check ins after October 7. Don't wait for an invite, as soon as you are eligible for FP+ when you log into MDE it will pop up. I was sure surprised, did not expect that I would be using FP+; logged into my account one day and there it was. I kind of did it on the fly and then went back in to tweak the times.

right now FP+ is only available through November. Once people start getting the option to do it for December, there will be a lot of posts on the Theme Parks section.There is one for DEcember that you could subscribe too. November just went live in the last 4-5 days.

When we get back from our October trip ill start planning our 2015 trip! That's such a long ways away

I can't figure it out exactly. I've heard when it gets dark - which isn't a lot of help! I'm guessing it is around 6:30.

I know it was around 6:15 on one of our trips. You may be able to see it and show up 5 minutes late for your reservation.

If I have a ressie at LT for 4, think I can either call to add 2 or just show up with the other 2? Been checking forever and a day for a separate ressie, but no luck and we leave in a few weeks.

I had been trying to add 1 person to my 1900 Park Fare ressie for months to make it for 5 people. When I talked to one of the CMs he said he didn't think they would have a problem with us just walking up with the extra person and see if they can fit them in. Not sure about 2 though.....

I am too much of a "nervous nellie" to count on that advice. Luckily, I was able to get one for 5 on another day. Keep trying because I think the closer you get, things start opening up. Good luck!

I'm still having this dilemma. We have FD, but I'm planning (just in case) to spend a couple hundred extra on food. Especially with good & wine. My DH won't want a single souvenir, there's only a couple things I want and DS 5, well we will probably have to talk him into things because he never asks for things. We could sit in the toy store all day and he won't ask for anything! But for some reason I feel like I don't have enough which is $1200 right now...

Oh my gosh- I think I'd like to trade places with your DS and my DS4. He used to be like that but, just in the last year, has been next to impossible to take to a store because of always wanting something. It's worse b/c my in-laws buy him stuff whenever they have him.

He'll be just a little under a month shy of turning 5 when we go back to Disney this November. Last year, he was on his Wish trip so he got a few surprise goodies from Give Kids the World. The in-laws went with us so he ended up with a small train car with Mickey (it was less than $10), one of those light up "swords (he called it his light saber)" that they also got for him ($10-15). They bought him a little dinosaur set from Universal IoA (less than $15) and a rhino from AK (less than $10). We got him a Build a Minion (like a Potato Head) for $15 at Universal. Before we left, since we had a rental car, we went to a couple of the souvenir shops in Kissimmee. We got a Buzz Lightyear remote control toy for $14 and some Disney wall clings (Disney/Pixar characters sporting Mickey Ears) for $8, plus a souvenir shirt for $8. We got off pretty lucky! He didn't even want any of the Disney Star Wars characters!!! (He was into the "REAL" Star wars people at the time) I have the feeling that will change this year. We'll see! We have so much stockpiled for his birthday (12/3) and Christmas that I really hope he doesn't want a lot this trip. (We started buying stuff on sale after Christmas last yr before we ever dreamed about making a return trip to WDW. I so wish we didn't now!)

We have bought each of our kiddos a $50 disney gift card from Target for them to spend on our trip. They are 8, 6, and almost 2 years old. I think that is a pretty good amount for their ages.

We are new the WDW, but we go at least once a year to Disneyland for a few days. My kids each get a certain amount of money (we do $10 a day per kid) and they use that for any extras. They can get stuff or extra treats with that money. They are very careful with it and it seems to stop any asking us.

We do not do a Disney Card because they often pick things from other stores at Downtown Disney.

If they were to see something beyond their budget, we might offer it as a future Christmas/birthday gift, but that has not happened.

My kids are 11 and 8 - and this has worked since they were old enough to understand money.
