While it wouldn't be my first choice, snakes in a room, I could take. I have yet to encounter one where I could run away from it. Now put me in an MRI . . .
I can't say the exact room number for the view in DLBDS' post but it is quite similar to the one I had in room 6108. 6108 is the room on the corner of the garden wing overlooking bay lake and the canal to seven seas lagoon. The ferries, friendship boats and personal water craft pass through it constantly. This view looks to be a few rooms up toward the monorail line.
While it was a ground floor room, 6108 had no snakes in it, as far as I saw, and I would have seen them because DD freaks majorly at any non-mammalian wildlife smaller than a cat.
it's Florida. I expect strange things like this to happen. I'm surprised we've never had lizards with all the little guys I see running around there. Overall not a big deal, really.
I only hope they were safely moved elsewhere and the eggs weren't lost, but that's probably not the case once they're touched by human hands, right?
Yeah, I wondered the same thing being the big animal lover. I worked for vets for over 12 years and we did reptiles, but I've never dealt with snake eggs, but believe that they stay with their nest (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). We did lots of turtles at the clinic, and our doctor (who used to be the doc for the local wildlife rescue), would bring the turtles in, have them lay their eggs (because usually they would go to lay them off of a really busy road), keep the eggs in soil in a tupperware container (this is sort of the way they are anyway in the wild........the females lays them in dirt and buries them), released the female, and then once the eggs hatched he would release them at the state park where hopefully they could live a safe, long life. We saw all sorts of turtles..........box, snapping, sliders, etc.......
FYI.........if you ever do see a turtle crossing the road and choose to help it, please always take it to the side that it's going to already. Chances are that it's going to lay eggs (or is coming back from doing so), and if you turn it around it will just go right back.

Talked to mother -in -law this morning. She is a co-worker to the family staying in the room. She said they don't recall the room number but it was on the second floor. I guess the snake took the elevator.

Im completely spooked..How many famillies cohabitated with the snake without knowing. I would have had a heart attack..Im picturing shower scenes, toilet scenes...uggghh
A nicer prettier room would not calm me valium o0n the other hand..
If you look at at the photo, the snake is ON TOP OF THE CURTAIN ROD!!! I can't figure out how it got up the curtain. DH said some snakes can crawl up walls...there's an image!
