OK, I'm a self-diagnosed Disney addict. I wish, wish, wish that I could afford multiple trips a year but, alas, I couldn't even afford one trip to my happy place last year.
So, a few weeks ago, I ask DB#2 (20) if he and his GF would think about a trip with me and DS in August. Free dining (hopefully). GF has never been to the World but she really wants to go. I'm dying to create my very own Disney monster! We can plot and scheme the next trip together! Pester and beg to go to Disney, yet AGAIN....
Oh, the anticipation. Do they want to go? Can they afford it? Will I go - just me and DS - if they can't? Oh, the agony. So I call DB#2 and ask which way they're leaning - to go or not to go (do I do the happy dance or do I need to do some more convincing?) They're in.

BWAHAHAHAHA! My evil plan is begun!
But wait! DB#2 tells mom that "Yup, we're definitely going" and she calls to ask what's going on. Now, I didn't initially mention any possible upcoming trip to Mom because, quite frankly, she's the one who asks "AGAIN?!?" when I say I need to go to WDW. I was going to ask her if I could take DB#3 (14yo) with me, figuring that she wouldn't want to go herself. So, I'm shocked when she starts asking where we're planning on staying (POP or CBR), when we're going, how much per person.... By golly, I think she wants in too!
So now we're in high gear - POP or CBR? I'm pushing for CBR but mom is ... and here I come to this again... she's cheap. I like the word frugal. I really try to type the word frugal. But "frugal" implies that one spends a little extra when the extra is warranted. Not mom. She'll buy the cheapest of anything even though she'll have to buy a replacement and end up spending more in total than if she just would have bought the much better, slightly more expensive model. Frugal is planning a trip during Value Season. Super frugal is planning a trip during the Value Season/Free Dining doozy!! sigh .... but I digress. I can't afford to foot the difference for the 4 of us (mom, DB#3, DS & me) so it looks like it'll be POP. Meh...that's ok as long as I'm at WDW. It's all good.
Oh, now GF's BFF and her BF will be joining the fray. Now we're up to a party of 8!
BUT - BFF and her BF will only stay at CBR. Yeesh! OK - 1 room at CBR, 1 room at POP (still working on mom, though...)
Well, let's start thinking about where we want to eat - gotta make those ADR's! SCREEEEEEEEECH to a halt. What? The PIN's coming out right now don't include Values in Free Dining? Will FD be offered for Values at all? OH, the agony.... the anxiety.... the...
... wait a minute - this may tip mom over to CBR!
Difference of $116 per person less cost to upgrade to DDP from QS (again, if it's even offered - always the "if" until I get that FD PIN or it's announced!) less the daily cost to have a fridge at POP... difference brought down to about $16 pp to upgrade to CBR for 8 nights!!! Mom sees the logic and agrees to CBR.
Pure joy!
Now pllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeaassee let there be FD!
Still working on ADR's.... we've got 8 people now.
Hmmmm. Mom calls last night. How much would the trip cost for DB#1 (38) and his kids (9,8,& 6)? Now, short of winning the lottery, my DB#1 ain't coming. He and his wife seperated a year and a half ago. Then he lost his job. He hasn't found a new one (wife or job!
) yet. So if she's asking.... could it be that my mom is thinking of taking my DB#1 & his kiddies?!?!
What is the world coming to?
So, dear DISer, if you've actually made it this far in my rambling.... I'm so totally STOKED! I've gone from just me and DS to a potential party of 12! First trip for DB#2's GF... possible first trip for my niece and 2 nephews....
Oh, I hope it all works out.
Now, back to those ADR's.......
