We admire all of you for planning your cruises,:worship: however, this is the first time we have ever booked a cruise this far out. Our reason for booking early (We weren't as early as most of you though, booked less than a month ago) was because we were on the Magic and could get the extra discounts. We really want to go through the canal and didn't want to take a chance on a sell out. Our usual is that all vacations, trips, cruises, etc are more of the spontaneous kind (Change jug is full, time to go somewhere).Let the cruise unfold day by day, no plans, no expectations, except that someone will make our bed, fix our meals, clean up after us and LOTS AND LOTS OF PIXIE DUST:tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker:

I read lots of cruise forums, but rarely post. The bracelet idea has brought me out of hiding for the PC cruise. Since DH and I will be cruising without any family or friends this time, it would be great to share a wave or a hi as we walk around the ship, especially on sea days. Just thought I would add my vote, so that if there are bracelets, we can be included.

I am the one who suggested the bracelets as I ordered them for my last cruise :) As we get closer to the date I will start taking actual orders to see how many people are interested. Then we can vote on color and the saying. It really was a nice way to recognize people and I know that the Dis'ers with kids told them that if they got lost and couldn't find a castmember they could go up to someone with a bracelet because we were safe :) well some of us... ;)

Cheerio,

Holly

Good Day All :goodvibes

Made our reservation this morning for a 2 bedroom villa at the Grand Californian for 2 nights after the cruise. I figured we need the washer/dryer by the time we get off the cruise. I'm hoping DL will run the adults at the kids price for tickets like they've been doing for the last couple of years.

My daughter and son-in-law might come down to join us for that weekend too.

So jealous...my booking window doesn't open on the GCV's until June, I'll be dialing first thing that morning!:woohoo:

Does anyone know how far in advance the different shore excursions are available for viewing online so you can see what you might be interested in? I know about the booking windows, but I cant seem to find anywhere about when you can just LOOK at what excursions will be offered?

DCL should post their port excursion information mid-summer. The Passporter folks have writeups on the ports that DCL has done before, though there is no guarantee the same ones will be offered this time. On the website that Jeff setup there are links to the scheduled ports. For now, we can dream...:cloud9:

For the craft thing, let me see what I can't get figured out. May have to put concierge on it before sailing....

And we can do a mixed craft meet or meetings. The thing I love about knitting over scrapbooking is how portable it is. I can very easily take it to the Cove Cafe for a couple of hours in a comfy chair and be very self contained. Kinda hard to be a self contained scrapper!

Yes, you're right, Jen. I can't work without a table of some sort. Used to crochet, but can't grasp the hook any more. Never did learn how to knit - something about confusion with two sticks instead of one, I guess. That's all right, I can chat without doing anything, lol.

Have fun I wish we were there too. I still have over 266 days to go.

We are. Just makes me look even more forward to Thursday when I go to WDW.

Let us know how it goes, I'll be interested in hearing if the villas are booked up before then. I wouldn't think so based on the time of year. How many nights are you trying for? Good luck!

Hubby was on the phone at 9:01 this morning with member services booking us a 1 bedroom at the Grand Californian for a week. We're trying to convince family to come join us but not sure if that'll happen. Have a great week everyone!

It's great to see others will be joining us at the VGC. I was up at 6AM for our reservation.

I will post my results here on June 21st!! We are looking at 2 nights -- Friday when we debark and Saturday. Unfortunately we will have to return home on Sunday for the reality blast on Monday:confused3 DH mumbles something about wanting $ for groceries & the house note:confused3. i should have married for money instead of love:love: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2:

Last DL vacation (2005) we stayed at the Grand Califorian, and we LOVED it -- pool to roller coaster to pool within steps of each other:yay::yay:!!

I am so planning a trip to Scotland just to ride with you!! I grew up showing and DD10 shows now. DD 2.5 is not far behind.:thumbsup2

The bracelet idea sounds great!!

Keep checking the website for stateroom# and excursion info - I don't want to wait until summertime. <pouty face> :rotfl:

Oh, what a wonderful idea to get us knitters/crafters together! Isn't there a conference room on the Wonder to use for such activites? If I remember---we used a restaurant for the wonderful scrapbooking session on the first-ever 5 night cruise on the Magic. Alas, I never completed my scrapbook---I work with paper/documents all day long and the last thing I want to do when I get home is work with more paper!

When I turned 40, I had a mini-mid-life-crisis and turned to sewing, knitting, spinning and felting--it is all so much fun!
Really, thats good, I got a tattoo, covertable and started running:lmao:

That would be great, I rode in Ca last year, my cousin lives in Thousand oaks, someone from his work has horses(forgive me if Ive said this) the house was like nothing ive ever seen, it was a horse gated community, one side of the road was for horses, the other for people, trails and arenas everywhere, amazing, does your dd show in had or ride?
My neice was great on our horse but when she got to 9 she fell off (not bad at all) but she really lost her nerve and that was that. Not built like me then:rotfl: If at first you dont succed and all that.

WOW! I'm impressed! Dh retired from the military, we dropped out, went back to school for two years and lived in poverty. (It was worth it!)

Cross stitch? No, same pinching motion needed as for the crochet hook.

Good morning, Everyone! Happy Monday!
