Really? Am I misunderstanding something - hope so!

When I tried to book FD for my entire stay (Oct 19-25) at the Poly it showed no availability (online). After playing around with the days I discovered that the problem wasn't with the entire stay -it was just Oct 24 & Oct 25 that were causing the problem. So, I went ahead and booked the FD offer for Oct 19-23. I still need Oct 24-25; which I have booked under my original non-discounted package reservation.

Am I thinking wrong?

Once the phone lines clear I would call and explain the situation. Free Dining is good for your entire stay so if they just add the 2 days now it should go through. You already have a FD package booked.
 
I got the "all systems are down, try back in 2-3 hours" comment from a CM also. She did answer some general "what-if" questions for me though, so it wasn't a total waste. ;)

And since I was just trying to cancel my double-booked original ressie, she suggested that I call back in a few days for the call volume to decrease...
 
Just got off the phone with CM she said they are having problems with computers and they cant do any new res cancellations or modifications at this time

Guess this is why I can't access our reservations on the site. My DH wants me to do a screenshot of changes since we haven't received confirmation email yet.
 
Good luck to all of you still trying, just wanted to give an update on what happened for me. Was in queue right at 7:00:20 EST, waited 90 minutes to get a CM. When I spoke with her, she said they were having system issues that the discounts weren't set up correct in the pc's for all of the rooms/discounts, and that right at 7 am there were 1,100 people in queue. Not sure where she was getting her info, but sounded legitimate as she had talked to their tech support about the reservations before me, and they told her about the discount issue and weren't able to resolve for them (BOO, very sorry for them :sad1: ).

I ended up spending the next hour on the phone with the fabulous CM, who despite all of the issues, seemed very happy to make our first visit to the mouse as magical as could be pixiedust: ! This CM went above and beyond to make sure our every need and wish was met and that I took care of everything I needed to while on the phone! I started out :furious: due to the wait time (BAD IT department :badpc: ), but ended up overjoyed! Let the countdown begin!

Anyhow hang in there, it seems the website was allowing the codes through, but I couldn't do a multi-room booking. My advise if you don't have to modify an existing reservation would be to use the web, and sign in with two accounts if you need a multiple room booking!

Best wishes to all! I am so excited as this will be our entire party's first trip to Disney World, our twins 5th birthday celebration (we come home the day before their birthday), and DW and my 10 yr wedding anniversary!
 

Walking to work in Chicago at 845 CT and the super nice CM gave me rates for Yacht.
(Just an FYI using a promo code on orbitz was cheaper than what she gave me.)
 
Looks like I'm waiting to cancel my old ressie. Not like I was able to even get on hold when I call. :rotfl2:

I was calling earlier to try and cancel my RO and just kept getting busy signals. I'm totally waiting till tomorrow or next week........

I edited my original post to mention something along these lines. Guess it would make sense that FD could just be added to my exisiting reservation. I was on hold for an hour this morning and gave up. Back to the phones! :)
 
Hi everyone! I just got a message from my TA, who is the BEST I have ever had, and she said they are experiencing holds/delays/glitches like never before!!! She said places like POR are showing no availability, but it is possible that could be a glitch due overload. Pixie dust and best wishes everyone!!!

OK, I just looked at POR has room for family of 5 from Nov 1st-8th.

When I was on the phone with the CM, he said the problem is including that weekend Nov 9-11. Since Monday is Veterans day, they are blocking that weekend.

If you take out the weekend dates, it's avaliable

Congrats to all you FD'ers!!!! I remember how excited I was last year for Fall FD'ing. Have to wait till next year for us though.
 
No- it crashed. My operator said they had over 1000 people on hold & the system could not handle it & crashed

They always say it's 'enhancments'. It crashed and some stuff wasn't right so they have to fix it.

Man, it was tough to find FD for a family of 5 around Thanksgiving week. We had a preferred room booked at POR (I had booked weeks ago because I thought FD wouldn't hit on Thanksgiving week anyway - didn't fully understand that since we were coming in on the Friday the week before, the whole stay would likely be covered if FD was offered), so I was hoping to get FD there - but my hopes dwindled this week slowly but surely. First no DV offer on Monday, then read that POFQ was not included, and so many people saying they would just switch to POR - I started accepting that my alternates would come into play. Unfortunately, my first alternate was AoA - and that was out, as well! Checking today online while waiting on hold for 2 hours, I could see that there wasn't much available for our dates for 5, so I decided that I'd use the FD savings to upgrade to a deluxe and pay around the same as I would anyway with my rack rate POR room with the dining plan. Wanted the Poly, but only Theme Park view was available for an extra $1000 - pass. Choice 3 (or was I now up to 4) was Contemporary - it was available so I took it. This increased our grand total by $7.

I'd have preferred to stay at POR and save the money, but the chance to move up to a Deluxe for the same amount that we were already committed to pay is not a bad consolation. Thanks to all for so much useful information!!

That's awesome! I've been glancing at the boards all morning. yours and patches were two I was trying to catch up on. I gave up looking for a few people. Too many pages too fast. So happy for you =)
 
I have my fingers crossed to everyone still waiting! My FIL called right at 7 and got through to someone right away. He was able to get the RO discount (what we wanted) but we had to upgrade from garden view to lagoon view (we're at YC). The most amazing part? He paid for our full reservation (room, tickets, DDP) as a bday present for our twins! They do sooo much for us already I can't believe they are being so generous. I'm seriously in tears over it :)
 
My TA has been awesome! she has been on google chat with me all morning keeping me updated, and has been on hold since 7. She said she got through and they told her the system was down and then put her back in the queue. Meanwhile, she's put a hold on our booking so if she can't update our current reservation, we will cancel and go with what she put the hold on. I feel for her, she said she had a stack of reservations for clients to change.
