Hello all!!

Holy Cow!!!! I go away for the weekend, and come back to ten plus pages!!! We are quite the talkative bunch........I love it!!:rotfl:

Thanks for posting those excursions, but I hope they offer a few more items in Manzanillo

Weather update: we're expecting a cold front tonight, Thursday, and this weekend. Thursday being the worst of them. (Lows in Tampa down to the high 30's).

I moved to Florida to get away from this. To put this in perspective. Our usual lows this time of year are the low 60's/ high 50's. That's a 20 degree difference.

:( Ok, major sad face! I am going to Florida next week (one day at MK!!!) and would love it to be warmer thee than it is here, lol. I am leaving NH to get away from the cold!

Cheerio,

Holly :)

Aren't pink passes what SW employees fly free on? It's been a while since i've seen one.

Ah you are thinking of our old Buddy passes that were pink. We used to fly with a little paper pass. Now it is all electronic. As for our Buddy passes, they are Purple now.

Hello all,

Just so I can maintain my reputation of never in point of fact posting anything on topic, I want to ask the following.

Is anyone planning on going to the new Harry Potter park in Orlando?

We are starting to see commercials for it, and I'm intrigued.

Katherine

It will be interesting to see the park, but from what I understand, there will only be one new ride. The other two I believe are repurposed rides (Fire & Ice Rollercoaster and the kids dragon coaster - forgot what it was called). All the rest of the new park is really restaurants, shops etc. What I have seen didn't overly impress me.

I think I am more interested in the new expansion of Fantasyland at WDW - especially as I saw a rumor that there will be a Beauty and the Beast Ride in the new Beasts castle they are building.

I am not a Harry Potter fan. I have not seen one movie or read one book of the series.

I am a huge Potter fan and would love to go, however since they still have not released an opening day it makes it difficult to plan :furious:

Hopefully I will get there someday....

Will any part of the new Fantasyland expansion be done when we are there in January 2011?

I know, I know...blasphemy on the DIS boards, but I received an email from Universal Parks & Hotels (mostly the hotels) for their 'exclusive' Harry Potter promotion. If anyone wants the email, send me a PM and I will forward to you. As DD is a HUGE HP fan, actually a HUGE Hermoine fan, we were hoping to see the new HP World, on our spring break trip in mid-March. HOWEVER, all the dates I put into the magic Universal promo came back not available -- I tried March, April and May, I guess when they promote "SPRING 2010" they really mean late Spring (sometime prior to June 21st):confused3 So we are a bit :sad1: at our dashed HP dream, but thinking we will try Typhoon Lagoon instead...:scared1:come on warm weather!!!

Alan...I think your DBIL deserves all the blame:yay:, we'll be watching for you on the Tellie:eek: Early Happy Birthday to YOU!!

I will, I was looking forward to enjoying a waterpark this trip but it is not looking good. If anyone is a Baseball Tonight fan, they are doing a broadcast from the big Mickey hat on Sunday. I plan on being there. If you are watching look for the ugly dude in the Dodger hat. I may be in my Lakers shirt or have Dodger jacket on, I might have my PC 08 hoodie on. Not sure, but I will have my Dodger hat on.

Go Dodgers!!!! (Go Angels!!!!) Go Alan in your Dodgers gear!!!!

Yes, I live up here in the land of the Giants and the As, but "my" teams are still in Southern California. The very first professional game I saw was in 1962 when the Yankees played the Angels in Dodger stadium. I can still remember that day - Angels won, 5-4. I got to see Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Tony Kubek, etc, play - that was a treat!

I thought I was the only one that hasn't seen the movies or read the books! ;)

I'll make it an official "crowd" of those who have not seen any of the movies or read any of the HP books.

I did well enough to read the Lemony Snickett books - but detested the movie.

Well of course not! How could you be fans of something you had never partaken of?

I'm trying to teach my children the bones of story telling, and taught them that Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings are all the same story. You can tell it with elves or droids, or pirates. The story is a "big man" comes in and wants to be called Lord of all and a remnant of the people fight them off for their freedom.

My then 5yo took in the information, wandered off and came back with, "Mommy the movie Robots is that story too!"

He gets it yeah!! :cool1:

The fun is in the details, and JK Rowling is very good at details.

Ok put me at the peripheral edge of the crowd, I read the first book, but then only read wikipedia summaries so I knew what on earth everyone was talking about :lmao: - HP isn't my thing.

My niece did not like to read. Loved the TV or movies or video games but the HP movies came out and read all of them and now loves to read! She would rather have a books gift card than clothes or I Pod. I hate to admit. I prefer the books than the movies.

I could not ever live up there. Sorry, to be around Giants fans 24/7/365, I would go nuts. I just could not do it.
