eyes, usually he'd be mobbed. So we quickly dashed up to him, shook his hand, said hello and had the CM snap a picture of us with him. We were so happy by our good fortune that we pretty much felt like we were walking on air for the next hour. The picture turned out great and the whole moment turned out to be one of those special unexpected highlights of a WDW trip

We have had a few memorable experiances. The one that comes to mind is ... my sister and I were in the confectionary and she looked out of the side door (by the hat store) and there was Mickey all alone. We got great photos! One from our last trip was a funny one. We were at 1900 Park Faire and Tigger came around. The co-worker we were travelling with (and her 3 boys)got right into everything. We were taking photos with Tigger and when she was done Tigger knocked her on the head. She laughed it off and Tigger was pointing at her and shaking his finger. We even caught it on video and laugh about it when we watch!

PS Lilo kissed one of the boys on his head and now we call Lilo his girlfriend ... he's 8

Sorry this might be long because I had several character moments in December that I will always remember. First off, I'm 24 and my Mom is 51. I love meeting the characters and getting their autograph like any good kid would. We went to the MK for MVMCP and saw Captain Hook and Mr. Smee on Main Street. I had already met Capt. Hook that morning, so my Mom was going to get their autographs while I took the picture. My Mom also had my old autograph book with her that I had glued in pictures of my character greetings from my trip in 1995. Mr. Smee saw the pictures of me in the book and "asked" my Mom who they were. She told him that it was me. He came over and showed me the book with his "handler" tagging along. I told him that those pictures were of me from 1995. The handler pointed to a picture of Rafiki and me and asked if that was me while pointing at Rafiki. I told them that it was Rafiki. Mr. Smee takes my hand and brings me to Capt. Hook and my Mom to be in the picture. Mr. Smee signed my book "To Rafiki." My Mom was really impressed by this and got into the spirit of meeting the characters then.

Another moment happened at the Storybook Breakfast. Belle is my favorite character and the main reason I booked the breakfast. I asked her if she had read any good books lately and she got right into character and we talked for about five minutes. She was in character the whole time. When I told her that she was my favorite character, she told me that she was so glad that I liked her story. She also invited me to meet the Beast and her in France. Four hours later, we are waiting for Belle and the Beast to make their appearance. She remembered me from the breakfast and told me that she was glad that I had come to see her. Belle told the Beast that I was at her breakfast that morning. It may sound dumb, but I was really happy that she remembered me since I'm not exactly a little girl and she is my favorite character. My Mom also was amazed that she would remember me.

Sorry this is so long, but these are the top two character moments out of many.

This past Christmas eve, me my DH, DS (12), DD (12) and DS (7) spent the day at the MK. It poured for the greater part of the afternoon. I had my youngest son's autograph book in my fanny pack. Needless to say, it got wet, right at the binding, and the pages started to fall out. That evening we were at Liberty Tree Tavern and Chip came over to our table. My son handed him his auto book and told him to be careful because the pages were falling out. Chip picked it up and shook it and of course, all the autographs my son had gotten up to that point, fell out on the floor! My son looked up at Chip and said "That's ok, I love you anyways!" Chip gave him a kiss on the head and told us to wait a minute. A couple minutes later, a very wet CM came up to my son with a brand new autograph book and told him it was a gift from Chip! My son was thrilled! Chip then proceeded to sign 6 full pages with little sayings & pictures! It was the high point of our trip!:D

We had some great ones this past Thanksgiving. My dad got married at Sunset Point at the Poly. For the wedding they had Mickey and Minnie attend the reception. It was a small wedding just my dad his new wife, my sister, two step siblings, me my DH and our kids DD 7, DD4 and DS 18 months. Mickey was great with DS 1. We took some pictures and when we were done it was time to walk the 50 feet or so to the reception area. Mickey grabbed my DS 18 months hand and the two of them walked down the path together. My son was talking up a storm (as best he could!) and Mickey was nodding right along with him! The pictures we took look like they could be advertising for Disney, it was trully a magical moment! Mickey and Minnie led the first dance, danced the second dance with my two DD's, assisted with the cake cutting and gave Dad and Stepmom a present. This is when they were done and the CM who was with them came to escort them away. Well Mickey walks over to my DS again and just played with him for 10-15 minutes. We have some great pictures of the two of them playing at sunset with the Poly, Grand Floridian and the castle as the backdrop! Mickey and Minnie really made the wedding even more special than it already was!

Another great one from the same trip. We were at MGM the day after we had gone to MVMCP. We had gone back to Buzz and Woody and just as we were finishing up with them the green army men came out. Three of them came out and three different lines were forming. I went to one line and DH and the kids were following me. The green army man from a different line stopped the kids and asked for my DD 4's autograph book. She gives it to him and he signs his name and then on the opposite page he writes "Did you have fun at the party last night?" My DD was so excited he remembered her and that is all she talked about for weeks! Even still she will show people our pictures and point out the Green Army Men and retell the story giggiling as she goes!

We really saw lots of Disney Magic on this last trip and the characters made Disney fans for life out of my children!!!!!!;)

OK... I'll add mine here...

February 2002... our first trip to the World as a family.

Dh, me, DS (5), DD (3), DD (19 mo) went to the Ice Cream Social. We had brought along our babysitter from home (13). This was a Saturday Afternoon too. Before we could even sit down, Chip came over and picked up my 19 mo dd... this is the first Character interaction EVER for her! I didn't know what to expect! Would she FREAK??!! Chip sat down with her on his lap and proceeded to chat with her while we all got settled down at the table. She loved him!

After that, it was basic interaction, until Chip walked by and made a large L on his forehead to my DH... signifying LOSER! So, they go back and forth with the L's for a while then Chip disappears. Then, Chip and Dale come back and start harrassing the babysitter about finding her a date... She is beet red at this point, as they go around the restaurant picking out boys! Mickey is standing next to us, watching the whole thing! (I have this all on video)... Then they go into the kitchen and bring out this very homely looking older man (cook)!! LOL!!

Now, things settle for a bit. DH has to take DS to the restroom for that daily thing! So, we are sitting there, me, babysitter and the girls... Of course, Chip and Dale come back, Mickey too, and Chip proceeds to turn my DH's chair over, unwrap the entire roll of paper towels onto it, rip off a towel and write "ONE BIG LOSER SITS HERE" and sticks it onto his ice cream cone!!! We were rolling in the aisles... Mickey was acting like Chip was going to get into trouble... lol

DH comes back and starts laughing! Finally they all come over and pose for a picture with the sign that Chip wrote.

Awesome time! It was a GREAT welcome to Disney World!

I have a couple stories that come to mind. Our 2nd trip to WDW our oldest dd (then only dd) was 3 1/2. We were at Chef Mickey's. DD had 4 little figurines of Cinderella, Belle, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Minnie "quizzed" her on who each one was (of course she got them all right). Then she looked like she was whispering something in her ear and dd got this huge grin on her face. I asked her after Minnie left if she had said something to her and she said, "She said 'I love you'!" Really special since she's a "non-talking" character! Our 3rd trip, still with just the one dd, she was about 5 1/2, we were at Garden Grill and had a great time with Chip & Dale. They kept writing notes on dd's coloring page like Chip would write "Chip Rulez, Dale Droolz" and then Dale would come by, look all mad and write something back. They kept going back and forth like that. Very amusing. We have the coloring page as a momento.

Let's see...

About 8 years or so ago at the Garden Grill I had a fairly memorable character experience. Shortly after leaving my table, Dale went skipping away- right into a waiter carrying a tray of dishes. The dishes crashed to the floor. Dale was very sorry and appologized to the waiter. Not long after Chip came around to scold Dale as if to say he should be more careful. Neerby I spotted Mickey watching the entire thing fold out and laughing. Minnie came around a little latter and made it clear to him that it wasn't funny. It was the most entertaining accedent I've ever seen.

Another favorite memory occoured at AK. I was watching some of the animals on one of the trails when I felt something grab me from behind. I spun around to see Princess Atta from A Bug's Life giving me a hug and a kiss. She wouldn't let go either! After I got a picture with her she let go, blew me another kiss. I wondered if Flik would get jealous if he knew his girlfriend was flirting with another man. ;)

I could go on and on... the characters are all so great.

Our trip last Jan.....Our son was 2 at the time. He calls the Castle, "Mickey's House". We had an early PS for Cindy's and our son kept saying he was going to Mickey's house for breakfast. We told him that the princesses lived there, but he would have none of that! We decided he would figure it out when he saw all the princess. As we approached the castle, but who should walk out MICKEY! Not another person was around, just Mickey standing at the entrance to the castle! Our 2 year old of course decided Mickey was just getting up for the morning. We never try to tell him anymore that the castle is not "Mickey's house"

we have two both from our first family trip in Feb 2000

1--- we were by pizza planet waiting for Buzz and Woody just standing around by the fountain and talking and taking a much needed break when i got a really weird feeling like i was being watched so i turned around and standing not even two inches from me was a green army man he startled me so much i screamed much to the delight of my then 6 and 4 year old daughters they laughed for the rest of the day

2--same trip different day we went to Epcot the girls had seen all the princesses except one Belle ( i think kinda hard to remember who we waiting to see) well the kids were getting tired and cranky and we were ready to leave when my Dh decided to ask a CM if she would be making an appearence any time soon

He said to go to France and aroung back by a gate wait we would see her soon
he also said if we waited long enough the girls were in for a treat
so off we go to france
find the fence/ gate and wait

out comes the beast but no belle so we wait and there is no one else around us just the 4 of us and the gates open and out walk the two girl mice from cinderella (can't think of there names right now)
well they walk right up to my girls and each takes a hand and off they go DH kept up with them and i tryed to follow with all our stuff but the mice weren't waiting for us they toured al of france hand in hand with the girls they danced in the steets with them then did auto graphs gave them a kiss and waived goodbye
whole thing took probably 5 minutes but made memoried to last a life time it was really great.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

For the last 30 years, I had carried around a 4 year olds scar. I didn't get to meet Mickey Mouse when I went to MK as a child. I had wanted to do that one thing and I wasn't able to do it. Well, on our vacation in September 2002, I had planned to do the ice cream social at Epcot on the first day in the parks to remedy the situation, but I actually got a bit of a surprise on the day we arrived while we were shopping at DTD with our friends. Gabby and I managed to slip away from our friends and their kids for a couple of minutes in one of the stores. I really had been considering going to Studio M to have our picture made with Mickey Mouse sometime later in the week, but I was unsure how much that might cost. So, I grabbed Gabby and said, let's go down this way and pulled her to the left. Just as we both turned left to walk down toward Studio M, I saw Mickey Mouse talking to a family that had a little girl in a wheelchair. The child looked to have very limited movement and mental capacity, but was all smiles for Mickey. When Mickey was done with the child, he waved to a kid that was on his left and was about to scoot back into his photo room away from the crowd. I said "Hey Mickey, can I have a hug?" and he turned around. Gabby said "Don't cry." but it was too late. I was totally immersed in a huge cloud of pixie dust. I was hugging Mickey Mouse! I was crying like a baby. I explained to the lady there that I felt like a fool, but I had wanted to meet Mickey for 30 years and it was just awesome and overwhelming. They asked me to step inside with Mickey and they were going to take my picture with him since we didn't have a camera with us. At that point, I didn't care if the picture was going to cost $100, I was buying it. They took our picture and after goofing with Mickey and getting a few Mickey kisses and hugs, I left the room. They gave me the full package of pictures at no charge. I was shocked. I thanked them as much as I could. I offered to pay for the pictures, but they said that they were glad to give them to me and there everyone deserves to have a picture of their first time meeting Mickey. I walked away stunned and very happy. I finally got to meet Mickey Mouse. I am such a large toddler, but a really happy one. lol Mickey

We went to 1900 Park Faire for breakfast on a Sunday morning in October. DD wore her Christmas Belle dress and accompanying tiara. The tiara just wouldn't stay on her head, as it didn't have the comb attachments. Alice in Wonderland came to our table, and asked DD if she could try on her tiara, as Cinderella never let her, because she might break it. DD happily agree to let Alice try on the tiara, and Alice made a great big deal out of the whole thing. When Alice went to put it back on DD's head, it kept slipping to one side, so Alice took one of her bobbypins out of her hair, saying they always stuck too many in there anyway, and proceded to pin the tiara in DD's hair. We got pictures of this, and DD wore that tiara, with no more slippage, for the rest of the day.

One time during e-ride night, I was standing out in front of the castle. They had music playing so I started dancing to it, pretending to waltz and such. The next thing I know, along came Goofy. He took my hands, and we danced together all over the courtyard. :)

My DS12 had a funny encounter with Jafar last October. He was one of the few I could get him to ask for an autograph and I think that Jafar understood the 'cool' factor at play here. When he finished signing he tossed my sons book on the ground in one direction and his pen in another and shooed him away. It was very funny, and very COOL!!

When DH and I were in WDW last January, sans DD, they were still having the character caravans at the resorts on select mornings. I went down to the lobby at the Contemporary ahead of DH, and there was Timon, just standing there. He came over, gave me a big hug, and we proceeded to dance. It was great!!!

Another trip that was just DH and me, we were in AK. I had my hair in pigtails, and Pluto thought that way just the best thing. He kept picking up one of my pigtails, and one of his ears. We have a picture of it, and it is one of my favorites. If DH would ever hook up the scanner, I would post it!

Several years ago when dd was 3 we went to the castle for breakfast. DD insisted that she wear her Cinderella Dress. While we were there Prince Charming comes over and taps DD on the shoulder and says " comeon Cinderella we can not eat yet". Well DD wideeyed insisted that she was not Cinderella. Then all the other characters started coming over to tell her to greet the guests. All she kept saying was "but I'm not Cinderella". Then Cinderella came over lookin jealous and DD started to get nervous. finally the Prince apoligized for his mistake and asked her to dance. the rest of the day she was telling eveyone how the prince thought she was Cinderella. It was one of those things you never forget.
