Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!! (And a whole lot more) ~ Part 3

I just called Disney to try for FD again today, and got the same CM I got yesterday! Idk why but I think that's crazy. Lol

That happened to me when I got sprinkled with pixie dust and got my POR with free dining! I called back because in my excitement I had forgotten to cancel my previous reservation and there was Bradford again to help me!

Yep. So I'm torn, do I use his name or not? I would feel terrible if he got in any sort of "real" trouble, ya know??

Yeah but there was no reason for that. They're vacation planners...wdw vacation planners. They hold a very high standard. He was being very unprofessional and that's not wdw.

I got a reply email saying "depending on any investigations" I would get a response with 7 days. I'm anxious to see what they say!

OK, I know probably it's just me, but since it seems like I've gotten to know "this crowd", I figured I would toss it out.

We're going Oct. 2-12 (really in the park Oct. 3-11 with travel on the outsides... Caught the free dining (and saved a ton), so thanks everyone, and good luck to those still looking.

Now to my question... crowds.

I know it won't be the "empty park" I got September a couple of years ago, but how bad? Easywdw shows "5" most days, with a few "7", while ************** shows this as a 2 week. Seems odd the mismatch is so much.

Any thoughts/experience from this time of year?

Any experience as what a "5" is really like? We are NOT rope drop people, but we'll stay up half the night if given the opportunity :-)

Thanks

Good to know! Its only $30 to add 1 more day of tix for us, so we were thinking of doing a park Sun night (11/10) Ive read some people have had trouble, and some have had success getting their package early. What is your plan?

You are a smart lady to avoid HWS on Monday, but we do not have hoppers, and my DD saw a you tube video of the Disney Jr Dance that is only offered nights HWS has EMH. So we are pretty much braving the crowds just for that! :)

Thank you again for your help! Since we have 2 hws days, would you suggest just taking it easy Monday morning. Get the check out and check in out of the way, and not attempt to make RD? Just leisurely take in the shows? We will also be at HWS on the 13th (I think) and we could go to RD and make sure we do the high priorities that day?

I know my plan is to go to dtd after we check-in on Sunday to pick up our tickets at guest relations. Probably go in the pool and relax for most of that day then we have ress for the dessert party in mk that night. We're going to add a day to our tickets too. But remember, you have to use your tickets at least once before you add a day on. So since I'll be using my tickets to get into mk on the 10th,I'll add the extra day on before I enter the mk on the Monday. Hs is probably going to be crowded but i think epcot will be worse because it's the last day of food and wine. You shouldn't have any problems getting your tickets early. It will be my first time doing this too. I know we will probably get up early on that monday morning to checkout (7am) so we can check-in at POR by 8am. Mk is only open till 7pm that day (mvmcp) so I want to try to get to the park by 9-9:30. I like hs but it's not my favorite . We're going there on the 13th too in the hopes of seeing the Osborne Christmas lights that night but on that day we probably won't go till around lunch time. We have parkhoppers but we never really parkhop too much don't know why I spend the extra money. If hs is open later that night I wouldn't kill myself to get there early. Take your time in the morning checking in at pop since your doing hs two times that week.

Just checking in to see if everyone is behaving.

No? Ok, good.

Joe, what is your opinion about travel insurance? Do you take it out for your trips? I'd be interested in your thoughts about this since you're clearly familiar with traveling! :thumbsup2 I'm asking bc I just cancelled my trip through Disney last night bc we saved $409 through travelocity. We had Disney travel insurance, but currently have none with travelocity. My only worry is that the park tix are non-refundable through travelocity.
Also, I'd also be interested on your thoughts about using travelocity (even though that is already a done deal for us). Thanks!

I'm certainly not Joe, and will yield to his superior knowledge, but for the park tickets, even though they aren't refundable, aren't they good "forever" until you start using them? Thus, if you had to cancel, you would have some tickets for future use?

Just tossing it out there...

That was my thought at first, but the tix that travelocity emailed say valid Oct. 5-12. Do you (or does anybody) know anything about travelocity tix?

I never use the insurance. I've driven in hurricanes before to get there. So I don't think it's worth the money. But that's just me.

Holy cow! That's crazy! I would have asked for a supervisor. Unbelievable! Do you know who it was? If so, I would call back and report them. Maybe a supervisor can pixie dust you.

I agree , unprofessional at least and non/magical certainly ! They have had a rough month, but still.

I joked with my CM about it all and she said I was her magical customer!

And got FD..

No clue on that, sorry.

Many travelocity reservations are non-refundable and beware , many charge at the time of booking!!!

Travel insurance is a must for expensive trips. Learned that 2 years in a row when a family member passed days before departure. Thankfully not a WDW vacation...

I always get in now. Often it is less than 10% total cost.

Has anyone had experience with emailing Disney? The CM that gave me the email address said ill get a response with in 48 hrs. I just wonder if that's true.

Yes, I had an issue I emailed about. You get an auto response that you will be contacted in 5-7 business days. They do contact you, it just takes a bit.
